Thrills From the Grill catered both my rehearsal dinner and wedding at Barclay Villa. From day one Belo and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was more than I ever hoped it would be, and the food was absolutely delicious! Most of my family is from North Carolina and my husband's family is from Maryland. Both families love to eat, so I wanted to have some "real food" at both events. Haha. Belo made sure that everyone had more than enough to eat and the perfect combinations of choices and ingredients that everyone would be happy. They even made special accommodations for my sister in law who cannot have any dairy products. One of my favorite dishes is shrimp and grits, so I decided to have that as one of the dishes at cocktail hour for the wedding. Thrills From the Grill had a shrimp and grits martini bar that was gorgeous, and made grit lovers out of numerous family members that didn't believe in them. They were raving about how delicious they were and were asking for more! From the "special" arnold palmer drinks, shrimp and grits martinis, fresh fruit skewers with honey-yogurt dipping sauce, grilled hand-cut steaks, to the roasted garlic mashed potatoes with Jack Daniel's demi-glace and so much more...the food was absolutely amazing. However, the wonderful thing about Thrills from the Grill is not only is their food amazing, but their staff is as well! They took care of every detail for me, and did it with a smile on their faces. We actually chose Thrills from the Grill because we were at a wedding and were wowed by the food. Generally I HATE catered food at weddings because it's never fresh and it all has a bland flavor where everything tastes the same (not sure how caterers get the chicken and mashed potatoes taste the same) but the Thrills from the Grill's food from that wedding was AMAZING! We loved that they cooked it on-site and it was fresh. So we knew we had to have them as our caterer for our wedding. The whole team was great to work with. From helping us find a venue to host our reception, to working with us on the food selection, to helping us determine the number of plates and glassware, tables, and table clothes we needed, to helping figure out the alcohol count, to helping us figure out the itinerary for the reception. The walk through at the venue 2 weeks before was a great help for us in organizing/coordinating everything else for the reception. They made this part of wedding planning so relaxing and easy. Not to mention, the food was also AMAZING at our wedding. My mom initially was like, seriously, bbq for a wedding? And let me tell you, it was rustic chic and delicious. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Thrills from the Grill! Belo, Johnny, and team are simply phenomenal! They are extremely responsive via email and phone. They listen to your thoughts, input, and concerns. They really want to make your day exactly how you want it. We had a somewhat funny request to serve all vegetarian food to our guests, who were almost all meat eaters. We were concerned about ensuring the food was hearty and savory. . . so not all lettuce wraps! Belo and his team took on the challenge with enthusiasm and had fun crafting a delicious and satisfying menu. Our guests loved it! Some of them didn't even notice that it was all veg. The food was outstanding, the service was extremely professional and Belo and his team are incredibly kind and thoughtful. Johnny handled a lot of the details leading up to the event and bartended for us. He did an awesome job! WE COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER TREAT!!! From our very first encounter with Belo and his staff, we were welcomed into their "Thrills Family," with friendly smiles and great attitudes. Belo worked to establish a great menu that lent itself to our diverse backgrounds and personalities... With that said we arrived at a fun menu with a mix of meatloaf and mashed potatoes like you've never had (my favorite dish) and a nice Caribbean flavored grilled chicken with roasted veggies and breads to compliment for the main course. Oh, and let's not forget guests enjoyed macaroni and cheese balls with island shrimp skewers before the party really got started. Words can't express how amazing Belo and his team were to work with. From the very beginning when he said he would do Chicken and Waffles- I was so excited to work with them. They certainly delivered an amazing menu and presence at the wedding. From the menu, the tasting and then being served at our wedding - I can't thank them enough for making the day perfect. Everyone loved the food - it is something that they will always talk about - andwe will never forget the perfect food on our day. Thrills From The Grill recently catered my daughter and new son-in-law's wedding reception. I have not had the pleasure of meeting the owners, but John, who was our caterer from the business, was outstanding in every way. He kept me informed every step of the way and kept me on track with decision-making (since I hadn't planned a wedding reception since my own "long ago" ;) The set-up was on-time and the food and beverages were delicious. My entire experience with Thrills from the Grill, from the very 1st phone call to the end of the Memorial Service, was extremely positive. Margaret, Belo, and their manager John worked out all the details based on my requests so that I didn't have to worry about anything. All the guests (around 100) raved about the meal which included freshly grilled beef , chicken, and fish and many sides. A variety of desserts were offered including delicious apple cobbler.
