Christmas at Washington fruit place! What a great place to purchase gifts for friends and loved ones this holiday season! There are really cute decorations, kitchen items, and a Variety of jelly's and jams! I highly recommend stopping in before Christmas for local goodies!

It's July 15th and upick is over so no charge for parking. Plenty of fresh cherries and fruit available for purchase in the store. (100 deg outside anyway). Very friendly and informative staff and we were able to sample before buying. Winegar ice cream was incredible. Best peaches and cherries we have ever had!

This is our second time here. Parking is $5. I think this is something new this year. Before you get out of the car, you can hear a girl in a microphone screaming at the customers. She was a young kid, but still felt kind of excessive as she was asking "have you heard the rules??" She told us about the $100 fine if you broke the rules. We paid attention, but not many were following those rules, yet no one was there to hold them accountable so the whole gathering us for the low down on the rules was a little pointless. When out in the orchards, it was a lot of fun. Different varieties and easy for littles and those with disabilities. Their portable potty's were super gross so plan accordingly!

It's hard not to live a place that sort of epitomizes central Washington. Barrett orchards is one of those spots! Be it more fruit then you could hope to taste in a sitting, local products like honey, barbecue sauce, pasta, or jams, or the fact that this is the only place I found that carries Winegar's ice cream, this place is legit! To boot, they make some incredible smoothies that use berries and tree fruit from the valley. The stand is about half way up Pecks Canyon and is the closest to town and the freeway. The parking lot isn't overly large, but is close to the U-pick spots and the main shop where all the goodies are kept! The main area inside has the aforementioned items (honey, jams, etc) as well as plenty of signs and even some cookware. Everything trends towards farmhouse as expected and is pretty cool! The prices are solid, the people working here are very nice and it's close to town. Hard not to love it and when you do, you'll probably make it a regular stop!

    Peaches are in season!

We stopped by to get some peaches which were in season. The staff working behind the counter were all very helpful. when we had a special request to find a wooden gift box, one member really went out of their way to find one for us. She even cleaned it off. Really above and beyond. It really shows how much they appreciate their customers and like their jobs. Another example was we were looking for a specific slotted spoon (alright i know we're sounding difficult now...) but she not only helped us, but she took a moment to make it a training moment for a younger staff member. Our peaches are fantastic, the gift box was well received and we could not be happier with our visit. Can't wait to go back again!!

A great spot to get fruit......and pictures with Santa!

Barrett Orchards is an awesome place! Located closer to town than many other fruit stands, this place has delicious tree-ripened fruit (peaches, cherries, pears, apples, etc.). Prices are good and in line with what you would pay elsewhere in town. In addition to the fruit, Barrett Orchards has all sort of gifts and cute items for sale. Depending on what time of year you go, they typically have seasonal gifts. Around Christmas time, they will have Santa there for several hours during various weekends to take pictures with the kids! Pictures are free to take with your own camera!

It's located in an iconic for a building with a giant sign that simply reads "Fruit" - Washington nostalgia at its best! Apparently they are renting the place from the previous owners had lucky for all of us, it gives us a chance to buy more delicious produce and local products a little bit further down on the trail! Located on the way out to Naches, this place has tons of great stuff be at for a bike ride, a barbecue or just grabbing some delicious tree grown treats for at home. The produce that is available here largely mirrors what is down the road a few miles at the main stand near Suntides golf course. When we came in, they had tons of fresh bing and rainier cherries, apricots, peppers, Blueberries and plenty of potatoes and onions. The array of colors on any of the tables is always impressive and make sure thankful to live in a place like this! In addition to fruit, they roast their own peanuts, sell Tillamook ice cream, So local honey, rustic wooden furniture as well as meats from a butcher in Selah and smoked salmon from a small town on the Westside. It all added up to more than we were expecting and gave us a lot of reasons to come back here other than just the tree fruit options. The prices are very reasonable and the gal working here was very friendly. It's the sort of place you stop on your way out and on your way back, and is a good reason to carry a bag or basket on your bike! A great stop no matter what the occasion.

While it's not a giant market, it encompasses about two city blocks and has Thirty or so vendors. The majority of the vendors are from farms either in Yakima or some of the neighboring communities. When we first attended a few weeks ago, there was an incredible amount of produce available. It ranges from veggies, to berries, to just about any type of fruit you could imagine. The best part however was the fact that there's really not a lot of price difference between here and the stores around. And most farmers markets that we have frequented, there's a significant markup - fortunately that really was not the case here. Aside from the produce, there were a good number of ancillary booths including those specializing in wood carving, a couple cheese makers (YES!), a sausage booth, a few jewelry spots and a number of local organizations advertising to the community- we talked with the master gardeners and they're a fun bunch! The food available here was pretty legit too. A Filipino booth boasts some incredible pork and beef skewers, there's tons of good Mexican food options and a number of other booths rotate through. We're excited to keep seeing what rotates through. In addition to this being a great market, there is incredible potential given the surrounding area. I wouldn't surprise me to see the number of food trucks continue to increase and the non-produce options continue to expand. A+!
