We had originally scheduled an engagement session; the contract was signed in Nov. come January we hadn't heard from her and time was running out. That said, I got caught up in the holidays and wasn't on top of her either. We scheduled a day and due to a death in the family she had to reschedule; only she never called us back for a new date. So as our wedding quickly approached I called and she informed me she had been back at work for 2 weeks. So why not call? anyway. . . she refunded us for the engagement session. On the day of the wedding she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was really attentive to us and took pictures of all that we asked her to. I can say that she worked her butt off that day. BUT. . . When we got our pictures back they were mediocre at best. I was really disappointed. they were sort of ok. I guess you get what you [pay for. We have enough to make a wedding album and we're not photogenic people, but it was day I felt pretty and my pictures of it weren't. I will also say that she was a week + late getting our pictures to us because of a family death. so either this was a really bad few months for her or. . . of the 600 or so pictures maybe 90 are useable.

For me, the challenge was finding a photographer to capture my personality and avoid an overly-formal, stiff-looking head shot. Working backwards from the best head shot I'd ever seen - my friend Donna's photo is natural, warm, engaging, and exactly HER - I asked Donna to give me the name of her photographer, and it happened to be Angela Banchi. Angela and her approach to photography was wonderful from start to finish. We exchanged several email volleys on the kind of shot I was looking for, the setting, the timing, and scheduling a makeup artist and hair stylist. We actually also did some posed studio portraits with another photographer, which were beautiful, but it was Heather who really captured my baby the way I think of him. Your kids grow and change so quickly, but Heather specializes in capturing those priceless, unexpected moments that come and go in the blink of an eye. We spent 12+ hours together over the course of pre-wedding couple portraits, rehearsal picnic, and the day-of. I didn't think ahead of time about how much time that is to spend with a stranger, but after a very short time she didn't feel like one. She's warm, cheerful and professional.
