I purchased a large Peace Lily for a funeral in Sept 2025. Upon arriving at the funeral home and seeing the lily that was delivered, I was shocked and embarrassed that Thrifty Florists Westland would ever sell and deliver a Peace Lily with absolutely no lilies on the plant. The delivered plant looked more like a bush rather than like a Peace Lily. It seemed that they grabbed the worst lily on their floor and sold it off to get rid of it. Store a management refused to provide any support. I do NOT recommend Thrifty Florists Westland MI. read more

We just had a family member die and my cousin went to Thrifty Florist to order for us while I was on the phone because I live way up North and was turned away because she can not wear a mask! She was not asked if she medically could not wear a mask she was just told she had to wear one or could not enter. Very sad for this business they just lost thousands in revenue. read more

We wanted a nice Terrarium for a funeral and decided to try Thrifty Flowers as we drove by. They had a nice setup with plenty of displays and suggestions. Their Terrarium selection was slim and I was informed that they could not have a bigger one prepared by the next day. As I was about to leave the helper at the counter suggested calling the store in Dearborn Heights to see if they might have what I wanted. Lo and behold they had the requested arrangement and it was delivered as promised and looked very nice. I may or may not go back to Thrifty Flowers. I got what I wanted, but it felt more like by chance than by excellent customer service. Three stars and I may be back... read more

I have never been to Thrifty. Whan a young man passed (boy), hit by a car. They stood up and donated a blanket for the casket. I will be doing all my buying of flower arrangements from here on out at Thrifty. They care about community. And again thank you for your generous donation. read more

This place was really great. We were in town for a loved ones funeral and TF rocked. They were really understanding and polite when we placed the order. The flowers arrived fine and they were beautiful. You couldnt have found a bad bloom if you tried. I really appreciated their awesome service. Thrifty as a company and their product is amazing in my opinion, the employees IN store are very nice too. However, I just used a woman from the Westland location, I won't name drop on here out of respect & because I'm a nice person. She was amazing the first meeting, very energetic very nice and very helpful. She was nice to talk to and very easy going. The night of my wedding reception, is when that opinion of her changed. Now before I say this, my centerpieces and bouquets were beautiful, they really were, they just were not what I had asked for and not what we discussed. I had asked for white hydrangeas, hot pink roses, and star gazer Lilies with dark gray bands around the cylinder vases. I had all but two, she gave me white roses, and not pink roses. And did not include the dark gray band around all of them, only the ones on the head table had gray bands. I had waited until she arrived so that I could say hello and say thank you, and I had very nicely mentioned the white rose versus pink rose situation, from that moment she was rude, sarcastic, and down right disrespectful with her smart ass attitude. Because it was my wedding night I had kindly walked away to go enjoy my night with my husband. My mother had paid for all of this, and she had said hello to her and got the same attitude. Told my mother that she needed to hurry up and grab all of our vases and candle votives before the hall kicked us out because of time. My mom had also politely told her that she didn't have the things to put them in (I mean who would?) and that this woman had all of the packaging for it (it was ours but she had them because she set the entire place up) and that she didn't understand why she had paid all of this money and she was the one who had to clean it up? I mean, we DID pay for a service am I wrong? My mom then said you know we can get in touch tomorrow and meet up somewhere so we could pick them up from the florist, this woman told my mom she didn't have a phone anymore and she would call whenever she got to it basically... This all happened Friday night may 13th 2016.... It's now Wednesday and I JUST was able to pick up my belongings. After my mom tried to call her, no answer surprise surprise, then after a phone call to corporate, my mom instantly got a call from the woman. She proceeded to raise her voice at my mom and say that we were wrong and she gave us what we wanted and basically acted like it was an oh well too bad kind of situation. She then told my Mom that she told us to pick it up from the Westland location, and that it had been there since Saturday. But she never told us to do that; she told us she had no phone and that she would call us. I apologize for the paragraph, or mini novel I should say but I really felt as if I needed to put my situation out there. I am not one to complain about things and do reviews at all, but I really was disappointed with the service I was provided with, Thrifty as a company is great, they truly are.. It's this woman that works for them who is just down right awful. read more

I have always been happy to shop at the local Thrifty store and purchase a lot of flowers and gifts as I am a Realtor and put them in my houses I rent out. I decided to order on line as my mother in law was very sick. I ordered Friday to have them delivered Saturday. Long story short they did not get delivered. Monday is a holiday and they told me now she would not get them till Tuesday. I asked for a refund and then they tell me up to 5 days for a refund to be credited back. Absolutely ridiculous! No guarantee that what you order will be delivered when needed. I am glad these were not for somones funeral. read more

My fault on this one. Guess "Thrifty" means Budget Florist. Service was unenthusiastic (they didn't seem to care that I was there.) Product? Let's just say that nothing available was gift worthy and that which I bought (I was in a hurry and paid the price...again my fault) was borderline o.k.. Florists are getting harder and harder to find. So if you're in a pinch Thrifty flowers (they're a chain shop) is o.k., but just o.k.. Looking for something more? Look elsewhere. read more

These guys are artists. I ordered a arrangement for a co-workers fathers funeral. Gave them a dollar amount we'd like to spend and made the arrangement, type of flower and whether it was in a vase or a basket all the designers choice. And they didn't disappoint, they amazed. Our company went with a competitors flowers, the quality wasn't the same, neither was the size. Thrifty Florist in Westland has become our go to people for flowers. read more
