Tia and Claire were so great to work with as photographers for our wedding! We were fortunate to have both Tia and Claire work with us on our wedding at Viansa Winery in October. They were all about capturing natural moments which was what we really wanted. We spent time with Claire in advance of our wedding on our engagement photos. Originally, we didn't really plan to do engagement photos because we only had a six month engagement and didn't think there was any point. But I am actually really glad we did them because it helped us learn to get comfortable having our photo taken. Claire also photographed our church wedding which turned out great as well. We ended up getting a couple of our favorite shots from that day which was a nice bonus. It was a pleasure to spend our wedding day with both Tia and Claire. As the wedding photographer is the vendor you end up spending the most time with on your wedding day, it's really important that you like them. They put us at ease, and were there for us but without being too invasive. It was actually really comforting to have them with us most of the day, they are lovely people! Tia and Claire have an absolutely amazing and professional operation that I would go back to time and time again anytime we need professional photography. My wife and I knew photography of our wedding would be the most important thing we could spend money on, to make sure the moments are captured and will stay with us for a life time, evoking the memory and emotion everytime we look at them. To say that Claire achieved this for us in a way that was easy and un-intrusive is an understatement. We hired Tia and Claire to do our photography for our wedding this June at Vine Hill House in Sebastopol. If I could give them a billion stars...I would, so five it is. When we first met with them, they were incredibly laid back and professional, but not so much that they seemed cold (which happened with some of our other potentials). Both Tia and Claire personally were awesome - amazing and fun women just to hang out with. They listened to what we were looking for and had loads of suggestions and were also very patient. We knew nothing about photography - and they knew everything! We were looking for "real" pictures as much as "posed" ones. We wanted the experience captured, the silly moments, but at the same time, nice photos (obviously). I'm not sure we could have gotten anyone better. On the day of, it POURED, complete straight heavy rain, all morning. We were having an outside wedding, so a lot of our plans began to change, including the photography. Now, I should mention that when they arrived around two for our evening wedding, they had driven straight up from Monterey that morning after doing an event the previous night. They didn't even stop, nope they just kept on working. These ladies are so dedicated and committed! When they arrived it was still raining. Now, not once did either of these ladies appear concerned about the rain. Nope they had it all under control and were ready to go, with brand new creative ideas, suggestions, and plans to work with the rain, not to just "try and save the day". We took a lot of our shots early (which if you can do, do it. Enjoy your cocktail hour and friends and family). For some reason that only the universe knows - it stopped raining once we finished getting ready. And they were on top of it super fast, brainstorming and creating new visions and ideas, it was amazing. They managed to take advantage of the now grey sky and the beautiful location that now shined. THE SHOTS WERE AMAZING. They knew exactly what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. I was worried about the rain, even after it stopped raining. But I had no reason to be. The pictures are perfect, the lighting, everything. The way we are posed, the many times where were not. They rocked that rain like there was no tomorrow. I cannot on any level recommend them enough. They were so encouraging and calming when I was trying to hide my worries, and so patient when I had no idea what they were asking me to do, and so wonderfully funny. Our photos are perfect. The day was perfect. These ladies are awesome. If you listen to them, and take advantage of their creativity and years of knowledge, you will be so grateful when you see your photos. They know what they're doing. And to top it all off, they're both just fun people anyway. In many ways, because we chatted and laughed like friends do, they were guests as well as one of the vendors. My raving about them is long and detailed. But it's your wedding, and more information is better than less. The wedding I planned didn't include the rain, but Tia and Claire made it look like I did. Because we all know weddings don't ever just simply go according to the plan, it is vital that you hire people who can deal with the random situations, and not just manage them, but who take advantage of it! Nonetheless, Claire contacted me and offered to meet us after work in San Francisco. Two stars for that! I was absolutely blown away by how incredibly professional and talented Claire was from our initial phone call through our engagement photos and then particularly at our wedding. She works fast (which you definitely want during your wedding so you can spend time with your guests) and is extremely organized. If you haven't been in a wedding before, you might not know that trying to get big groups of slightly (or heavily) drunk people into formation for group photos or portraits is like herding cats. We hired Tia & Claire to photograph our wedding in June 2014 and we can't say enough wonderful things about our pictures and our experience working with them. As evidenced by their website, they are a super talented team but also really, really great to work with. Of the many wedding vendors that we worked with, Tia and Claire were among our favorites. First and foremost, our wedding pictures are stunning. And more than just being stylistically beautiful, they captured so many beautiful moments--our pictures really showcase just how incredibly happy (and excited!) we were on our wedding day. I was amazed at how well those emotions come across in our photographs. (At the risk of sounding overly sappy, our pictures take my breath away.) Secondly, I was surprised how comfortable I felt in front of the camera. (I should mention that we opted not to do engagement photos because I absolutely dread taking pictures.) There were so many pictures taken when I wasn't even aware I was being photographed and those ended up being among my favorite pictures. Claire and Tia photographed our wedding and I whole heartedly agree. The pictures came out really great. They captured the moments and the emotions so well, some even better than the video. Tia and Claire were such a pleasure to work with. They were really onboard with what we wanted to get out of the pictures. They even agreed to accommodate our break between the ceremony and reception at no additional cost. The best part was when they came to our house after the ceremony and we did some fun pictures, like me doing dishes with an apron in a wedding dress, or us on the couch reading newspapers. They were just so much fun to work with. They also did a great job getting lingering guests out of the way when we did the formal pictures, and during the rest of the wedding they managed to get all the best shots while at the same time not interfering with the wedding and not pushing guests out of the way I've seen it at other weddings. They posted pictures online for us in less than 3 weeks, and we are getting a DVD with all the pictures from them. They are not cheap. But for the price we got two photographers (rather than assistants) for 7 hours, and almost 1000 pictures. So I thought that they were very much worth it. read more

My husband and I were married in July, 2011 at Solage in Calistoga. We found Tia and Claire through our coordinator, Amy Thumhart. Amy had recommended a number of photographers and based on their websites of previous work, I decided Tia and Claire were the best fit. We wanted professional looking photographs, but weren't interested in stylized, artistic photos. We simply wanted to document our wedding as it happened. When I interviewed Tia and Claire, I was confident they would be a great fit- they understood and responded well to what I wanted, and I did not feel like I would be crimping their style with my requests. Tia and Claire are wonderful, nice, patient women. We had concerns about taking too many photos when the sun was high in the sky. They heard our concerns and made sure we took photos in shady parts of the property, as well as additional couples photos when the sun was just right (later in the evening). They handled our large family photos very well (herding cats on a 100 degree day), and were easy to work with when we did photos of just the two of us (they were sufficiently flattering to loosen us up and have us be comfortable enough to take great photos). The photos they took were fantastic. I still haven't quite gotten my act together to make large prints or put together an album, but we've used many of the photos for our holiday cards. They also turned around our photos quickly- within 10 days of the wedding, which was great. We were all very anxious to see them! So why only 4 stars? Two things. For one, we had discussed that we did not want them up close to us during the ceremony. We understood that we wouldn't get close-up shots, but wanted them out of the aisles, away from the front area, etc. We had agreed they would stay along the perimeter of the ceremony space. For whatever reason, this didn't happen. They weren't in our faces, but at times they were close to our feet. For us, this detracted from the experience of the ceremony- both for us and for our families and friends. The other thing is that we had specifically requested a certain shot of the ceremony, and had sent a version of the photo to them ahead of time. We really wanted this shot- in fact, it was this specific photo that had contributed to us choosing Solage as our wedding venue. Again, for whatever reason, we did not get this shot. These two things certainly did not ruin our wedding day, but are still two pretty major hits. The ceremony was extremely important to us, and it was disappointing to feel like we had been on the same page during our planning meeting. And of course, we'll never get that ceremony photo that we wanted so badly. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend Tia and Claire. They were very nice, easy to work with, great with our families, and for the most part captured our day beautifully. I would simply recommend being extra crystal clear about any specific requests you have. read more

From the first meeting with Tia & Claire they understood the vision for my wedding pictures. I had a long list of photo shots that I wanted and they were able to get all of the special moments that I wanted. They were very easy to work with and very professional. I really enjoyed our meetings and the day of the wedding they were wonderful. Many of my guest said that they photographers were great because they didn't block special moments. Tia and Claire were able to get all of the these amazing shots but not be in the way of the guest at the wedding. We used Tia and Claire as our wedding photographers for our wedding in May at V.Sattui Winery. They were amazing with me and my bridal party. We got our photos online 4 days after returning from our honeymoon which was amazing! The pics came out really wonderful. So, why 4/5 stars? I wish there were more pics of my husband during the ceremony, and some different close ups of the first look. Also, they don't "pose" you too much, which is good for the feel of the day, but in retrospect, I feel we could have used it as i'm slouching in a few otherwise awesome shots. They're very friendly and excited though I know for them weddings are old hat. We managed to get first look, tons of family portraits and sunset shots without guests feeling abandoned. And the shots they caught of the dancing and cocktail hour really caught the feel of the night. The shots of the venue and the details (rings/table setting/etc) also came out looking amazing. Overall Tia and Claire are awesome, they take great shots, make you feel at ease and add a positive vibe to your wedding day. I would recommend them to any bride :) read more

Tia recently did the photography for our wedding at the coast, and we could not have been more pleased with both her and her work. She was so lovely to work with, and made things easy and unstressful. All of the staged photography that we did was done so quickly we barely missed any time with our guests, and the pictures came out so beautifully! Claire photographed our wedding in August in the Russian River and the photos turned out brilliantly. She captured everyone at their best, looking natural and joyous. Not only are the final photos stunning, but she's a real treat to work with. Tia is hands down the best photographer out there. I originally saw her pictures in a photobook at a winery when we were scouting locations for our wedding and loved the moments she captured on camera. Of course I didn't actually write down her name at the time so when I got home I proceeded to search blogs and winery websites for over a week in order to find her. I'm so glad I was so dedicated in my search because it was worth it! Tia did the most amazing job with our engagement and wedding pictures. Her assistant, Dominic, was also fabulous. They were a great team! We loved Tia so much that we recently had her take pictures of our family, now with a new addition!
