I had the best stay here. Beautiful hotel! Clean, comfortable, quiet and is a great location. Inside pool and hot tub, good variety breakfast, quick hot water with good water pressure, very reasonably priced. Staff is professional and very friendly. This is a family owned and run hotel. They all work hard and love their hotel. It shows. Easy to get to attractions and go on guided tours. Beautiful views from hotel of mountain ranges in this quaint, quiet little town. I want to start by saying the rooms were spacious and had what we needed. What this place lacks is service. The guy at the front desk was so busy with his head in his phone that I don't know if he really knew what was happening around him. In addition, I would skip the breakfast and find something else. just not great. I would spend my money elsewhere because this place is not a good value. read more

We came for Mother's Day to hike Coyote Gulch and we loved staying at Canyon Country Lodge. It is beautiful inside, clean, quiet and the staff was professional and kind. The pool is a nice size and not too cold and the hot tub has great jets! The breakfast was delicious! My husband commented that every woman in the room was smiling because the breakfast on Mother's Day was so good! We highly recommend and we hope to come back! read more

Canyon Country Lodge was our home for 2 nights while we were visiting Escalante again, this time with friends.  A two-story hotel, this place is quite homey.  The staff was always pleasant from check-in to check-out.  There is breakfast every morning starting at 7am with your sundry coffees, teas, juices, DIY waffles, cereals, toast, fruit, yogurt, bacon, and eggs.  There is quite a large indoor pool as well as an exercise room.  There is also a restaurant that serves dinner, but we didn't dine there so I cannot speak to that.  As Escalante is not a very big town, I guess you could consider this the big hotel there.  Our room was nice and clean with a fridge and flat screen TV.  If you're ever in town to take advantage of all the outdoor activities that are in the area, I would highly recommend this place to stay. read more

Canyon Country Lodge is in the middle of nowhere, in Escalante, UT but sure is a nice hotel. My husband and I decided to stay here a few Sundays ago while we visited some of the national parks (Escalante Grand Staircase, which is currently closed due to covid- 19, is w/in ~ 23 miles from here). We were checked in by a woman behind the counter, whom we suspect is the owner of this place. She seemed nice and quirky. Then we unloaded our car and brought them into our room. Please note that this hotel has 2 very small dollies to use to help unload and load your luggage. I liked the beds we had, as they were comfortable and I liked the nice clean decor the room had, including the bathroom. This hotel does come with breakfast. However because of the coronavirus, breakfast at hotels these days are grab and go. So in the morning, we were given a breakfast burrito (it was cold but you are able to heat it up in the microwave in your room. Please note that there is also a mini fridge in the room too), cold hard boiled egg, a few Quaker chewy bars, individual packaged muffins and coffee and tea that you are able to get yourself in the dining area (available 24 hours. When we came to get some tea the evening before, another employee, again I suspect one of the owners, he turned on the light for us while we were there). While we stayed here, we did use the washer and dryer, which cost $2 each to use (there are 2 washers and 2 dryer machines, coin operated). It really is nice to have clean laundry and always appreciate when hotels provide these machines for hotel patrons to use (especially if you are visiting this part of Utah to go hiking, you should just have a clean pair of clothes). The WiFi was easy to get onto and was fairly fast (please note that there was only one other couple staying here besides us so I don't know if that also contributed to the fast WiFi). Overall, we had a nice stay here and think it is a nice place to rest in between your hiking adventures while you visit the national parks in the area. read more

From the moment you pull up you are welcomed with warm and inviting colors, beautiful rock and rich wood accents throughout the entire hotel both inside and out. The front desk staff was friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. They have a wonderful pool and hot tub area that has a view of the surrounding area that cannot be missed. They even have an outdoor patio area for the nicer days. I also spotted a gym area, however I did not use it. They have a lovely large gathering area both for seating and hanging out by a fire and on the opposite side tables for breakfast or general seating. They do have most nights a dining area that served nice down home cooking and all of which was very nice and enjoyable. The waitress was hopping and they really could use a second server. But other than that it was absolutely enjoyable. The room itself was roomy, comfortable and spacious. With a large TV and a loveseat that you could sit on curl up and hang out. a Keurig coffee maker, which we didn't use, open style area to set your clothing for the night and a walk in large shower that was nice and piping hot. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay if we're in the area again. read more

This is a great place to stay in Escalante. Canyon country Lodge is definitely the best place to stay in the area. Rooms are immaculate, and extremely comfortable. Everything seems new and fresh. The bed was fantastic. The bathroom is basic but very well appointed. Great cable TV, but the Internet only worked one out of two days. I did not report the problem because I had ultrafast Wi-Fi on my phone. Swimming pool and hot tub are fantastic. Large heated swimming pool. I didn't try out the workout room, but it too looked nice. Very nice laundry room on the first floor with brand new machines that wash and dry on the first cycle. Location is perfect for hiking in the Grand staircase-escalante National monument. I visited in February 2021. Apparently it was an unseasonable a warm February, because every day was beautiful and sunny. But, apparently, this is off-season for Escalante. Absolutely nothing in this city is open in February. I ate two dinners at the Canyon country Lodge restaurant. The food was pretty good, but it's more of a snack bar than a restaurant. I had a hamburger one night, and chicken strips the next. Both tasted very good, but I suspect everything is Frozen / Costco like food. But I'm not complaining. This hotel stay would have been a five plus star experience if the staff had been a little more covid-19 safety conscious. Mask-wearing was inconsistent. When masks were worn, they were often pull down off of the nose. As a first responder who is traveling with multiple stops, mask-wearing by hotel staff is the most important customer service during this global pandemic. All of the hotel staff were extremely kind and friendly. I definitely recommend Canyon country Lodge. read more

It's a nice little gem in an unexpected place. We really had a great stay. The place was roomy, it was very clean and I loved the rustic decor. The king-sized bed was very comfy. We had a microwave, refrigerator and a Keurig in the room. The bathroom was also big. Hot breakfast was also provided. The staff were very friendly. We got two chocolate muffins to go for our hike. And then in the evening, there were delicious cookies in the lobby for the guests. They were so good. I love that they have an indoor pool and spa. Definitely, a plus to help your relax and recharge after a day of hiking. read more

This is a new hotel and our stay was comfortable but unfortunately not safe! The Utah state Covid website says "Masks protect you and others from COVID-19. The science is clear, wearing face masks helps prevent the spread of COVID-19. Masks also protect and help strengthen our economy." Yet this lodge prefers to pretend that this area is Covid free (it's not.). I believe in consideration towards others, and can't understand how the friendly people who manage and work there can be so thoughtless as to be unconcerned about spreading a potentially deadly disease to others, apparently without giving it any thought. I won't return to a business that shows such little respect for others. read more

We decided to stay here while in town checking out the grand staircase area and also running the marathon. We looked around and decided to give this place a shot. Really have no complaints. The service was good and super friendly. The place is newer and the rooms were spacious. The breakfast in the morning was as expected and hit the spot. There is a restaurant on site that did the job (it was decent enough). The workers here were helpful as well in picking out a good dish to eat. I would stay here anytime. read more

Just stayed 4 nights here! What a great find...grounds huge and beautiful, alpaca farm out our window along w beautiful view. The suite was one of the best rooms we've stayed in, super clean, nice decor and VERY spacious for 3 adults. Got warm enough to enjoy pool after hiking and was very new feeling! The hot breakfast was so good before hitting the trails each day... and the staff was great too. Thank you Nathan for trail advice and kindness! Would be a great place for a family reunion because all rooms face a center grass area with tables and pool etc and they have bbqs. It was a little more than I like to spend when we are gone most of the day hiking but I would DEFINITELY stay here again. LOVED IT! read more

Lovely place to stay. Beds are super comfy, and I loved the thick comforters. Good customer service. Very pricey, even with the "discount." ($185-ish) It was nice to have a fridge in the room. Breakfast is your standard upscale hotel offering...sugary cereals, refined packaged pastries, white bread for toast, some sort of hot egg dish daily, waffle irons with batter, hard boiled eggs, sugary yogurt (bulk style, not cups, so you can't read ingredients). There was cut melon both days I was there, as well as apples, bananas, and oranges. I just don't eat processed food, so I bring my own. But if you dig hotel breakfasts, you'll probably love this one. They have a pool, a gym (why, though?! Does anyone use that?! Hello, trails!!), and guest laundry. Also Tesla chargers outside. The rooms do have semi thin walls; I could hear our neighbors both evenings, which was annoying, but they did quiet down and I slept well. read more

What a great gem of a hotel located in a small town. Everything from check in to the room was amazing. Beds were super comfy, rooms were spacious, views were great, and breakfast was pretty good too. The staff was very friendly and even called to make sure the slot canyons were good to go for us to hike the next day. They went above and beyond making sure we were happy and knew where all of the hiking trails were located. The Mexican restaurant located inside was pretty good too. Suggest the steak over the chicken. Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a great hotel near Escalante and the grand staircase. read more

This is an amazing Lodge to stay at. The pool has a basketball hoop to keep the teenagers entertained, a small restaurant to grab a quick dinner and a laundromat to do a wash of our hiking wear. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We will be coming back to stay. read more

I picked this place because it was the only lodging in the area with a swimming pool. In general it was pretty nice, but with some disappointments. It's fairly new, and all the appointments are generally high quality. My room was nicely furnished with a good mattress and DirecTV on a large screen. But overall, the reality never quite lives up to the upscale vibe conveyed by the website. The decor overall suggests a nice motel, pleasant but sterile. One day, housekeeping forgot my room entirely. Breakfast is included, with a wide variety of options. There's usually an egg dish of some sort, and do-it-yourself waffles, plus toast, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt and fruit. Overall, it was just okay -- kinda like my college dorm dining hall. One day the potatoes accompanying the eggs were stone cold -- not cooling off due to insufficient warming, but more like defrosted but never actually warmed up. Ugh. The pool is pretty nice, and if that's essential for you, stay here. If you can do without it, there are surely better deals elsewhere. read more

We camped at the Mackinaw Campground for 5 nights to explore Utah. Drove to Escalante- Stair Case National Park and ended up in the area at 11PM. We decided to stay for a night. Luckily, they have one room left and are able to accommodate my family! They have free breakfast, coffee is 24 hours available! Room's clean, bathrooms clean! Very cozy place in the middle of the park- an hour away from Bryce National Park! We drove off the next day to Bryce, saved ourselves 6 hours of driving, we slept well and ate energized for another park day! Would come back to this place for sure! read more

New 3year old property. Upscale, but that's an easy bar to clear when the competition consists of 40+ year-old motels. Largest indoor pool I've seen in a hotel in ages. And relaxing hot tub. Restaurant is struggling during the pandemic, but will put your choice of vittles in a take out bag for you. Evening staff Dee at the desk and Angelique in the restaurant should be cloned and staff every lodging establishment in the country. Made us feel like old friends immediately. I suggested that they set up a patio on the other side of the parking from reception. Free breakfast was so-so. Very close to everything. We LOVED this lodge! The people that own it are so amazing! I honestly felt like I was coming to stay with my aunt and uncle for the weekend. They literally treat you like family. It was more like a home than a hotel. They were helpful, willing to open up the hot tub, they had laundry facilities, fun size candy in a bowl, a yummy complimentary continental breakfast, clean new rooms. This is a brand new property in Escalante. We stayed for 3 days and it was great. The room was large. And, unlike a lot of the hotel chains, you could actually open up a window to get some fresh air into the room. The only complaint that we had was with the restaurant. Due to the convenience of it being in the hotel, we probably would have ate there every night. We didn't because of the awful music that was blaring during our meal. Since we've had this problem in other restaurants, I always carry a pair of earplugs. With those in place, the sound level was bearable. One other couple sat down just before the music started and got up and left because of the noise. I heard the husband say, "I can't eat and listen to that 'expletive deleted'." read more

After roughing it for a few days in other hotels on our travels this place felt like stopping at the ritz Carlton. Everyone was super nice and loved the complimentary breakfast. I'm not normally one to like the comp breakfasts. I can be pretty picky. Beds were super comfy and nice views. I will say we agree with the person that commented about the lighting. Booked this hotel as we were on our way to Moab from Zion. Exceeded our expectations. Extremely clean, larger room and bathroom, very spacious. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept on in long time. This is up there with the Westin brand Heavenly bed. Microwave, small fridge, coffee machine etc in room. Great smelling bath essentials. Did not use the restaurant so cannot comment on that. Pool and hot tub were great. Pool was larger than normal for hotel. Very nice, clean, new hotel with attached Mexican restaurant. The thing that most stood out to me upon arrival was the hospitality of the staff. The Mexican restaurant had just closed and they informed me that so had everything else in town (9pm) but that they would go ask if they can make something and sure enough we ordered two entrees which were very very good. Very fresh ingredients, authentic flavor and an extremely friendly and attentive staff. As far as the rooms, very tastefully furnished and the beds are amazing! read more

Our short stay at Canyon Country Lodge was amazing. We checked in after 10:30 and the staff could not have been more helpful! With an early morning check out to see sunrise we didn't plan on breakfast at the hotel since it was served at 7. The gentleman working brought out fruit and danish for us to take on the road with our hot coffee from the coffee bar that is open 24/7. The room were fabulous so cutely decorated and the beds were heavenly after a day of hiking. We will be back if we make it back out to the area! read more

I did not feel safe staying here. I only witnessed one staff member wearing a mask effectively. Most had no masks or wore them over the chin, exposing the mouth and nose. Social distancing did not seem to be a concern to staff. Other guests were just as bad. Staff were very kind but didn't seem to care about guest safety. Otherwise it seemed pretty clean but there was hair from the previous guest left in the shower. Would not recommend until Covid is over. read more
