A girl working in the counter was super friendly and nice. The items they sell here are great value and really nice. We have a few pieces at home. You will absolutely enjoy them. It was beautifully done. I left the store with a beautiful, one of a kind quilt ( which she moved an entire dining room setup so I could have my favorite one, without a hint of hesitation), a baby shower gift, a hand knit sweater and a candle. The owner of this shop charges more for tax then the Seldovia rate and doesn't give customers a…read morereceipt. My husband paid cash for a 30.00 earring purchase and was charged 4.00 tax. The previous customer paid with a credit card and asked for a receipt. The female owner said, you want a handwritten one? Acting like it was a pain for her. The patron said I guess not that's ok (not appearing to be difficult). I went back into the store and asked, what is the tax rate for Seldovia? She said 9.5 %. I told her I was overcharged 4 dollars on a 30.00 dollar purchase. She played dumb and said, I only charge what my register says. I also told her she is practicing very poor business practices not giving receipts to patrons. I doubt she is paying/claiming her tax revenues correctly to the state of Alaska. Don't shop here. The receipt I asked for didn't even have a date or time on it (included in the photo).
