My kid worked with Christine, the speech-language pathologist, on a stutter that developed when he was in late elementary school. By the time he was in middle school, it was something he wanted to seek help with, so we reached out to Kids Innovative. I was a little concerned that they might not take my kid because he was so much older than the kids in the pictures on their website! And yes, it's true that Kids Innovative seems to skew toward younger kids -- we saw a lot of preschool- and elementary-aged kids during our visits. My kid was usually the oldest in the waiting room. But I think it's because speech and occupational impairments tend to present themselves at a younger age. Nevertheless, they DO take older kids, and bonus: they DO take many kinds of insurance! Very few speech therapy places take insurance, so it was a huge relief to find this place. A year of working with Christine helped my kid tremendously. She was patient, kind and always available to answer questions, and very flexible with her schedule. She would give us "homework" to work on or ideas to think about, which I appreciated. Eventually, my kid aged out of Kids Innovative, and Christine gave us a recommendation for a more specialized therapist who works with older kids. So we've transitioned to a new therapist, but I'll always be thankful for the help we got at Kids Innovative.

We had nothing but an amazing and highly professional experience and our 2,5 yr old was very sad when we no longer needed the weekly speech sessions because his speech developed so well thanks to Jill's skills. Until this day, she loves to hear updates on our son's milestones. I truly cannot say enough good words about our experience and highly recommend Jill and Talking Time.

Our family was introduced to Talking Time through First Steps. We had the pleasure of working with…read moreseveral very talented Therapists assigned to us though First Steps. When our child aged out of a First Steps Talking Time agreed to allow for us to pay for ongoing outpatient care for our child at school and home. This care continued for two years and in that time we experienced high turn over with the Speech Theripists assigned to our child. Our child's outpatient Speech Therpy sessions became unpredictable and on several occasions our Speech Therapist didn't show up. Then to our disappointment with no notice we were told that Talking Time could no longer provide services to our special needs child. Failure to provide our family adequate notice left us scrambling to find alternative speech therapy for our child. Our family has paid this school thousands of dollars. Disappointing ending to a long and expensive relationship that was very important to our family and our child.
