After an hour or so, I was informed the snake was getting stuck, and he had to call a camera guy in. Camera guy informs me that tree roots have damaged my line and a 30' section needs to be replaced to the tune of over 9k. I called a small local company for a second opinion. It wasn't tree roots - the line itself was broken and everything was draining into the dirt, hence the backflow when there was more water than could be quickly absorbed. They recommended the same amount of line be replaced, but for half the price.

The team quickly removed their shoes at the front door without being asked (not my general experience with many repair teams) and started working. They finished almost precisely at 90 minutes despite a minor complication. (The basement/toilet drain was not draining well which they augered out.) It was explained to me that it was likely a combination of time and a 20-year-old toilet (which did not generate enough force). Other than minimal dust and grime, they did not leave any bigger messes for me to clean up. They were professional, and their price was well aligned with other companies.
