This is the absolute worst auto repair shop with which I've EVER done business. Keep in mind - my husband was a mechanic for several years and professionally trained and employed at a dealership - so we know what's up and what to expect from shops. We have been APPALLED by the worst service we've ever experienced in the automotive industry, to say the least (we've lived in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Greencastle, btw, and have been to lots of shops). Never in my LIFE have I experienced the absolute ridiculousness this place has created in my life. How they have so many great reviews I'll never understand ...I guess people just enjoy impressive-appearing tech over folks actually knowing what they're doing to your vehicles? My car went in on April 18th 2024. Today, the check engine light came on YET AGAIN after MONTHS of it being returned to me and doing the same thing. I had to have FOUR LOANER VEHICLES from them over the course of this time and the first loaner vehicle they gave me was in complete disrepair and actually, quite dangerous to drive (they knew this too, as they warned me "we just finished up a bunch of work on that car, the check engine light might come on but it's because of a sensor, not an actual issue". The same car (like an 80s or 90s cutlass????) . Then ****died /stalled out on the HIGHWAY***** over 3 times while I was driving my 7 year old son to school. It then died 5-6 more times off the highway on busy roads during rush hour traffic . The second loaner was fine , but the third had a broken gas cap that I had to pry open with a screwdriver . By the fourth, they gave me a van, because I'm pretty sure they could tell I was over it. And of course, now, less than a month after we picked it up for the 5th or 6th (FOR REAL) time just to have it NOT BE FIXED, the check engine light is on again. I paid $2600 and spent nearly 2 months for and on this bullsh*t and my car still isn't fixed. They put a warranty on their work, tho, so until that warranty is up on my car, they'll be "fixing???" It again for free for the next 33 months or so. Moral : do not go here if you value your time, your money, or your car. Or all three . The only reason I am giving them one star is because they have a cute shop dog and no one can be mad at a dog (kind of clever on your part if you're not satisfying customers, huh?) read more

they tried to make me pay for a 500 dollar alignment when no alignment was done. also had my car for 4 days longer and ended up saying their machine was bad. sketchy practices here. just because its a new shop doesn't mean they know how to use the equipment. also look at the mass amount of cars in the lot, that should tell you how good the shop is. read more

Do not let your mom or your grandma go here. Their "master technicians" misdiagnosed my tire issue and couldn't wait to charge me $3,500 dollars for what cost me a new set of tires to fix. They said I had cupping On my tires. Not being a total idiot I took one look at the tires and said "they are Insane!" I have flat spots on one side like I hit. A pot hole and developed two flats pots. Cupping tires and flat spots are totally different Look at what Google has to say about that and save yourself a ton of my by not going To shady garage of the year! read more

While we were making our way from California to Michigan, a Terre Haute pothole tried to tear our Subaru's front end to bits. We found Finzel's Mastertech within about a mile of us and limped in to see what they could do. The damage turned out to be fairly simple and fairly cheap, and we were back on the road in an hour. That was dumb luck. What isn't dumb luck is how this operation is set up. From the friendly staff who genuinely wanted us back on the road as much as we did to the spacious and comfortable customer lounge to the shop's golden retriever, these guys and gals do it right every step of the way. Nobody looks forward to having their car worked on; Finzel's made the experience easy and--I don't know--almost fun. read more

I have taken my cars to Finzel's for 6 years and always appreciated the how the technicians are willing to explain the repairs they think my car needs and help distinguish which are essential and which are optional to fit my budget. They have consistently gone above and beyond to make sure I am taken care of and get great deals. One technician even helped me find a new car repair shop I can trust when I moved to another state! I appreciate how clean and comfortable the waiting area is and the willingness of staff to drop me off and pick my up when I can't get a ride during longer repairs. They have great hearts and excellent work ethic. I recommend this car repair shop to anyone in or around Terre Haute. Our car has been turning off while driving and resetting everything in the car. It has almost made my wife hit someone. People told us to take it to this shop it's the best in terre haute. We took our car in to get it checked. They kept it for 10 hours. They drove around and used a quarter of our gas. Then they tell us they don't know what is going on with it. They charged us $124 for them to use our gas and tell us nothing is wrong with it. Never coming back! read more

The owner "Steve" is not a nice guy. He got extremely rude once I told him all I was paying for was the diagnostics because they quoted me a $1100 rack and pinion repair. So then he suggested an irrelevant power steering flush that I went ahead and paid for. Well 1 week after I left the car starts to misfire like crazy. 2 weeks later undrivable. I went ahead and checked the powersteering fluid for the heck of it and its overflowing out of the reservoir! its 3 inches past the max fill line! He laughs as I talk to him on the phone to see whats going on and says bring it back in we will have to charge for diagnostics again! LOL, really? read more

We were traveling through from Florida via NY to St Louis, when we had a low pressure tire warning on the car. The guys took the vehicle straight in, fixed the tire and we were on our way in 20 minutes. The best part was, they did not charge us to do the repair. Efficient, friendly and professional. I really appreciate the integrity of Steve and his business. They repaired the air conditioner on my '97 Jeep in the summer of 2015. I moved 3 hours away and it wasn't until later that fall I discovered my heater/defrost was not working. Because it was not my primary vehicle and I had other financial priorities, I parked the Jeep in the garage for 18 months. When repairing the heater revealed that the problem was created when the AC was fixed, Steve honored the warranty - even though it was 2 years old! Thanks for standing behind your work! read more

took truck there to get fixed as had very hard time starting in 20 degree weather, went in and asked if they could fix it as we werent interested in paying for no results, they said if we cant fix it, you dont pay...what a crock!...after 6 visits and thousands of dollars they fixed it,,,NOT!....they just guessed and replaced things, charging us all the way, then, when we said enough was enough and went somewhere else since they couldnt fix it, they said we had to pay for all of the 6 visits even though they NEVER fixed the problem, yikes, those 6 visits cost us over 2k for No results...now truck wont start in 40 degree weather. read more
