Note it is a very steep set up for balcony- great for view no heads in the way - get "closer" to the stage but for those with height or falling phobias do beware! Sound was really great and if you did have to pop out during performance for some reason- they actually have monitors out in the hallway showing the stage which is nice. Being a percussionist, I was totally amped when a band mate suggested we come here for "Things that go Ding!"; a humorous performance of percussion-based vaudeville, musicals, and classical music genres. You haven't heard anything until you have heard the Aria from Carmen played on a two-octave set of taxi horns. For a percussion based musical performance, the sound in the Cabot Theater was just perfect. No matter the volume level, it was always perfectly clear and balanced. This theater seats about 350 seats with two level of boxes. It's a beautiful homage to an 18th century European opera. I was very happy with how roomy the seats were. I'm 6'4" and had plenty of legroom. Upstairs has a very nice bar area and the "black box" theater for smaller productions. I've been in there for two "Theatrical readings of Yelp Reviews" events in years past and have always thoroughly enjoyed being here. The staff is very professional, very talented, and very friendly. Prices are very reasonable and there are tons of great restaurants within walking distance. Class up your life and check out the latest events here!!

In short: Forward Theater Company presents professional, modern, progressive plays, and IT IS AWESOME! I first became aware of Forward because my roommate was their technical director. He invited me to see the play he had been working on and gave me a ticket that had been reserved for him. I love theater so I was excited to go, but had only ever really seen productions I was already familiar with (Shakespeare, Broadway stuff etc). I went in with a open mind, but wasn't totally sure what to expect. The first play I saw was From Up Here by Liz Flahive, which is partially set in a modern day high school (so it included some amateur actors as well as professional). I was BLOWN AWAY. Literally moved to tears. The set, sound, actors, script, we're all amazing. Despite the fact that I had been given a free ticket, I paid for a ticket to see that show again. I've made it a point to see every Forward show since and have never been disappointed. With modern themes (sometimes slightly provocative) I find the plays to be extremely engaging. So, I implore you -- Go see a show! You won't regret it.

We have been coming to the Dells for decades and finally did this tour. I wish more people knew about this tour and would go and see how beautiful this place is to help keep it going. $15 for a one hour+ tour for adults that includes an organist who really brought the theater to life. Our volunteer tour guide was a local who was very knowledgeable and engaging. Go see this place. You will not be disappointed! Then walk around the Baraboo shops, etc. We love coming to Baraboo whenever we are in town. If you haven't been to Baraboo on your trip to the Dells, you are missing a gem.

They have a piece of paper on display with directions on how to draw "oriental eyes". My Asian family who has been involved deeply in the conference center has complained about this multiple times now, and the craft center has failed to simply apologize and get rid of this. It is disrespectful, off putting, outdated, and just awful. Get rid of this now or you'll start losing customers and supporters. It's 2025 get with the times!
