As far as wood goes, they have so much to choose from! It's a DIY gold mine! I could see myself using SO MUCH of the cool stuff they have in there. The part I really enjoyed, though, was the upstairs. It was filled with antiques, odds and ends, vintage housewares - just a bunch of really neat stuff! I wish I had more projects for some of the stuff I saw! I definitely recommend stopping by here, even if you don't have any projects in mind. Really awesome stuff, and the staff was super awesome too! We had never been in, so the first person we saw greeted us and told us where we could find everything, depending on what we were looking for. I thought that was really nice.

I found the store without problem, it is in a plaza which also has a food Co-Op. The Goodwill is clean, well organized and pretty much what you expect, plenty of clothing, a nice selection of home goods and decor. I was impressed with the selection of computer related equipment at this store; they had a large selection of computer printers which were in good condition. I had been looking for an Epson printer that uses specific ink refills since I had them on hand. I was lucky enough to find exactly the printer I was looking for and it was priced at $5. When I got the printer home it worked well, just needed to install the software and have the printer clean the printer heads. While not the most recent printer, this was a great buy and made my day. Well worth checking out if you are thrifting, especially if looking for computer related equipment.

It's not on the main drag like you might expect, but just off of it, making it easy to find and park. It has a bit of an odd layout but they have plenty of stuff, and it was all well organized. Great prices, too. The store was clean and the staff was friendly. I will absolutely be coming back whenever I'm in the area.

As far as donating- -don't expect them to lift a finger as…read moreyou unload your car, even when there's 10+ bags. -don't expect a thank you, no matter how many hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of items you've graciously donated. -you'll likely also have to search for an employee to even accept the items, while the donation bay is marked "open." -expect them to keep some of the items you've donated, if they find them valuable (I've seen that happen several times.) -if you ask for a receipt for documentation reasons, they'll send you off in search of one amongst their bins. Good cause but they've burned me one too many times. The ungrateful, unhelpful attitudes are extremely off putting. I'll be donating elsewhere from now on. Plenty of other options.

One thing that makes this store stand out amongst the other cute little boutiques in Stoughton is that they offer cooking classes! I've always wanted to take a cooking class or two but never pulled the trigger until last night. I attended a pie making class instructed by Susie. The class size was limited to about 10 people. The owner or staff member Kim was a wonderful host offering water, and complimentary wine. The class I attended was partial hands on, which was perfect. Although I did notice some of their classes are demonstration only. We tried 3 different savory pies, a desert pie, and even got to take home a fruit pie we made ourselves. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to sign up for my next class!

Tried to donate three furniture pieces. Came 10 days ago to pick up and refused due to wet grass…read more(was dry). Called Michelle. Who said she would be out Monday to pick up, personally. She was a no-show. Called to find out she was off. Called main number Tuesday. Henry said they would pick up Wednesday. They showed up Wednesday an hour late, but I wasn't concerned because there was snow on the ground and I knew they would refuse again, legitimately. Called Michelle, she was told I would move the three pieces to my garage. That conversation never took place. Lots of communication issues here and I have wasted 10 days time.

I'll say that you shouldn't go in with expectations hoping you'll find something same day. However, I've already been back more than once this week and I keep leaving with things I need! I got this couch for $100 and I feel lucky! One of the legs could use replacement for aesthetics but it is sturdy in its current state even if don't fix it. I also picked up a table (I'm using it as an end table) for $15 because it was missing 4 nuts to attach the top to the legs. It had a few scratches on the table top but a little sharpie fixed it. I went in again and found a nice circular mirror for $35. I've been super pleased with my finds. Things are constantly being added so if you love something that much, buy it! Not everything is a "deal" per say but you can find some good things here. Check out their Facebook page as they've been a little bit more active on adding some of the things they've been selling which got me into their actual store!

Need a traditional felted Tyrolean hat, they've got you covered. We had a great time wandering around the store and collecting a few items that made us happy. On our exploration, we discovered the well stocked tap room in the back of the store and enjoyed a long Thursday "off season" conversation at the bar with the owner, John. This conversation was only made better with a guided tour of the well decorated bathroom and some serious kitten time with the two rescued shop kittens in residence, Shark and Sardine. The Rusty Raven did not disappoint and should absolutely be a destination on your next trip to New Glarus!

Even better, the place is named the Rusty Raven AND they had an Edgar Allan Poe t-shirt with a raven on it...just not in my size. They had some antiques sprinkled in with a lot of new merchandise (stickers, mugs, coonskin koozies, greeting cards, books, games, magnets, bags, and wallets). They also had some candy including candy cigarettes and cold beverages, plus a side room where some people were hanging out and having some drinks. There was a lot of stuff packed into the little shop, and it's worth a stop.
