A breakfast (not as many options as lunch ams not as many breakfast options (for a vegan, vegetarians had egg, yogurt, and cheese options)

As someone looking for vegan eats this place is amazing! The prices aren't bad too depending on your portion sizes (mine was 13 and my husbands was 17 although I am sure he could have eaten 20's worth). The food is delicious, fresh, varied, and wonderfully presented and from a variety of cultures. I did have a breakfast and lunch there, I thought lunch was better (explained why in 3rd pic). Get your taste buds ready!

Great buffet options consisting of mostly vegetarian and vegan. All items are labelled if you have food allergies or restrictions. Food was tasty! You walk in, grab a plate and self serve at the buffet. Then stand in line at the cafe to pay and order any drinks. They will give u a tray and weigh your food. There's also a water fountain to the left of the cafe area of where you pay for food.

Fabulous place to eat in Luzern, esp for vegetarians. As many have noted, it's not cheap, but I think it qualifies as relatively economical for Switzerland! My partner and I each got a full plate of food and paid 18chf each. Really easy to find, just on the top level of the Luzern train station. You can also get some premade items like sandwiches just for takeaway and the prices are a bit cheaper, though I think the takeaway for the buffet is the same price as eating in.

Yelp Review 2026 #64:…read more I'm not vegetarian and definitely not vegan. But I will dabble with the veg from time to time. Hiltl is popular for being the world's oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world. Here's information I will share that I wish was available before planning to come here. You must make a reservation for lunch/ dinner because that's when they're busy. Breakfast is for walk-ins and they don't do reservations. Hop on their website and be sure you're on the right location because they have several within a 2-mile radius...some on the same street. I went here to try their breakfast buffet. I wasn't sure how busy they got for breakfast so, I got here at 6:30am because I got the wrong information online! They open at 7am. Different locations have different hours. Check their website for actual hours and don't trust review site information because it's wrong! They're not busy for breakfast at all. There's 2 ways to do their buffet. You can pay a fixed price and fill your plate multiple times or go and fill your plate once and pay based on the weight of your food - you get free bread. I did the pay-by-weight option. I have a whole day of eating planned so, I wasn't about to fill up for breakfast. When they opened at 7am, they were still putting the food out one by one. By 7:20, all the food was out which was fine. I was in no rush. The spread includes fresh fruits, cheeses, butter, margarine, cheesecake, chocolate mousse, mango mousse, mango chia pudding, banana chocolate brownie crumble, a pear dessert (with cream, vanilla and orange), rosti, scrambled eggs, potato salad, tomato and mozzarella salad, beets, chickpeas, olives, couscous, corn salad, olives, asparagus, green peas, feta cheese, hardboiled eggs, curry salad, dolmades, broccoli and edamame, artichoke salad, bulgur salad, tabbouleh, orecchiette tofu salad, Thai salad, hummus, guacamole, muhammara, etc. They have 6 types of bread. Slice a piece and toast it yourself. Vegan and vegetarian food tend to taste strongly of coconut/ coconut milk and I don't like that. My favorites from the buffet include chocolate mousse, mango mousse, banana chocolate brownie crumble, dolmades, asparagus, orecchiette tofu salad, and Thai salad. I got a mango lassi to drink which I didn't like. It had curry powder. Service was pleasant. The restaurant was clean.

Located in an old farm house on top of a hill, the views - even on a rainy day - were fantastic. Old-school, rustic southern German food (think deer, wild boar, veal liver, mushroom soup with cream, etc.) can be found here. Large, hearty portions. Delicious. Service is fast and friendly, and our dinners - pork medallions in mushroom sauce, lamb chops with rosti, and salad with grilled deer and fried quail eggs were spot-on. Top that with an interesting bottle of an unfamiliar wine varietal (Regent) and ice cream sundaes, it was pretty perfect. And very reasonably priced - dinner for 4 with a bottle of wine = 120 Euros. After dinners in Switzerland, this is bargain basement prices. It's a bit of a trek - especially in the rain - but definitely worth a visit.

Tibits is a chain, better-for-you, buffet-style restaurant throughout Switzerland. After visiting…read moretheir location in Basel, we stopped by this location in Bern for lunch. It's one level where you wait in line to go around the buffet oval filled with salads and vegetarian food. The "Tatar Salad" is my favorite. Every plate comes with a roll and they have gluten-free options. Once done, they weigh your plate. It is pricey for a plate. There's plenty of seating and free WiFi.

The food is priced by weight, so you can choose exactly the quantity you think you will eat and only pay for that amount. No waste. I love that idea. I've seen it across Europe, but it's not something that you ever see in the UK. I was really pleased with the choice of vegetables and filled my place with a salad of sugar snap peas, soya beans, broccoli, then chose an escalope to go with it, along with some other delicious items. We were so delighted with our lunch that we went back for dinner. The dauphinoise potatoes (vegan of course!) were a real treat, and I loved them with lots of green beans with garlic, delicious mushrooms, some other veg, and a wee pie thing that turned out to be like a baked samosa. I finished off with a hot chocolate and a pastry/bun type thing - I'd clocked earlier that they always have vegan cakes. Hooray! They also have smoothies and juices too. Something for everyone.
