The routes have recently changed from BA to FlyBe, and the Glasgow route being cancelled. Derry Airport is great if you dont want long security lines, and long check-in lines. The downside to this is the lack of facilities, the departure lounge is small, and the food is not cheap, but no airport food is cheap anyway. The walk between plane and terminal is short, but when it rains can seem much longer. Derry is undergoing runway improvements, and the apron is being increased in size to accomodate more aircraft.

He has set tours or you can do what we did and create your own! Very flexible, really took into consideration our interests to fill in in between the stops we wanted and had everything planned out. He was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable, took us to places we would never have known about, and just a pleasure to deal with. If you've never done Ireland before, hiring a driver is a great way to go. You get to see everything along the way and discover places you wouldn't have on your own. Best tour guide I have hired. He is very reasonably priced as well. You will get the most out of your Ireland adventure!

There was a large crowd when we turned up for our second experience. The man taking the tour was the same one on our first a few years ago. This was a traumatised city and it was this way I guess 40 years. On our 2nd tour it again struck me how he tells the truth of the horror without any rancour or bitterness - he lived in it and through it. Next time we visit this most friendly of cities we'll certainly do this tour again.

The people running the place are the nicest host you could imagine. The place is magnificent with a breathtaking scenery ! It's not far away from the Giant's Causeway, a mythical place and the neighbourhood is a great place for someone who loves nature and peaceful walks. It's not very far either from Donegal, thanks to a boat which will carry your car and yourself from one place (i.e. Northern ireland) to the other (Eire). We're looking forward to come back (but not too often otherwise we would end in staying there and not returning home (France it is).

Forget your Kerrys and Connemaras, when it comes to wild, rugged beauty, you cannot beat Donegal. Not only that the people here are so incredibly nice. Not least the owner of the Cois Farraige/Cois Daire cottages in Rathmullan. Siobhan was fantastic to deal with and both cottages were very reasonably priced, given how well they are kitted out. There were large flat screen tvs, good quality coffee machines and all of the rest mod cons. Siobhan has left lots of great material to work out the best activities to do here. Hiking is recommended and the stunning Glenveigh national park is nearby. High quality restaurants are within waking distance (Rathmullan house) and the pristine beach is yards away. Go off the beaten track, rain or shine, and treat yourself to a little piece of heaven in Donegal. (PS if you get the chance try to visit Tramore beach hidden away in Dunfanaghy. The most beautiful beach I have ever seen).
