If you want to know how amazing they are, try any other rental agency. As we were warmly welcomed at the desk in Glasgow Airport, ushered straight to our car, with impeccable service from Cameron and Josh, we laughed at the people in the Hertz line still waiting as we drove off to the Highlands. Thanks Enterprise, you're as perfect and efficient in Glasgow as everywhere else in the world I've been. Great little Audi A1 too, no complaints here either.

I showed up here early in the morning Monday morning, in order to be in Stirling by 9am and received fast and efficient service. Matthew was my point of contact and he greeted me with a smile and we had a quick chat before he brought me out to a car. At first, he put me in a small two door car, but realised it had no fuel in it, so he quickly moved me in to a larger car- a Juke (an upgrade at that) and had me on my way in no time. Since the company was paying for it, I didn't have to fuss about with much, but it's still great to have amazing customer service both when picking up the car and dropping it off. When I came in today to drop the car off, again I received the same stellar service and was in and out in no time flat! I would highly recommend this branch for anyone looking to rent a car from a company who knows what they're doing!

It was cheap as chips and the van was an old, banged-up piece of silliness. However, Thrifty turned up on my search and is actually cheaper than my old go-to! Their cars are all very clean, and the van I hired turned out to be a very nice ride. The reason they get the full five from me is that I turned up and - due to aforementioned stress - I hadn't sorted out everything I needed for the hire (read your documentation, people!). However, they were incredibly friendly and helpful and were able to get me going after all. The car worked perfectly, the people were friendly and efficient, the price was more than reasonable and that's about it! Can't really say fairer than that! Perfectly situated for people travelling into Edinburgh as well, so would definitely recommend.

I was referred to them through the visiting the UK Facebook group, everybody's recommendation was excellent, some said a little pricey, but the customer service, peace of mind and everything that went along with it made it all that more worthwhile. We rented a car, 9 days, picked up a Milton Keynes England, dropped off at Heathrow airport. Took the train from London, Steve. Our reservation guy even provided us with emailed instructions on how to get to the pickup, drop off locations and our hotel all by train until we picked up our car a few days after arrival. We out there for the full insurance even though our Visa card covers insurance, was not that expensive and worthwhile for the peace of mind. We had no mechanical issues, brand new Kia with about 15,000 mi on it. Was allotted 250 mi a day, we drove north all through Scotland, England, Wales and back to Heathrow with no issues. Definitely recommend this company if you want. Peace of mind and if you're all about customer service, which is extremely important when you're visiting a foreign country from your own. The guy who dropped us off at the airport from Heathrow was awesome as was Steve, our original guy we booked with. We opted for the dash cam and found that it did not have one when we went to drop the car off because we wanted the SD card which you are able to buy. When picking up the guy said there was one in there, pointing to the dashboard, not being familiar with their system. System I took his word for it. We truly wanted the dash cam so we can have a view of our last few hours of driving to take home with us. Other than that, absolutely perfect rental for us.

It cost about $72 USD per day, which I thought was a great value. Checking in and out was relatively easy through Arnold Clarke, their contractor. I didn't like that no one welcomed us when we came in, leaving us to stand awkwardly until they decided to pay us attention. Drop off was easy and they shuttled us to the airport. Our flight was first canceled, then the next flight in was delayed and we arrived to the Glasgow…read moreairport later than anticipated. Hertz had closed at 4 pm (16:00) , without any explanation as to what we were supposed to do. No one would answer any phone line, and no representatives were around to answer questions. There was a sign on the door with an email address (though they did not respond to our email) and hours posted. They said they would open at 8 am, but other workers here said that may not be accurate. We were forced to take a cab and come back in the morning, but wanted to call to confirm our reservation before traveling back to the airport. We called several times throughout the morning, with no answer. Finally, near 12 pm, we were able to get through to a person. They said they saw our reservation, and to come on down to get the car. We took another cab, and arrived to find a long line of customers waiting. We finally got to the front of the line, and they said they had so many other reservations queued up that they couldn't even pull ours up. They were missing cars, and awaiting cars to arrive back in the lot; first come first serve to the customers who were there before us. We are still here waiting now, hoping and praying we are able to get a car that matches our reservation. We have been here for 30 min so far already. We are likely going to miss plans we had for later this afternoon. This is quickly becoming a regular routine with Hertz.

'Haste' was not part of the Sixt experience, with me being forced to listen to all the upgrade options I had declined online. 'Luxury' was also not part of the Sixt experience, with me ordering an Audi A1 or similar, and ending up with a Citroen. They wanted me to pay double to be put in an Audi. Typical bait and switch. Damage tracking is insane, on return the advisor noted a scuff, and we were both confused because previous damage in the same area had been reported; but it was supposed to be giant scratch... which neither of us could find.

We rented from SIXT and deeply regret it. Two big complaints and it is easy to find numerous…read morereviews online that say the same thing. 1. Trying to charge us for pre-existing damage. The initial paperwork showed the damage (4" scratches to all wheels). The turn-in paperwork showed no new damage noted. We soon started getting communications saying that we had caused damage and needed to pay. They even included threats to get the money from our credit card company. We sent copies of the paperwork substantiating that the damage was already there, and they backed off but never apologized. 2. Upgrade to more expensive car. When we arrived, they said our reserved car was not ready as we were early but that they could provide another comparable car at a comparable but slightly higher price. Tired from a long flight, we decided to go with the replacement vehicle which turned out to be more than double the price (£1900 vs £860). I emailed the complaints department but have still not heard back from them after more than two weeks. While I can take ownership of not trying to find and compare the rates, the misrepresentation of "slightly higher" was clearly intentional and preying upon exhausted travelers. The big difference from American car rentals is that stick shifts are way cheaper than automatics in Scotland, but with the high price of gas it makes sense. We rented a car there 2 wkds in a row and the second wkd we got a diesel car, which definitely saved on gas (so u should try to request it). The service was fabulous. I was meeting my bf there and before he even got there the sales guy had me in the car ready to go!

I would rent shoes if I could…read more Rented from Hertz 5 or 6 times now and never had any hassle whatsoever. The staff are effortlessly polite and knowledgeable. The prices are also amazing (pay online) with discounts seemingly all the time. A few times we picked up a car without a full tank of gas without knowing, and have received generous discounts off of our next rental. Can't argue. Last time we went, we even got a lift into the city centre from one of the staff members as it was raining. What more do you want? Surprisingly personal service for such a huge name. Will carry on using them for the forseeable future as I personally don't need a car living and working in Glasgow.
