Not one of my favorite place to thrift shop!! But it is my fave place to wait at any lounge chairs they have on clearance when my fam or friends (s) love to thrift and shop for the most vintage outfits they can find for an affordable price. Surprisingly, there are deals going on a daily base on what color tags they have on sale and definitely huge discounts during the Federal Holiday which ranges from 50-70% off the tag. You can definitely find something that you want that you don't need at an affordable price. The place is somewhat messy is the reason why I deducted 2 stars and is worse than Ross. LOL! But the category of items are self explainatory as there are signs above you from household goods, to men/women's clothing/children clothing, electronics, toys, and shoes. The workers are friendly, but they are sparse and hard to find besides whoever is working at the cash register. Thank god NO SELF CHECK OUT! Also, no need to ask questions about where such and such is at, just look around at the store for what you think you may want/need as plenty of patrons usually find things and then misplaces things when they change their mind. As this throws off on where such and such is at when the workers placed them at the right place before opening the store. With that said, will I be back? Maybe. I usually come here when I am somewhat forced by family/friends to come with. LOL! Now, let me nap in peace since there is not one bit I don't need/want at this store. LOL! read more

I came in wanting one piece of clothing for $2.99 with a tag attached as I was walking up to the counter the tag fell off so I picked it up and showed it to the cashier. The cashier refused to honor it even though I clearly showed her all the tags all over the floor. She claimed to have texted her manager and the manager stated it was $5.99 even though she wasn't even in the store for me to speak with!! She didn't even see the piece of clothing I wanted. Everything is stapled at that store, if I really wanted to get one over, I could just bring a stapler. But I for 1 am an honest person. Why would I want to pay more when it was tagged $2.99 with 25% off!? Clearly trying to scam and make me pay more when it was price as marked. Got off work today and stopped into look at shorts for my daughter. I've been to this store hundred times, spent stupid amounts of money here, and was told I couldn't bring my purse with me as it was too big and it had to be taken, meanwhile some other lady who's purse wad same size as mine was left alone, and when I asked if they were gunna take hers too, they said no. I grabbed a pair of lamps...a set. Marked with a pink sticker 15.99. I remembered when I walked in I looked up to see pink sticker is 75% so I took the lamps. When I got to the register a Hispanic cashier lady was HATING that I got these lamps on sale...maybe she wanted my lamps... weirdo... and then humiliated me and insinuated I changed the price.. wthell!!!! Right to my face in front of other customers. I'm in my relaxed clothes out thrifting. I'm not a lowlife. I would never look down on her for being a thrift store cashier. So then she proceeds to humiliate another employee by asking her if she stickered USED damaged lamps for 15.99 each... she replied "YES" ...the look on her face ...angry. then she tried to be nice and finish ringing me out. This is the only thrift store for me. I have shopped here for over 20 years. Fantastic bargains, retro clothing. I picked up a TV sound bar for $12.99...oh! Make that $7.50 because it was half price Mondays! If you spend $20 on regular price weekdays, your receipt is stamped for 50% off every Sunday. Let's just say I'm addicted. I've bought expensive robes that are no longer manufactured to that quality, coats, tailored blazers, and boots. After 20 years, the list is endless. My late BF always headed for the used tools and other guy stuff. They have tons of Keurig coffee makers and air fryers that are new and yes, half price on Mondays, and Sundays if you're receipt is stamped 50% off. Can't recommend this place enough. Great quality clothing at a decent price. This isn't garage sale type clothes. Love the new finds and weekly deals they have.

Don't go there near closing but with 13 minutes left I did the other night and the clerk there told me "5 minutes before we close". If you want to get out earlier than 9 P.M. find a job at a bank, their hours are normally 9-6 but they still have to close out their tills. Does your manager or owner approve of this? I remember going to a restaurant 10 minutes til closing and the waiter/waitress stopped us at the door and said we are closed. Well, the owner let us in to the dismay of the waiter/waitress. But he told them to go home and they would take care of everything. The owner wants to make money and that is customer service. Next time I will take my business elsewhere because there is a Goodwill, Bargain World, American Cancer Society Discovery Shop, Salvation Army and Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue Thrift Shop to name a few. read more

Usually love this store, but tonight when we went, the woman working the register was wearing a sports bra that was obviously too small and a sweatshirt that was unzipped to the middle of her stomach. This USED to be my go-to thrift store. I found the best coat in the history of ever--a vintage wool tartan trench that WASN'T pup tent size--for something like $12.00 if memory serves. Come to think of it, I never left Thrifty Bargain empty-handed. Now, I get ten feet deep, canvas the barren racks, and wonder why I didn't learn my lesson in the three previous fruitless trips. I swear this isn't just revisionist history speaking, this place used to be the best. The pricing went thru the roof, and they started 50% off thursdays, which meant 40 minutes in line if you found anything worth the wait. They still get stars because they have really cleaned it up. Haven't found anything in there in awhile but still keep checking. ****TIP, from March 1st thru the 20th, I think, it's 50% everyday, and even more on Sundays *** but just means more people and less treaures. Outrageous pricing but really nice and helpful staff. They have decent merchandise but not at prices you'd expect at this worn down location. Is there an ambience option of "ghetto" that I can choose from the Yelp descriptions? The lights flicker, the organizers are abused into oblivion, and the shadows are more eerie than Ellis Lake at 2AM. Perhaps they should work on their presentation and appeal, because it's like Olivehurst status. That work will bring up their rating two stars. read more

I've been shopping here for the passed 9 yrs. I find the prices to be fair for the quality, because of the DAILY discounted prices. The staff is somewhat nice. They don't all seem very happy, but once in awhile you get a pleasant cashier. It's not the cleanest store and I think it is because they don't staff enough employees on the sales floor. One extra person working front sales floor (and I don't mean cashier) instead of the back could make a world of difference. I sometimes walk in and walk right out after I see the mess on the floor. I don't like shopping like this. I can't complain about the prices. This store consist of clothes more than anything else. The furniture is not the best, although I did find one small end table for under $10. I would still shop here. read more

They definately need to learn about customer service! Earlier this week as I went into the store, I noticed that the wipe-off board stated: blue tags 50% off, white tags 75% off, pInk tags 75% off. I found a jacket that was $14.99 with a pink tag. I went to pay and the girl behind the counter charged me full price. I told her that pink tags was supposed to be 75% off and she said "no". So I removed the wipe off board from the front window and showed her: "75% off pink tags". She said that she forgot to change it. So I said IF your sign still says "75% off pink tags", you SHOULD honor it and change it AFTER my transaction. MOST other major retailers would've honored it and changed it afterwards. The four or five people in line behind me TOTALLY AGREED that she should've honored "their/her mistake". They get all of their merchandise FOR FREE anyways and still would've made money! I finally saw the store manager today and told her what had happened and evidently one of the employees had already told her about it. All the manager said was, "it not your fault, it not her fault... sorry". HUH?!? whatever... read more
