For the u-pick experience: Nice to see that they have nice signage now and a very efficient checkout process. $1.85 /lb for cherries and cheaper for cash. $2 for an empty card box. Very reasonable compared to other places. We will be back!

Since moving back a few years ago, we've made a pilgrimage to the majority of the U pick farms in the area. One very large call in that list however, was Thompson farm. I figured it was probably similar to all of the other ones in the area, but when we finally try this place out, we found this was definitely a cut above the rest! Located out in Naches, only a few blocks off the main road, they had quite the array of things to do on a nice fall afternoon. They have two fields to park in, and upper and the lower. Both get you where you want to go quickly. The parking is also free! Follow the crowds up to the farm homestead where you'll find tons of different options for things to do. The main attractions here include a big corn maze, in the fall - the pumpkin patch, a walnut cannon, hayrides, a pumpkin launcher, some old cars to climb on, and a very large kids area! Many of the attractions are free, but a few of them do cost money. Don't fret however, the most you pay for something is about $3.50. In the kids area, they have a number of water related attractions. This includes some play fishing with magnets, some pumps that facilitate whiffle balls races down pipes, goats to look at asas well as a neat set up where, if you pay for it, you can pan for jewels. In the lower area, there's a toddler friendly Haybale maze, a bunch of hay bales to climb on and some small mini golf type holes. To get in these kid areas was $2 a kid and $3.50 for the jewel extravaganza! There were plenty of picture opportunities with big carts of pumpkins/squash/fall veggies and for those with a distinguished palate...PUMPKIN DONUTS! These things are starting to have a huge following and it showed by the 30 minute line to get them. They're well worth the wait and after you try them, you may just present a blank check with your name on it for them next time. All in all, this farm has tons to do, is run by some really nice people, and serves up some incredible donuts, at least during fall! This is the sort of place that is perfect to go on a lazy afternoon. Well worth your time and you will definitely find something you like!

Super fun roadside farm market. Great staff, good prices for the area for fresh fruit. Today got peaches, honey crisp apples, sweet corn, pickling cucumbers and peppers. They had a huge variety of pickled veggies pickeled asparagus and Brussels sprouts.

Even with Covid trying to keep us down, we found this place today. We wondered through the many rooms decorated with Halloween theme and fall colors all displaying produce from the Yakima valley. Preserved, butters of fruits and vegetables, wine, and pickled items were brilliantly displayed for purchase. There was an old fashion bar area dressed in a spooky Halloween fashion featuring soda and candies. Outside of this area was a display of pumpkins and gords that are typical of the season.

Pumpkin donuts for the win! So delicious and hot! I had to wait in line for a while, but let me tell you it's worth it! You won't find these at the market... you have to go to the farm. This is a shame. They could just sell these donuts at the market too and stay busy in two locations. Lots of things to do here for the kiddos! Make sure you bring a mask though!

This review is actually for Thompson's Farm, the market was closed for the season, and we were going to take the kids apple picking. This is really a cute family-run operation. We were there for their pumpkin festival, early october, and we couldn't have asked for better weather. The grounds are well kept, and the staff is so friendly. We picked golden delicious apples from the well manicured orchards. It was $.50 a pound for u-pick, or you could just buy from their pre-picked produce for $1 a pound. Part of their Pumpkin Festival entails Farmer John (yes, I really think that's him name) "pumkin chuckin", which means to say he, with great fanfare, fires off a air-compressor powered cannon (actually there are 2 cannons) which shoot pumpkins into the apple orchards. So much fun. After we picked way more apples than we could possibly eat or give away, I found a patch of hot and bell peppers and tomatoes, so I picked several pounds of those, while my family did the corn maze (I have seen way too many scary movies to enjoy any type of corn maze). They also had a little food stand with fresh donuts, apple cider, and hot dogs. Hay rides were available, and Farmer John's "Almost Live" band, which is 4 scarecrows propped up on a stage with musical instruments, and a loud stereo playing music - so funny! Lots of photo opportunities and lots of family fun. We will definitely come back again next year.

Went here for July 4th for U pick Cherries! Abundant sweet Rainier and Bing cherries for a good price. Great way to spend a day. The owners were nice and friendly. Recommended!

Great little place! Helpful farm stand attendant. Educational flyers for each type of peach was helpful. Passion for fruit was evident.

the people running the trading post are lovely but do not buy the pickled asparagus…read more they pack the outside of the jar with nice looking stems and fill the middle that you cant see with total bullshit asparagus. they don't even have heads and are so tough as to be inedible all this at a $12 price tag

I'm (embarrassingly) like Forrest Gump's best-good-friend Bubba when it comes to huckleberries…read more Instead of having shrimp on the brain and talking in a "southern robot voice" about all things shrimp; I'm the same way during the 2-4 weeks a year when huckleberries are in season. "Huckleberries are the fruit of the land. There's huckleberry smoothies, huckleberry pie, huckleberry-infused vodka, huckleberry shrimp, huckleberry tarts, huckleberry muffins. You can pick 'em, eat 'em, can 'em, boil 'em, broil 'em.....That's about all you can do with huckleberries." So yeah, while I was on my way to the mountains to harvest huckleberries, I saw a sign for huckleberries at this Naches Fruit Stand (it's interesting how there half of a dozen fruit stands in this remote little town!). I ended up stopping here to get some huckleberries (fresh ones were $11/lb). I also picked up some other items of their bounty---I picked some funky peaches and pears. In addition to fruit, part of the stand has antiques for your perusal. My girlfriend spied an old timey type writer...I was slightly tempted. I could just picture myself writing my novel. I'd be all "1950's style" with an unlit cigarette dangling from my lips, a sideways-tipped fedora on my head, and a glass of Scotch next to the "carriage return lever". But I stuck to fruit on this trip.

We came across this second rendition of the McIlrath Fruitstand while we were riding our bikes…read morealong the Naches trail of the Greenway path. It's located in an iconic for a building with a giant sign that simply reads "Fruit" - Washington nostalgia at its best! Apparently they are renting the place from the previous owners had lucky for all of us, it gives us a chance to buy more delicious produce and local products a little bit further down on the trail! Located on the way out to Naches, this place has tons of great stuff be at for a bike ride, a barbecue or just grabbing some delicious tree grown treats for at home. The produce that is available here largely mirrors what is down the road a few miles at the main stand near Suntides golf course. When we came in, they had tons of fresh bing and rainier cherries, apricots, peppers, Blueberries and plenty of potatoes and onions. The array of colors on any of the tables is always impressive and make sure thankful to live in a place like this! In addition to fruit, they roast their own peanuts, sell Tillamook ice cream, So local honey, rustic wooden furniture as well as meats from a butcher in Selah and smoked salmon from a small town on the Westside. It all added up to more than we were expecting and gave us a lot of reasons to come back here other than just the tree fruit options. The prices are very reasonable and the gal working here was very friendly. It's the sort of place you stop on your way out and on your way back, and is a good reason to carry a bag or basket on your bike! A great stop no matter what the occasion.
