I have seen Dr. Amy Hinckley 2 times. I really liked her a lot. Today I was told was her last day. I am very sorry!!

I waited 40 minutes last time to see the doctor for my first appointment just to have to schedule 2 weeks later for the actual physical. I then arrived at 10:51 for what I thought was a 10:50 appointment but I guess it was 10:40 so I was told I was a no show and to reschedule. Horrible service here. Can't seem to get prescription filled out properly to my pharmacy...and it happens every year I get something re-prescribed. Lack of urgency and they will lie to you about getting it sorted out in timely matter. I literally have to have the pharmacy call them after 2 hrs of waiting. It's embarrassing to deal with at the pharmacy, seems to be a glitch on SCL Health's end. read more

I have been seen at Thornton Medical Center for the better part of my life. It's never been great care but it's always got me through. They have since moved to this new location and although the office has physically changed the staff has not. The staff is very rude and lacks compassion. The doctors do not seem to enjoy their jobs and it seems as if they are always overbooked. If you've got other options for care, I'd look at them first. read more

I have been dealing with anxiety issues for most of my life and in recommendation from a friend, I went to Thornton Medical Center. I had tried so many different ways of dealing with my issues before it got so bad that I had no other choice than to seek help from a medical professional. Medical, yes. Professional, absolutely not. I went in and talked to a physician assistant on my first visit. She was wonderful and listened to all my concerns and we talked through a plan of action to ft me feeling better. She proscribed me a couple of different things and told me to come back and see her in a month. I was feeling better, but still having numerous panic attacks weekly. Better than the 3-4 a day I was dealing with. I called and made an appointment with the same PA I had talked to before. I went in with my list of how I had been feeling the days prior as requested from the PA. In walks a lady I had never met before who didn't seem to care why I was there, she just started scolding me for being in my thirties with no health insurance. When I attempted to steer her back on track with the reason I was there, she told me that I was a drug seeker. What? She had never met me before and refused to talk about the reason I was in there in the first place. All she cared about talking about with me was that at my age, I should know better than to not have health insurance. If you are in the same boat as me, no health insurance, and nowhere to go, STAY AWAY from this place. Or at least steer clear of Dr. Achuthan who seems more about the bottom line than actually helping people. She had never met me before and had no idea how much courage it took in the first place to come in and talk to someone about my issues. When I left, she told me flat out that she didn't want to see me for 3 months. She just wrote me a new prescription for something I had never even heard of before (that a week later gave me worse anxiety and I wound up in the ER with chest pains, thinking I was having a heart attack) and basically called me a baby as I was leaving. Horrible experience and now along with my anxiety and panic attacks, have no trust in medical professionals. read more

Whatever you do, don't go here. Called ahead for an appointment, told them that I didn't have health insurance. They said it would be $84 up front. If they needed to do any tests it would be more and I would have to pay before I left. Seemed reaaonable. Got done, checked that there were no tests ordered, all good. Now they tried to file a claim against my old insurance that expired over a year ago. I never gave them a card or plan number. They just saw the records came from Kaiser so they tried to bill them. Now they are sending me a bill and threatening me with collections for a fraudulent bill. I was a CASH customer PAID IN FULL and I get nasty calls, nasty letters, and the run around everytime I call to deal with it. read more

I recently moved and needed a new doctor closer to home. I found this medical center through my insurance and made an appointment to see one of the doctors there. When I first arrived, I was a little hesitant since the office is located in a strip-mall, right next door to Target and Sprouts and includes a "Walk In Clinic. However, I was pleased to see that they keep the Walk-in Clinic separate from the appointment patients, and since the front desk personnel and PA were all very nice and helpful, I decided to give them a chance. Then I met Dr. Willson. What a joke! Not only does this man have absolutely NO bedside manner, he seemed to have no regard for how I was feeling. Since I was a new patient, I expected that he would spend some time to talk to me about my health history and do a little investigating of why I was feeling so crappy. I mentioned at one point that I wondered if I might be having allergy-related sinus issues. Without any further examination of my ears/nose to look for inflammation, he immediately decided to write me a Rx for antibiotics and sent me on my way, not questioning if there were any other reasons for me feeling light-headed, dizzy, queasy, etc.. I think he MAYBE spent 5 minutes with me. It is from experiences like this that make me hesitant to go to see the doctor because it always seems to be a waste of my time and money!! read more

The reception is usually okay. I had a doctor that I really liked but, then she stopped listening to me. Arrogant MA and slow response to emails etc. I will never go there again. Poor management and they forget that the patients are the priority. read more

I have been here many times for multiple reasons and from my experience there are some good healthcare providers here and then there are some that I frankly will not ever see again. The front desk is hit or miss, some of them seem to really care and others seem like you are bothering them just for being there, so again, hit or miss. If you do need to come here, make sure you get Ms. Williams-Anderson I went to the clinic today and had Ms. Williams-Anderson. I am absolutely terrified of needles and had to have blood drawn and she was so amazingly supportive, compassionate and patient with me. She let me freak out like I was 5 while being there to talk to me and reassure me. She even got a wet paper towel and put it on my neck. Her bedside manner is AMAZING, she's extremely nice and is very knowledgeable. I have to have another procedure done where I will have to have an IV and she said she will make sure I am taken care of when I have to have that. I have never had a healthcare provider take as much time as she did, work with me as much and seem more like a friend than a healthcare provider. I will definitely DEFINITELY be asking for her the next time I am in there. I give her 1000 Stars but the clinic overall a 4 Star because the front desk is sometimes not the easiest to get through and it is hit or miss. If they were more friendly then I would definitely give the clinic a full five star rating. At least give them a chance and see for yourself if you have the same experience that I have and if you do, you'll see you would've missed out had you not at least tried. read more

I have been going to this doctor's office literally my whole life and I just left disappointed and upset for the last time. With that being said; I'm so tired of being treated like a 2nd class citizen by a bunch of rude front desk staff, medical assistants, doctors, and wannabe doctors. I don't know if it's my appearance (tattoos), but they literally treat me like scum that isn't worthy of a "hello" "how are you"? They just look at me like "what the hell do you want"? every single time I go in there. Am I not cool or yuppie looking enough to receive good customer service??? I think they're shocked every time I actually have health insurance because they ask me for my insurance card with a nasty attitude as if I'm about to tell them I'm on Medicaid or without insurance period. Just a thought, maybe the person you're treating like scum makes a good living, works hard, and has good insurance?? Tonight, the older white gentleman who came in behind me received a nice greeting and treatment. I guess he looked like he has insurance? Also, I have been your patient for 35 years...do any of you remember your regular patients faces or names??? Not just that, they can't EVER just help me when I'm sick, or really fix the problem. Most of the time they talk to me like I'm 5 years old and ask me demeaning questions like " Can you tell me what it feels like to have a fever"?? Seriously, can you talk to me like an adult? Yeah I know what it freaking feels like to have a fever, you condescending jerks! Also, Dr. Trepathi was supposed to remove a lump off my back last year and he performed an in house surgery to remove the lump, and it's still there and still ruining my life!!!!!!! I have a huge scar from the "removal" and of course, a huge lump. Plus, he gave me medication for "sleep" that was an antidepressant (didn't ask for that) and I had a horrible reaction to and it nearly killed me!!! Today, I felt really bad and sore after receiving a B12 injection at a health & wellness clinic. I went into the walk in clinic feeling nervous for my well-being, and they treated me as if I received the injection in Tijuana. The doctor told me there isn't anything she could do, but of course $30 co pay for nothing!!!! All she did was tell me it's too late at night to do an ultrasound of my leg, and basically I need to be smarter. Then she said to follow up with my primary care physician "if you have one"??? Are you kidding??? Yes I have one and he works there!!!! Did you even bother to look at my record to see if my regular doctor works there? I said, "follow up with him so he can charge me $30 bucks to tell me there isn't anything he can do"? This is why you guys have 2 stars on Google. You treat people like trash! I've stuck with you people out of convenience and some strange loyalty, but I'd rather find a nice doctor that treats me like a human being worthy of excellent health care! read more

After she did the referral, the ENT office I was referred to (Peak ENT--the person who answered the phone was awful) said they were too busy to see me so I found Dr. Sabour at Mike High Otolaryngology whose office was kind enough to get me right in. Jennifer helped me switch the referral quickly so that I could use/apply my insurance on my specialist visit. She was so helpful! A "Super Star"!! read more

Terrible. Disappointing. Dr. Ian S Bach is the least compassionate doctor I have ever met. Never smiled. Never seemed friendly. Never tried to care. Second appointment he power threatened me, "I can drop you as a client at any time." He told me he has been doing this for 25 years, but before he did one blood test, he dismissed it as a mental illness. My psychiatrist has known me for four years. He said that doctors have to do every physical test before ruling it as mental illness. I cried when they drew my blood because of Dr. Bach's treatment of me. I am 25 and can't walk or take care of myself because of an autoimmune disease. I truly wish i was actually mentally ill like he suggested. NEVER GO HERE IF YOU ARE SICK. read more

I have been going here for 3 years. I was lucky enough to get a NP on my first visit and have been with her since. Nancy McConnell is the best of the best! She listens, she empathizes, she laughs, she has been so wonderful to me, I can't imagine having anyone else. BTW, it's not because she always tells me what I want to hear. She is succinct in her communication and clear. She is now working part-time so harder to get in to see her but she is well worth the effort. The clinic has improved greatly on the telephone wait time to speak to someone. The front desk folks have always been friendly. I couldn't ask for more. I have experienced severe trauma in the past 3 years and I don't where I would be if it wasn't for Nancy. read more

Went in Monday around 7pm to their walk in clinic which they said they no longer provide that service (you'd think they'd send a letter to patients) so I ended up at the ED which I got diagnosed with the flu. Couple days later(today) I called the medical center to see if coughing up bloody mucus was normal and they transferred me back to their medical assistant Dino? He was very demeaning and told me I should probably go back to the ED. They also offered me a 6pm appt (when I called at 8am) when I asked if I can have my message sent to a provider to get some advice or see if they could get me in sooner he responded "yeah I guess I could send a message to them but idk when they'd get back to it" I'm sorry but I also work in the medical field and patients come first. If patients have a true concern about their health then you stop what you're doing and consult with a provider. And if you don't have the empathy to be in the health care field then it's simple, DON'T BE IN HEALTHCARE. I ended up calling the ER they transferred me to the provider and had all of my questions answered. I definitely don't recommend this facility- I mean look at the ratings of this place. read more

I've gone to this clinic for years when Dr Segel was in charge. I was always taken care of. Since his retirement I've been in here twice and both times they have taken a bunch of unneeded tests and have sent me home with no prescription or anything to help my symptoms! I'm over this place! I have been in the walk-in clinic quite a few times, between three boys, my husband and myself I feel like we have seen just about all of the docs and PA's. There have been a few times we have had to wait a while, but given that it IS a walk in, it is going to happen. My father saw Jennifer Thomas frequently for what she diagnosed as a "sinus infection" every couple months he would go see her and she always prescribed him an antibiotic for said infection. For years she did this, she never referred him to a specialist nor thought it could be anything else other than a sinus infection. Just some antibiotics was good enough for her. Well, in July of 2015 he went to see her again, terribly ill and desperate for an answer, she performed blood work and said his white cell count was off, but nothing to be alarmed about. She sent him home with MORE antibiotics. August 2015 my dad is finally hospitalized, Jennifer Thomas called him after another round of blood tests and claimed he had hepatitis a. Not only did he NOT have hepatitis a, but on September 1, 2015 he died from lymphoma. The specific type of lymphoma he had presents itself early on in the nasal cavity. But Jennifer Thomas always said it was sinusitis. By the time my father was hospitalized his antibodies were so low (from years of being prescribed antibiotics) he didn't stand a chance and was even considered for antibody transplants. Needless to say, the people at this facility are not doctors, and are extremely negligent. I highly recommend that you don't trust them with your personal health or the health of anyone whom you care about. Period! read more

I went in for a annual physical during my physical I told them about a current medical problem I was having, because I talked about a current problem I was billed for 2 visits at the cost of $275.00 EACH! Then in the middle of my consultation with the Doctor (this was my first visit to this clinic and this doctor) The doctor got up and said I have spent enough time with you!!!!! I've been going to this office for over 10 years and have slowly seen in deteriorate to what it is now. I was referred to do different test / x rays only to never be called back on. Treatment / issues have gone un-attended because they flat out seem to busy. It almost seems as if all they care about is collecting as many consultation fees as possible without ever truly worrying about the long term or ongoing care of their patients. It is sad to say that I have decided to go elsewhere with my insurance / and money. Just recently I called for a follow up appointment (the DR requested I do so) and was told that all Dr's had over a 1 month wait period. The follow up appointment is to have the Dr. go over whether or not I need to remain on certain medication that I should not just suddenly stop taking. Needless to say, I don't have an entire month of medication left; therefore they suggested I speak to someone that might be able to temporarily fill a prescription. After being on hold for 20 min; I was relieved to hear that someone picked up the phone. However, just as I thought I would hear someone help me with my issue, I was asked if I was still holding!... I was again placed on hold and after an additional 5 min. I was hung up on. People seem to forget that they offer a service to YOU... The customer!! And you can take your business elsewhere if they do not appreciate you. read more

I have dealt with their problems with them for 20 years now today my wife went in on the walk in side and she waited two hours in a room with my two girls you're telling me that they could not of come by there and said we are extremely busy it'll be just a few minutes Patience is the key for patients. Tried to get may homeless schizophrenic daughter in to see them for physical. she has seen them most of her life. when she got there they asked her questions about general health at the front desk. she stated she had sore throat just because she picked a symptom. didnt really have one. next thing we know they are rushing us out of the clinic without listening to us about her. they said we could schedule online appt. we tried to tell them she was not capable to doing this as is homeless with no access. we tried to schedule something right away while standing in the parking lot and there website would not let us schedule anything. when we tried telling them this we were told it was our problem. my daughter only trust this one clinician so we hoped that we would be able to get her in for medical care. but at this time they will still not schedule an appt for her and keep telling me its mental health which we are not asking for mental health treatment but medical. we fear she has serious medical issues going untreated. she will not go to the ER so it was very important that her PCP see her. Guess they would rather discriminate against a person with mental health issues then treat a person with serious medical issue. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. SCL is more concerned with money then people!!!!!!! read more

Thornton medical center is unethical and cannot be trusted. I had an ankle injury and went to see them for treatment. The doctor took an xray, found nothing, and fitted me with a air boot for support. During the fitting of the boot they pushed a piece of paper having me sign saying that they have no responsibility for the equipment they are suggesting we buy from the vendor they are promoting. They don't tell you what price the equipment is and they also don't tell you that you can order a boot from Amazon for $39.99. SCL Health Medical Equipment Vendor, Rocky Mountain Medical Equipment, charged me $468.84 which was 11 times the amount I can get in the free open market. This is the most unethical and lack of care for the patient I have ever seen. The price fixing of hospitals and vendors continue. Thanks for nothing. BEWARE. read more

Realistically, the thing that saved this was the doctor I saw. She was great. She was attentive. But it took nearly 2 hours in the walk-in clinic to see her. Now I realize it's a walk-in clinic. And I realize that you are seen based on the severity of the issue. There was one person that was seen prior to me. There were 3 others waiting behind me. There were no appointments waiting in the appointment area. There was only one doctor on staff seeing patients (at least that is what I overheard the front desk say as they were having fairly loud conversations). One thing I know for sure is that the front desk staff were not happy to be there. They made it obvious in their interactions with patients, with their demeanor on the phone, and from the conversations they were all having together. It was very unprofessional. Every time I've had to go here, it seems like I'm inconveniencing the staff by being there. That shouldn't be how a medical office is ran. read more

I started here as a new patient because of its convenient location. However, I have been nothing but disappointed in the care I receive as well as the customer service. I have a "regular doctor" there but when I get sick and call to make an appointment, they say "we can get you in in 4-5 weeks for an appointment" I explain that I am sick TODAY and want to try to see someone, then they make you come to their walk in clinic and wait 2 hours to be seen. That sort of defeats the purpose of getting established with a primary care doctor.... why wouldn't I just use an urgent care?! Then, when I saw a doctor at the walk in clinic I asked a question about one of my prescriptions being refilled and they required that I "made an appointment to discuss with my doctor" because "they don't do medication refills at the walk in clinic". UGH! I am right here in front a physician who has access to all of my medical records. I don't understand having to pay 2 co-pays to come in 2 separate times.... it just is so absurd. I will be leaving there as soon as I can find another primary care physician. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

This facility is a prime example as to what's wrong with healthcare today. I have been going to Thornton medical for nearly 10 years now. As of today, I have made the decision to go elsewhere. Unfortunately, Thornton Medical makes you feel more like a transaction than a patient. Basically, I have, and will be on a particular medication for the rest of my life. I was given a prescription with 3 refills (each one can last up to 90-180 days). I recently ran out of my second one and called the pharmacy to get a refill. They notified me that the prescription had expired even though there is one refill left. The pharmacy contacted Thornton Medical to try to obtain the last refill and Thornton Medical denied the refill request and is demanding that I come in for an appointment. Wonder why? Probably because they need to collect that co-pay. The question I have is, why is my prescription expiring before I run out? Furthermore, I had to wait 24 hours to find out that I was denied. Than I called today to see if they could fill the last prescription and schedule an appointment within a week....denied again. Now they expect me to do a walk-in and lose 2-3 hours of my day. Now 48 hours has gone by and I have not taken my medication. Do you think they cared when I told them that. Not at all. The lady on the phone had no concerns and made no effort to try and assist me. She also asked what doctor I see and I explained to her that I haven't seen a regular doctor there in awhile. She the responded with "that is probably why they want to see you." Now, why in the world are they scheduling different doctors on my behalf and than penalizing me for it. What is really sad is, all the appointment is going to be is: -Me paying a co-pay -Waiting in the front office for 1-2 hours -Waiting in the back for another 30 minutes -Doctor spending 5 minutes with me and writing the prescription Make sure you look at all of your options before becoming a patient here. Went in for a physical examination. The doctor asked me if I had any questions and I told him about some knee pain that I have had. He talked to me a little about how the knee works and then told me to stretch more before I exercise. Later, I receive a bill for both a physical examination and an office visit. I was surprised to receive two different bills. It turns out that the 30 seconds we spent talking about my knee is considered an office visit and is not part of the physical examination at all. Right now I feel that the doctor was worried more about getting the billing right, than he was about giving me good care and advise. I also think that knee pain seems like a perfectly good subject to talk about during a physical examination. I feel like I cannot trust the Thornton Medical Center anymore. They have demonstrated to me that they are more focused on the billing rather than the needs of the patient. If you decide to go there, I hope you have a better experience than me. read more

I have been seen here for about 6 years. When I started going I saw various doctors (the first doctor I saw, who isn't there anymore, almost made me find another practice right away). I finally was seen by Dr A and have been seeing her regularly since. I recently was diagnosed with a chronic illness and Dr A has done everything in her power to be sure I am able to have a good quality of life. She has sent me to any specialist I needed, and listened to me like no other doctor before. The previous front desk staff wasn't very friendly but the last few months when I have called or gone in the new girls are sweet, understanding and kind. I love that there is a walk in option so when I need urgent care my entire file is already there even if I don't see my doctor. Over 6 years there have been ups and downs but I am glad I gave it another chance after the first doctor I saw. read more

Obamacare ruined this place (TMC). I have been coming here for 30 years. I had to cancel my physical with Dr. Melendez, she was very rude last time she treated me and her reviews say it all. When Obamacare kicked in Jennifer Thomas and many good doctors left this place. Its an Obamacare treatment center, if want better quality treatment you'll need something besides government insurance. Trump might be able to fix this problem if he is reelected. Its a 3rd world type facility. There is a real happy boy that answers the phone. If you tell him you have Obamacare, Medicade, he'll reply we quit taking new Medicade patients and hang up on you. You'll need to keep calling back to get another frt desk helper, especially if you're a 30 yr customer like myself. No need to report this Yelp rating to the staff. The reply; We cant change the Yelp reports,, I kid you not. I changed my appt to Dr Freeman for tomorrow . The happy boy told me 2 weeks ago the the 2nd of July was the soonest. I would NOT recommend Dr. Elisa G Melendez to anyone. I have to say, the visit I had with her was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. To begin, I do want to say that the front staff, assistants and lab techs were wonderful, and this review should in no way reflect poorly on them. I showed up early for my appointment and was called into the room in a timely manner. I had made the appointment to address a few large and small issues I had been dealing with. The assistant was attentive and kindly explained that the visit would probably not allow for all of my concerns to be addressed, so we narrowed them down to 2 points. I then sat for a little over a half an hour, waiting for Dr. Melendez to see me. The assistant, to her credit, did check in on me, offer me water or something while I waited and apologized for the long delay. Once seen, Dr. Melendez mentioned that we could not cover my laundry list of problems during the visit. I was surprised at her comment, as I already hashed out this problem with her assistant, and assumed that it would have been discussed before she came in. I said as much, and told her I only had the two issues I needed to cover. She went into one of my two problems, spent a lot of time reading on the computer, discussing a treatment they did not offer in office, and then offered that we take some labs to try and narrow down the issue first. She did not seem very engaged, yawned on multiple occasions, and did not seem to rely on much personal knowledge or experience to help in my diagnosis. She then began wrapping things up to send me on my way. I was quite surprised, as we had not covered the other topic of my concern. When I mentioned this, she became visibly irritated and stated that I had agreed that we would only take on one topic during the visit. She may have meant to ask me to narrow down to one question, but this never occurred. I know this for a fact, because I would have chosen the topic that was left out, to discuss over all the others, as it was the number one reason I came in and the most intrusive in my day to day life. Additionally, I had only been in the room for a little over 15 minutes. She then angrily and crudely ordered me to undress, to examine my problem. She quickly decided on what she would do about my issue, without much discussion, and left the room to order a prescription. When she returned, I asked her if this was normally how she treated her patients. Up to this point, I had been extremely understanding and friendly about how late she had been, and she repaid me with disinterest, irritation and anger. She rattled off a quick list of insincere "I'm sorrys", and then left the room. In follow up, I sent her a message through the patient portal to inquire about a question I forgot to ask in the appointment. I had included a potential remedy and also asked for her input, if she knew of a better solution. She merely replied that the idea I had would not be suitable, with no other comments. She is clearly not interested in helping people, and from what I saw, does not have much to offer patients medically or emotionally. Not only did I feel that this was a waste of my time and an office visit, I left so upset by the experience and how I was spoken to, that it took me 2 hours to calm down. Don't use this clinic. Had a car accident just before Christmas. Had already received care at ER and Kaiser. My insurance changed at the beginning of January and I ended up here. Dr was so extremely rude. I had a knee injury and she was going was off base asking when I last had a full blood work up. I told her and then asking about other unrelated tests. She then sent me for a MRI without looking at any of the previous X-rays or treatment. I chased her for days after she got the results of the MRI back to get the results. But what happened then will keep me from ever setting foot in that clinic again. They found cysts on my knee. I asked if it could be anything serious or normal for the injury and her response was I don't know you could have cancer . Then wanting to refer me to THEIR specialist. I did not take her referral but followed up on my own. Two weeks of worry and loss of sleep. Benign Cyst caused by accident will go away with time. This clinic is only worried about money for making you a test dummy. Read the reviews and stay away. read more

I've been coming to the Walk in Clinic since back when they were located by Safeway. I had never had a "bad" experience, but have noticed a decline in service. In November, the day before Thanksgiving, my 9 year old daughter suddenly had sever stomach pain. Given her history of bladder infections, her normal pediatrician was closed, I decided to take her here. I walked in about a minute before 3 pm. They checked me in and then abruptly told me that they might not be able to see my daughter. I asked why not and they told me that they were closing. I said she probably just needs to have a urine test and antibiotics. The receptionist said, "Yes, but that would take 15 minutes and we are closing!" They actually turned us away! I told them that I was disappointed and they walked me and my family out and locked the doors to close. I was more concerned for my daughter and took her to After Ours on 104th and they found blood in her urine and she had a serious infection. A simple urine test and prescription for antibiotics. I will never bring my family to Thornton Medical Center again. Their lack of patient concern and callous attitude is a symptom of their decline in service. Where's the care? I made an appointment to see Dr. A two weeks ago and I was very clear about the time as I had to come back from out of town for this appointment. When I got there, a very rude young man said that my appointment was for 15 minutes earlier and I would have to reschedule! He was rude, would not listen or try to help me with a time. When I called a bit later to leave a message, of course I could not get a voicemail. So am leaving this review because I would not ever return!
