Every time I've been here, the lattes have consistently been amazing. Bold flavor, but not overly sweetened like most places. You can tell they put time into making the ratios properly. Great espresso flavor. Even when they are busy with a line to the door, they are cranking out drinks quickly and still take the time to politely address each customer's individual requests. Something I appreciate in a coffee shop. Fresh baked goods daily and not a single one is anything but amazing. I've found myself sometimes coming back for a second later in the day. My husband went here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. It has a nice cozy atmosphere. I got a pour over and got to pick my roast of beans. My husband got a cheesecake and LOVED it. It tasted better than Cheesecake Factory to me! I got a blueberry cinnamon roll. The bakery items are just amazing. The service was awesome too. I think I just found my new favorite spot! read more

The bloom's a bit off the rose. While I appreciated that some tables had "do not sit" signs to ensure social distancing, neither of the two baristas wore masks in this time of global pandemic. That's a problem. Next problem- although we were sitting in the cafe to relax with our coffees, there was no offering of an actual cup vs the cardboard option. The cups have a bit of a paper aftertaste and one of the cups was so hot, they had to put another cup on the outside of it. Now, if they'd used the actual cups, this would have been a non-issue. Last problem- there was a confusing conversation with the staff about not having the large cup, and being out of lids. We were charged the large cup price. The only bakery this time were a few burned looking scones, and the first table we sat at had uneven legs and wobbled disconcertedly, slopping coffee out of the hottest cup of coffee. If you want to be a destination coffee stop, you've got to do better. read more

I stopped in for the first time with my son to grab a coffee and see what they had for vegan options, if any. To my surprise, they had a couple of vegan food items!! It's not too common around Mason for restaraunt to accommodate vegans with even one item, so this is a huge win and a business I'll be happy to return to. :) read more

While visiting town, I needed a place to work for a couple mornings and Three on the Tree met all of my needs (and then some!). The name and decor has an automotive them which is well put together. They have a few tables, a couple booths, and a couch with chairs to give you a variety of options. The wifi was reliable, there wasn't a lot of noise, and the space is bright, open, and welcoming. It is also connected to the Market 124 shop next door, a fun place to browse. As I tea drinker, I can't speak to the coffee, but they opened up a new world in tea drinking for me with their Lapsang Souchong. I didn't know that smoked teas were a thing, but after drinking it a couple times I need to find some for home. Along with the tea and coffee, they also serve scones, quiche, and a few assorted other baked goods. I had some scone bites (a good way to sample a few of their scone flavors) and found them quite tasty. Shout-out to the woman working there for not only introducing me to the new tea, but after I told her I'd be there working for a few hours, she offered a table in the connected store if I needed a quieter place (I enjoy a bit of people-watching, so I declined, but appreciated the offer). read more

Went here to get some lunch as it's a "cafe" they only have cold soup you have to warm in the microwave. And a tiny chef salad. Anyways, I had ordered a Bubly to have with my lunch and it was flat. I went to the counter to get a new one to see if any other one and they couldn't help me. I asked if I could get a new one or a refund and they said we don't do that. Then I was about to change my baby because there was no changing table in the bathroom. (Baby was only wet, no poop) and the lady came up to me and said you cannot do that. This is a place I regularly go to with good coffee even though it is completely overpriced. Since they started hiring younger employees the service has gone to 0. I always enjoy a automotive theme. Three on the Tree is a great local coffee shop in downtown Mason City. The coffee and service were excellent. It looked like they use a local coffee supplier for their beans. I was in Mason City for a couple days and visited Three on the Tree three times.
