After a short wait upon arrival, they separated me from my boyfriend and took me back to a consultation room to make sure that the pregnancy was not a result of anything non-consensual. After a urine pregnancy test, they called us back to the consultation room and read us the results of the test. The staff was very patient and incredibly informative. They handed me every pamphlet under the sun about abortion, adoption and resources for new mothers. Then they took us back to a room for an ultrasound to find out how far along. There is a 60" TV on the wall, impossible to ignore & right in front of the chair you lay on. IF YOU DONT WANT TO SEE THE BABY, TELL THEM TO TURN OFF THE SCREEN & SOUND. They have the sound on too, to hear the heartbeat. I wish someone had told me that prior, because I'm not going to lie, it was traumatic. I cried for days over it, I did not want to be pregnant, and I did not want to see the baby. It was traumatic for my boyfriend too. They are legally required to ask you if you would like for them to shut the monitor off, they did not ask me that. (Hindsight, amIright?) ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF. The picture of the ultrasound they gave me says "BABY!!!" on it in the middle of the photo. They tried talking me into keeping it. Please be careful when you come here. If they ask what you have decided, tell them you're undecided and you don't want to talk about it with them. Also, NONE OF THEM HAVE MEDICAL LICENCES. There are NO NURSES & NO DOCTORS here. NONE. If you have any medical questions, call your doctor.
