Skyview Hotel - King Suite Room with Hot Tub

Skyview Hotel

This property is on Hwy 24, with no other buildings or structures to shelter it from the noise,…read morehowever, with the setback and the construction of the lodging - I didn't hear any freeway noise at all. That was a very pleasant surprise. This place seems newly constructed and was very nicely designed to be spacious feeling in a very simple way. The main building was just a row of rooms, similar to a motel, but the artistry of the rope walls flowing like a canyon, really uplifted the whole feel. In the room the green plants, wall art and simplicity of a clean room, with the space to have comfy seating gave a feeling of ease. The open view to the cliff wall from the sliding door wall was about the prettiest scene you would want out of your bedroom. They offer rooms with and without a hot-tub on the back porch, as well as dome rooms, some with skylights for night time star viewing. However the domes don't open for reservations until sometime in April, the rooms with hot-tubs go very quickly!! I regret to say that we only stayed overnight. I now wish I had given us more time in this delightful hotel.

Our stay at Skyview was nothing short of amazing. When we checked in, the staff gave us a tour of…read morethe property and showed us to our room. Everything was pristine! Incredibly clean and huge thank you to the folks who refreshed our room!! We got the king suite with hot tub on the patio. As everyone mentioned, stunning views. The stargazing rooftop was a fun option! The customer service was outstanding. The owner Joshua helped make sure our stay was perfect! All of the other staff we interfaced with were wonderful too. I also love the reusable water bottles in the mini fridge. We used those throughout the stay and were perfect after hiking!! Love the Shooke Coffee in the rooms with the French press - the best way to have coffee in a hotel. Definitely checkout their storefront while you're in town! No complaints, no notes. Would recommend to everyone! Thank you, Skyview!

Boulder Mountain Lodge, along with onsite restaurant Hell's Backbone Grill, has been one of my…read morehappiest places for over two decades. And as of January 2025, the owners of the Grill have acquired the Lodge, so it's all one entity now. The Lodge has very comfortable rooms, a pond with an amazing variety of resident and migratory birds, a second-floor Great Room and balcony overlooking the pond, a hot tub, and ample grounds for children and pets to run. It's an easy drive up to Capitol Reef National Park for the day. Burr Trail Scenic Backway, starting right around the corner, is 67 miles of some of the most beautiful terrain you'll ever see. Don't miss the little slot canyon 11.5 miles down the trail! Last summer I took a pillow and some reading material and set up on two flat rocks near the back end of the slot canyon. It's nature's most gorgeous reading room ever! The Grill features vegetables and salads from their farm, local pastured beef and bison, and some of the best desserts ever. My two favorite orders are the Dinner Jenchilada with calabacitas (squash) and the Chocolate Chile Cream Pot. But they are both rich, so I have them on different days. Big secret -- it tends to be quieter in mid-summer! People think it's going to be hot in July, like other Utah areas like Zion, so they plan to come later. But the average July high is just 88, with an overnight low of 60, so the wonderful hiking trails nearby are pleasant for morning and evening hikes pretty much every day.

If you're looking for an affordable place to stay in the Monument Valley area, this is a very good…read moreoption! Ilene is a very nice, accommodating, hospitable woman who opens her home to guests from all over the world looking to explore and experience the "West." (She's well reviewed on Google!) Having said that, your experience here is more like a stay at your Auntie's house, not a 5 star hotel with a butler service! Here's what to expect: clean house with access to kitchen; mini-fridge to store your perishables; basic, comfortable rooms; clean bathroom with towel included; good WiFi (I didn't have phone service while I was there); soft, red sand to bury your tired toes in; lots of sitting areas in front of the house to watch a beautiful sunset against the iconic Monument Valley red rocks; 30min short hike out back to Tear Drop Arch; amazing night sky; friendly, curious cat named Kyle to pet at your pleasure; grill available for your use; Navajo fry bread breakfast can be arranged. Anything else you need, just ask! Ilene is a very nice, local, Native business owner. If you are looking for a room, call Ilene between 9am-6pm Mountain Standard Time (US) to book one of the comfortable, basic rooms in the main house or the cute little cabin next door with it's own AC unit (a popular option apparently). If you are budget conscious, you can pitch a tent or car-camp in her yard for cheap. Walk-ins are welcome, but call ahead of time just to make sure there is a room available or space for you in her yard AND she knows when to expect you. Once you book, consider these BEFORE heading there for a more pleasant arrival and stay! 1) FOLLOW THE RED LINE TO THE YELLOW X on the map (see picture)! Lots of people get lost using GPS to get there...me included! 2) The location is on soft, red sand so be careful not to get stuck on the way up. 4x4 recommended but not necessary. 3) There are a handful of dogs that run around the neighborhood freely. If you are allergic or afraid of dogs, watch out! Also, some like to bark at night...BRING EARPLUGS! 4) If you are planning on pitching a tent, make sure to bring some heavy duty stakes to stake your tent down. There were a few bursts of wind that rocked my car the night I stayed there (car-camping).

As others have said, this is a great inexpensive option for staying near Monument Valley. We stayed…read morehere on a VERY hot night. This was definitely staying in someone's home and not any kind of luxury B&B. The house was air conditioned but not our room, so we slept with the door open. That said, everyone was welcoming and friendly. The shower and bathroom (shared with other guests, including those in the adjacent cabin, was new and spick-and-span, with plenty of supplies. Breakfast was lovely: we could help ourselves to cereal, juice, coffee, and fix our own eggs. There's a very friendly black cat, and a cute dog. We arrived after sunset, and left after breakfast to tour Monument Valley, so weren't able to enjoy time relaxing outside.
