She was very helpful and went over several details of the course and what I was getting when I signed up. Additionally, she provided me with a great example of how the live online course format worked in order to prepare me for the experience of using it for my course. After I registered and paid for the first of three payments, I got a box from Veritas in the mail that included 12 course books, an essential guide to some of the top MBA programs, and a dry erase packet and pen that mimics what you'll get on test day. You also get instant access to your online student portal after you register. To be honest, Veritas gives you so many resources that it's initially overwhelming. They do a great job of giving you first steps that helps you work through the student portal and the books systematically. This is mostly given to you in the first of the course books. With these learnings, it becomes very easy to use the online portal effectively. Chris was truly a wonderful instructor. I don't know how he does it but it really feels like he gets to know his students throughout the course. He gets really good at letting each of us know what we were probably thinking when we selected an incorrect answer. It's creepy but in a good way... although still creepy enough that we talked about it class. How does he know?! He was great at entertaining us through our lessons with stories about his past students and experiences as a GMAT instructors. Our incentive to do well during class was a $10 Amazon gift card. You'd think it was small enough not to matter but everyone in class is trying to get a 700+ GMAT score and get into B-school which means they're all incredibly competitive. Overall, Veritas Prep gave me the instruction and structure I was missing in my GMAT prep. The curriculum doesn't offer any shortcuts. It's meant to give you the tools you need to understand concepts and strategies at a deeper level. After two weeks of practicing post-class, I can see the difference in my thought process with practice problems. I highly recommend not only Veritas Prep but any course with Chris Kane!

You would be at a huge disadvantage not to invest a lot of time into your preparation. Veritas helps you make the absolute most of that time. I was able to improve my first practice test score by 50 points to a 760. I knew that test prep classes had a reputation for not being as beneficial to high scorers (sorry if that comes off arrogant, but I did score pretty highly!), but Veritas is different. And their 99th percentile restriction for instructors is the difference. I had complete confidence that my instructor, Matt Douglass, knew the answer to any question I came across. He also brought incredible energy to a marathon sprint through some very dry material. He's a difference maker. Good luck!

Between Brightwheel updates, photos, messages, and seeing the teachers every day at drop-off and pick-up, we always felt connected and supported. It truly felt like we had partners helping us through some of the most important years of our kids' lives. The staff are all SUPER friendly (no seriously, they always say hi and tell me to have a nice day!), it's a clean place, and a overall great place to study. I like it because it's close to home (i live in foothill), I can print here for only 5 cents per page, and there's always tutoring fore every subject and/or rescomp here when I need it (I haven't used the rescomp services here yet so I can't comment on that). There's even study rooms in the back you can use for individual or group study. Wish I could have discovered this place earlier!

READ BEFORE TAKING A COURSE WITH UC BERKELEY…read more I'd like to provide some candid feedback about an extremely negative experience with UC Berkeley Extension, in the hope that others might think twice before taking a course here. The course I took suffered from 2 major problems: 1. The online class component of the course was non-existent: The UC Berkeley Extension Zoom account didn't work and so students couldn't access the online classes 2. The written components of the course (quizzes, writing assignment instructions, etc.) were riddled with typos and confusingly written sentences that made assignments nearly impossible to complete. The average across the class for the first quiz was a D-/F, not because the content was difficult, but because questions were so hard to interpret and so bizarrely written I promptly dropped the course and sent 15 screenshots of errors and issues in the course to the UC Berkeley Extension administration, in the hope that they might be able to take the feedback on board and improve the offering moving forward. Professionalism is key in this context and the course was devoid of it. UC Berkeley Extension administration seem completely uninterested in receiving feedback and improving the course. Moreover, they are contesting my refund request, despite the truly awful experience with all documentation provided. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for online courses. I have recently enrolled in a course through UCLA Extension and the experience has been professional and seamless - an absolute pleasure.

Michael is cheerful, upbeat, endlessly patient, and understands how to teach math to students who have trouble with even basic concepts. He'll explain things from multiple angles and go over it with you as many times as you need to understand. I went from a D to an A-, which was immensely confidence-boosting. To this day math is still my least favorite subject, but if I had the opportunity to take another tutoring session with him I'd do it in an instant. For all the students out there struggling with math: It'll be hard to find a better, more patient, more understanding teacher than Michael.
