My sweet Shiney had TPLO surgery just recently. I had a Golder Retriever that had same surgery 15…read moreor so years ago. He cried in pain, whimpered for days and I felt so guilty and thought I would never do that to a dog again. I found out about Dr Acker and found out how recommended he was for this surgery. So we drove the 8h to meet him. I was amazed! His sincerity eased my mind, he took alot of time explaining the surgery, showed us pictures and post operative care etc. We went ahead to surgery. She is doing great, still needs more time for rehab before hikes etc BUT I personally was so impressed with her pain control. It was managed so well, Dr Acker performed a femoral nerve block during surgery, she had a fentanyl pain patch afterward, anti-inflammatory pain pill and a nerve pain pill Neurontin. We were so very impressed with Dr Acker and his team I highly recommend them for your pet family if you need him.

Concerned, I asked Dr. Jeremiah about Stelfonta, an injection treatment that worked well for my brother's dog in Nevada. Instead of discussing it, Dr. Jeremiah lectured me about relying on internet research over his 20 years of experience. I apologized, explaining I meant no disrespect and offered to be the first client of his to try Stelfonta, even providing the website and offering to take daily photos of the process he could have for his use (stelfonta.com). He claimed familiarity, comparing it to a horse cream, despite my clarification that it's an injection. He convinced me to proceed with surgery to remove the mass, promising to research Stelfonta and use it if it recurred. A week later, the night before surgery, I completed an electronic form with my dog's photo and my contact information. The next morning, the understaffed clinic required a new photo and re-entered my information due to a system issue. Dr. Jeremiah, when asked what he thought about Stelfonta, again referenced a cream, showing he hadn't researched it as promised. I regret not taking my dog and leaving then. I waited for a pickup call that never came. At 4 p.m., I called and learned they had my cell number wrong, despite having it correct on the form I had filled out from home. Post-surgery, I used an inflatable cone alternative (D&B $30), two people stopped to ask where I had found it and what it cost. I was told it was much more affordable than the clinic's options. Two weeks later, my 86-lb shepherd mix refused to go back into the clinic for stitch removal, panicking. Unable to carry him in, I removed the stitches myself at home. I'm so very disappointed by my experience here.

The whole facility is very eco-friendly and self-sufficient. The building has built solar panel and smart spray system to save energy and water. They also have different rooms for you to meet with your potential pets. You can either take the dog to playground, or they them to outdoor with or without leash, or you can meet in the acquiescence nook for more intimate interactions. With cats, you can also meet them at the cat cafe to enjoy some purring time. They offer FREE spay and neuter services for dogs and cats. They also have their own medicine area and lab to run tests for animals. Their program is really well-designed and their volunteers are super friendly. They have hiking buddies program where they take dogs out on hikes to bring more awareness of adoption. Also provide many trainings to teenagers and the community. Needless to say, dogs and cats are extremely adorable. I strongly recommend everyone to visit and support this place.
