Thousand Cranes is a little pricey, but if you're a fan of Shabu-Shabu then it's a worthy place to get your healthy, soupy goodness. When it comes to Shabu-Shabu places, the real battle is really between the quality of the ingredients that they offer to you, and the amount of food that you can get for the price that you're paying. Unfortunately, Thousand Cranes loses in terms of price, as this place is kind of pricey, even if Shabu-Shabu places usually do run a little bit higher on the budget. But where they do win is the quality of their ingredients. You know that you're getting premium meat, clean and fresh vegetables, and even their squidballs taste a little bit better than your usual tusok-tusok variations on the street. Another reason why I enjoyed eating there was, despite the fact that every single table had their hot pot to a boil during that time, the ventilation was excellent. I didn't feel like I was having my meal in a spa. And we didn't smell like food when we walked out! So all in all, if you're looking to splurge on some hot pot goodness, maybe it's raining and you feel like some nice hot soup would warm your cold heart, drop by Thousand Cranes.
