It's a place where you can trade in games, DVDs, mobile phones and other electronic equipment. They also sell all of these things, with some great prices. You could spend £10 and come out with a lot of things if you hunt hard enough. People will so often discredit buying pre-owned items, but for prices as low as those offered by Cex, it's difficult to say no! This time, I just popped in for a browse, though I will be visiting there next time I want a cheap film or the like. I wonder how long it will be before someone trades in an iPhone 4? One can only hope...

I do, however, have two reservations about this shop. The first is that everything here does tend on the expensive rather than on the value for money side of the equation with many of the good being cheaper elsewhere. The other reservation is a slight unfriendly atmosphere to the place - you don't quite feel welcome. Despite this it is one of the few low end electrical shops in the area, but for me a bit too over priced.

I engaged this company because I had an electricity supply failure in my kitchen. I was quoted an…read morehourly rate including VAT which I agreed to. They attended my house for no more than half a day. I expected a bill for less than £250 but received a bill for nearly twice that. They had clearly inflated the hours on the premises and when challenged they mentioned for the first time that the bill included time for them travelling to and from their workshop. They defended this by saying it was standard practice in the industry. They eventually reduced the bill to under £400. The electrician turned up promptly and were competent at diagnosing and fixing the fault. I would recommend anyone dealing with this company to get them to disclose any additional/hidden charges over and above the hourly rate.

A visit to both here and Bang & Olufsen should get you what you want at a competitive price.

If you are like me, in crushing penury, then it's a little torturous going in here, because you will want to possess everything.
