One of my favorite places to shop. Meat is a bit pricey but it's worth the extra money because the quality is unbeatable. When you go to your local grocery store (the big 3/4 chains). Where does their meat come from? I don't know! I know EXACTLY where the meat comes from at Thompson's (lol.... from the back room....lol). Their rope sausage is PHENOMENAL. They also have kielbasa and a couple of freezers worth of chicken breasts, fries, home made perogies, etc. The place is ALWAYS packed. It's a throwback to my childhood - good 'old small town Pennsyltucky and it's roots in PA Dutch quality and culture. Stop in.... everyone is helping and a delight to deal with. read more

We like going here for fresh food and high quality meats but we ordered bbq for Christmas Eve 2 weeks ahead of time. The pickup process may make us skip this establishment from now on. Had to take a number and wait in a very long line for something I already had to take a number for 2 weeks ago to order. The item was literally tagged and ready to go but had to wait in a line despite asking 3 different people if I could just get the item so I could wait in another line to pay for it. There needs to be a better process, especially around the holidays when many people preorder items. read more

I stopped by this place this past weekend, as I had passed by it a few times before and was curious. This place, as one would expect, is all things meat. When you walk in, you feel like you're in a big meat locker. Fresh cuts are distributed to order along the very large counter in the back. There are a few freezer bins and a number of refridgerated meat areas as well. I noted a lot of more unusual cuts including liver, ground chuck etc. Pork, chicken, beef and some frozen fish. The place was hoppin' and seemed very popular with the locals. Unfortunately, I was seeking sustainable meat (organic, antibiotic free etc.) and I didn't see anything that fit that description. However, I did manage to find a dozen local perogies (NOT Mrs. T's!!) for $4.50. They are huge, cheesy and delicious. I will be back for the perogies. read more

Old Time Meat Market, really nice steaks, chicken, sausage, fresh salads. Every Tuesday they make subs and put them in the cold case up front, six or seven different kinds for (as of this writing) around $3. Sales run from Thursday to Monday. It can get packed at times but they do their best to keep the line moving. Try them once you should be back. I love the NY strips. read more

Their prices are great. Very unique meat and frozen products. I just had a sub from there, I was told they were good. The subs are pre-packaged so I was not expecting much and I consider myself a bit of a Sub Aficionado. The sub was excellent. The Roll - so important, was as good as one you get in you favorite Philly or Jersey Shore sub shop. And of course, the Lunchmeat was exceptional. Definitely try it. read more

Old fashioned neighborhood butcher. Smoked meats in house are a rare find. Kielbasa is great, smoked meat sticks come in several flavors. Beef jerky is also tender and flavorful. It is always busy but the staff is so good about getting people in and out so you are not waiting a long time. The owner is nice and recognizes everyone as they come in. Over the years my family has enjoyed shopping for our lunch meant at this market...the prices are good. Today, I went into the market, walking straight back to the deli section in the rear of the market and there was only 1 other person shopping at the time. Both meat cutters had masks on for safety during this COVID 19 pandemic. As I was coming to the cashier checkout area, a person entered the store without a mask & said - OH I forgot my mask! ...and the cashier replied _ No problem ...then I realized...she was not wearing a mask either. I questioned her and asked where her mask was, she said it is up to the store owner who said they didn't have to wear a mask. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the owner of this store. They have a sign posted along with a lot of other papers people are selling and it states about social distancing and masks. This Pandemic is NOT OVER and I should think that the owner would want to keep his employees and customers safe during this pandemic. There is NO measures being taken to secure safety. Nothing marked on the floor...no arrows going 1 way...no spray at the cashiers for when there is touching of the credit card machine...NOTHING. I am a Senior Citizen age 72 and I do not feel that my patronage of this store is of any concern of the owner who I see is doing nothing to protect me from this pandemic..i FEEL VERY HURT BY THE OWNERS LACK OF CONCERN FOR MY HEALTH... HAVING NO PANDEMIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS PUT IN PLACE AT HIS STORE. read more

My children hate meat. When I buy Thomson's Meats, they eat like crazy. They have great marinaded chicken, black diamond steaks, home made sausage, and thick, juicy steaks. The meat is so tender, and never dry. The prices are reasonable. It is worth the trip. And yes, the perogies are locally made, and delicious. Also, if you don't want to make your own stuffing, they have frozen that is delicious. read more
