First time I was here they had a kids holsters on a belt with 2 guns. I didn't buy it and I am still kicking myself for not buying it. 2nd time I was here bought a 6 million dollar man lunchbox. This time I got a cast iron clown money bank, a red rider BB gun, and other fun stuff. Spent $132.00. They always have antique toys which makes this store my favorite. They have a thriving pie business. While I was there a family came in to get a pie for a special occasion and left without looking at any antiques. They have a couple of outer buildings for antique furniture.

I was so impressed with the store that I did some thrift thing for the first time in a couple of decades. The staff was super helpful and kind, most folks there are volunteers. I was able to find a pin striped suit that fit me for $30. All I have to do is get the pants hemmed because I am short. I also got a couple of shirts, including a KC Royals shirt for five dollars because I didn't have one. Students and teachers get discounts on Friday and seniors 55+ get 25% off on Wednesdays. I love that this store works with people who are transitioning from being unhoused to housed and they let them come in and select whatever they need for their new place with no charges. For this reason, we will be making all of our donations at Hillcrest thrift store from now on.

Last two times I've been there dealt with rude employees . This last Friday was the worst . Some…read moreold man got on a mega phone and was yelling at customers in the store that they were closing in 30 minutes and the employees there have lives and want to get home to their families . Excuse me jerk, if you don't want to work there than quit !!! If you're terrified of working a few minutes late to deal with customers that are giving you money, you're in the wrong business !! Meanwhile the new store , Savers , next door actually keeps good business hours and doesn't scream rude crap at customers . Also the nasty old woman at the front counter was very rude trying to rush people out . I will never shop there again and will now donate to savers , I hope they put you out of business
