We came here yesterday for their cheese zombies and tomato soup! They were soooo delicious and amazing! They had a couple cute tables to sit at and they had some other comfy chairs to sit in also. They have a very small menu as far as deli food but the quality is there. But as fas as pastries and baked goods they have a ton of options!! The services was great. Viera's Bakery and Deli has a huge selection of baked goods and treats! We went here to grab donuts and breakfast to bring back home to our family and we were pleasantly surprised to see so many options to choose from. We ended up getting about 3 boxes of baked goods that included chocolate sprinkle donuts, bacon maple bar, chocolate donut bar, conchas, ham and cheese croissants and muffins. My littlest nephew was so excited to see the size of the chocolate donut - it was huge! I tried the ham and cheese croissant and the strawberry muffin, both were delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here for baked goods whether it's for sweet treats in the morning or even to grab some of their desserts that would be great for after dinner. Ham and cheese danishes; ham, cheese, jalapeño croissants; Bavarian taquitos; two kinds of macaroons; some kind of apple fritter thing; some donuty empanadas, and several more I can't remember. Loved the danishes and croissants-- but the croissants were better. The Bavarian taquitos were a hit. Not a big fan of the guava in one of the empanadas we tried. I didn't expect to be, though. A kid wanted it, so we tried it. Another flavor was great. The macaroons were excellent. I will definitely stop in again. I do wish their parking lot wasn't covered in blowing trash, and that all their baked goods were under covers instead of out in the air for children and other grubmeisters to touch. Very recently my wife and I were both talking about how it would be nice to have an additional good bakery in town. No sooner had we chatted then Vieira's announced that they were opening a branch in Yakima... Maybe we need to talk about winning the lottery next! This place is so good that we ended up going twice in the same day. They've got a myriad of different baked good options including pastries, cookies, donuts (In sizes huge and extra huge) As well as plenty of Mexican delights including sweet breads and empanadas. There are no less than 10 cases full of baked goods here - it's seriously boss! We sampled some of the donuts in each of our little dudes took down one that was about the size of their head. The donuts are yeasty, soft and just perfect! The thing I was most impressed with is the fact that they have Cream filled longjohns. They are quite amazing. They also have tons of specialty baked goods including cakes, cupcakes and region specific items - we sampled a Salvadorian quesadilla - awesomeness! The variety here is unreal and the quality as good as anywhere we've been! The crown jewel is the Homer sized pink frosting donut for $4.99! A small price to pay to feed 5 people! Prices are very reasonable with everything selling for around $1 +/- $0.50. The day old sweet rolls are $1 and they rotate racks of rolls that run around 4 for $1! I think this place is lovely. It has a wonderful selection of Hispanic inspired baked goods. If you know anything about this style of baking you'll be happy to try vieras. For reference Im Gavacho from California married into a large hispanic family. Pan dulcet is on point. My kids loved the breads and they all grew up eating a variety of these breads. Extended family enjoyed the breads also. HOWEVER I'm really depressed about my very small (10x6 ??) Birthday cake order that cost 65 plus tax. Chocolate buttercream,white cake with fresh banana and whip cream in the middle. It was all so wrong and bad. The cake...buddy, was bad bad bad tasting. I wish I could stop anyone from ordering all American style cakes and cupcakes from Vera's (tho the cup cakes were a tad better tasing becUse they were less dry, flavor still bad) I would say the only way anyone would ever like veiras American style cakes is if you grew up eating this flavor and didn't know any better. I doubt if they used any butter at all in the entire confection. The whole cake was dry pretty much tasted like oil. Even the 30 plus kids didn't eat it. That's saying something..cake So dry that when I cut it the actual layer of frosting just fell off completely????? You hear that? Like a peice of a Lego. The layer of "buttecream" was like a square block that could be cleanly removed from each slice.Frosting tasted like pure oil and sugar. Perhaps some coco too but Duncan heins and a box of yellow cake mix would be more satisfying and much cheaper. I'm sorry veiras. I could go on and on but this bad review is deserved. This place is so cool! When you walk in, they have baker's racks of donuts and pastries that are self serve. They also have 2 rows of cases with plastic doors with muffins, empanadas, cookies, etc. When you walk in, you grab a plastic tray and a set of tongs, load up your tray, then take it up front, where they put everything into a box and you pay. I've been here two times now on the way to hikes. Both times, I've been very pleaseed. There's a huge varity of pastry and breads here. Everything that I've had that was made in-house has been amazing. The standout for me is the raised donut selection. No matter what kind you get, they're delicate and pillowy. The donuts are perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. But when I said everything made in house, I mean the dough. From what I can tell, the fillings and glazes are just food service commodities that don't taste like much other than sugar. We got two giant donuts filled with "jam". The dough part was the best donut of its kind I've ever had. The fillings were tasteless and gloppy. It's unfortunate, but I can't hold it against Viera's. Given the breadth of their offerings and the prices, it would be unreasonable to expect them to also make all of their fillings and such in house. So the next time I go (and I will go out of my way to stop here!) I'll get donuts that don't rely on the extras. Chocolate bars or, even better, sugar-dusted. I'll happily forego my standard bismark to enjoy the finest doughnut I know of! I've also gotten sandwiches made to order here to bring with me on the trail. They're made on fresh bread and make a great lunch on the go. They tuck a nice crispy snickerdoodle under each one, too. read more

Wow, the selection is AMAZING! The ham and cheese croissants are fantastic, the jalapeño and cream cheese filed pastries are delicious, and the donuts are awesome and HUGE. If you want donuts, though, either order ahead or get there in the morning before they're gone. Amazing variety of Mexican pastries as well. Everything is fresh and delicious! My family loves this bakery. I go there every time I'm in Yakima. You have to get the big donuts! Soft and pillowy like a donut should be! Came to one of their cookie decorating classes. It was fun, don't get me wrong, but frustrating. There was not enough icing for everyone, so we had to share between 8 people. It also seemed like they got frustrated when people didn't follow along with exactly what they were teaching - which we couldn't do without icing, so it was all just a waiting game. We ended up running out and not getting to finish the cookies, and the class ended 45 minutes early (which, when you pay $35 a person for 2 hours, kind of sucks). I contacted Viera's to have a cake made for my aunt's 90th birthday. The baker was unavailable to take my call and I was told that they would have her call me back. She never returned my call and I was forced to call back. When I finally spoke to the baker, she stated they could have it made by the date I needed but I would not be able to order over the phone. She asked me to email her the details of my cake request and my contact information and I told her that I could have someone locally come in and finalize the order once I heard back. I never heard from her again. All conversations with the staff and the baker were abrupt as if I was inconveniencing them. I'm not sure why it is so difficult to order a cake from out of town.
