Dennis, who was working the pro shop, was incredibly helpful and made sure we were outfitted well. It was a breeze to check in and do the rentals. We thought the pricing for the course and rentals was extremely fair! We were also so happy to have some nice and mild weather compared to our summers in Texas. It was a stunning course. On the 9th hole you are able to call ahead to have your food prepared when you finished the hole. I ended up getting a pulled pork sandwich and it was pretty good. However, I would probably try the club sandwich next time. Overall the course has a unique layout, some challenging holes, and is a great course for the value (around $70 during prime time). We could have stayed in the bar for hours during the rain that started after our round but unfortunately had to leave to get back home. Coming out here from Chicago for a guys weekend, we were welcomed by everyone at the course, which is NOT typical of other places we have visited in Wisconsin. I would highly recommend this course. Proved to have some difficult holes but was so much fun. Bathrooms are very clean, easy course to get to and no issues getting a tee time.

Overall, GLC is an excellent place to recharge your batteries, anyone who doesn't enjoy it, doesn't enjoy life to its fullest.

It fits the definition of "glamping" with all the amenities. Of course they really cram in the campsites so you are very close to everyone around you...which is ok but can hear EVERYthing the others do. The part that stood out the most was the great customer service of the staff. Always a smile and a hello. The kids all went to buy candy in the store and when realizing they were $ .11 short the wonderful lady behind the counter gave them a little wink and covered each of them...not a huge amount at $ .33 but it was a very nice gesture and the kids thought it was so great!

Finally got around to hitting this hidden gem. I've golfed just about every other course in the…read morearea - and it was time we checked out Fairfield Hills. Dealing with the staff was easy (via phone or in person) - super friendly folks with all the answers to our questions. They have a nice little practice green, and a great driving range. The whole facility is well kept. The course is in really good shape. Probably the fastest greens I've played all season. We didn't notice many (any?) weeds. The greens were clean, and the immediate rough around greens and fairway were pretty decent. The layout is fairly basic - just par 3s and 4s (for the primary 9 at least - we didn't hit holes 10, 11 or 12). The most "character" you'll find is a picturesque tee shot over a mid-fairway fountain. No dog-legs are bends on this course - all straight shots. Along with straight shots - accuracy is required as most holes are pretty tight. There's not a lot of forgiveness if you're not in the fairway. You'll be in the woods, prairie grass or, on the more "open" holes, punching out from under a tree. I'd consider playing here again. Would I pay rack rate? Probably not when I could find a round at a full par-72 course for a couple more bucks. But getting a deal helps (see various golf deal websites) If I lived close, I'd consider a membership as it's fairly affordable for what you get.

My family has been coming here for a long time and I have always loved spending time around the…read moreconference center. My complaint is regarding the craft center on the grounds. They have a piece of paper on display with directions on how to draw "oriental eyes". My Asian family who has been involved deeply in the conference center has complained about this multiple times now, and the craft center has failed to simply apologize and get rid of this. It is disrespectful, off putting, outdated, and just awful. Get rid of this now or you'll start losing customers and supporters. It's 2025 get with the times!

The forward tees were 5200 yards which is long and it felt like it. Hard for me to get on the green in regulation. The course was in good shape. Tee boxes and greens were nice. Our foursome played in about 4 hours which was a good pace. Carts had GPS for yardage. Staff was friendly. Great experience.

Was able to get drinks and refills with not too much of a wait. Buffalo Wings were solid. The clubouse had a very good patio, was cool to relax out there after our round with a bourbon. Condo was nice and clean, few amenities, balconies that back up to the fairways. The replica holes were a fun challenge. There was a very nice lady who cleaned our clubs while my group finished the 18th hole. The not so good: For what you're paying for on this course, I expect a little more. Half of the ball washers were empty, none at all had towels. Water coolers on the course were entirely empty on a hot day. Greens were not very well kept, all kinds of chunks taken out of them. Beverage cart was few and far between. One of the guys who worked there had some pace-of-play comments to make to us, even though we were keeping up with and pushing the group in front of us. Overall, had a good time but at those rates, hope you make it a little more worth our while.
