I paid $974.99 to become a member, in September of 2022. This provided a year's worth of monthly…read moremembership, with a $30.92 monthly rate thereafter. At the end of May 2023, the Sewell location (where I signed up) closed. When inquiring about a pro-rata refund multiple times, I was not able to get management to respond until I filed a complaint with the BBB and a credit card dispute. Their only offer was a membership transfer (to the Mullica Hill location, 25 minutes from my home). Beware of this establishment. Management does not do right by its members. EDIT: 11/28/2023 RESPONSE For the record, when I called today, it was a general number and I was told that someone would reach back out to me and that did not happen. I did not chargeback in error. I later cancelled the chargeback because KF said it would be contested since I was deemed not eligible for a refund by KF management. My only remedy at that point, then, was to cancel the chargeback and continue to use the Mullica Hill facility until the end of my prepaid membership. Also, the BBB remedy was rejected by me (and, to my knowledge, remains that way), which is why KF Mullica Hill was downgraded to an A- rating. My initial refund request should have been honored. The bottom line is: KF could not honor its obligation to me and the only remedy offered was to accept an unreasonable transfer. Imagine paying essentially $603.95 (deducting the $30.92/monthly fees from the equation) for a membership, only to be told a few months later that the location is closing, your membership will be cancelled, and your only option is to transfer to a location nearly a half hour away. Potential customers ought to know that this is how they can expect to be treated. Their money will gladly be taken, but they can expect inaction and unscrupulous business practices if a problem arises. This has been a nightmare of an experience and I truly wish your offer to address my concerns was in good faith. 11/30/2023 UPDATE The representative that I spoke to told me that disputing (having the credit card company review) any amount paid to the company would be immoral, and that saying I didn't receive services, as originally expected, makes me a liar. Apparently, I should have been content with losing all of my money or taking an unconscionable relocation as a courtesy. No addressing of concerns, just verbal abuse. This is the service you can expect.

They were denied snack time and had their slime that they made taken away and given to other kids. The reason for this was a pocket-sized light was found in the pool after their group got out. The camp instructor tried to get the kids to "confess" as to who took the thing and basically punished them when no one spoke up. As if the kids would know who did it. When the camp director finally got back to me when I emailed her, she admitted that one of the kids could have accidentally put in their pocket and that the "punishment" wasn't appropriate. I wouldn't send my child to this camp again.

My last day at the YMCA!…read more The YMCA Director Ronna Kassel decided months ago to lock access to 2 of their bathrooms on the gym floor, forcing all class participants and gym users to walk to the other side of the gym to the two dirty bathrooms there or go downstairs stairs to the locker room. Unfortunately, on busy days there is a wait to use the bathroom on the gym floor or you have to find a staff member to unlock the bathroom, If someone is actually available. There is NO gym supervisor on the gym floor. If no one is available, then you just have to wait or go to another floor. I emailed the Ms. Kessel over the weekend and no response.When I went to the gym this afternoon, there were senior citizens coming out one of the classes trying to open the locked bathroom doors. They were frustrated too. When I went to the front desk to complain last Friday, the receptionist " Katherine" started to argue in front of staff that the doors were not locked, although she works part time on another floor and rarely comes to the gym. The YMCA needs to do better! Smh

I've attended a few group classes and have really enjoyed feeling like part of the community. Classes are tough, full of great accepting people, and I've never felt shamed, even when I'm panting in the corner after the warm up. Staff is so helpful and super friendly, even the cleaning staff, who have helped me find where I need to go after circling the pool 3 times. Come to the Y and support an amazing business!

My poor 3 year old is traumatized of water now. Just overall not a great place. And really terrible customer service. Take your $$ elsewhere.

Some swim instructors are OK and some aren't. The biggest pet peeve I have with this place is they never return your phone call and never answer the phone. They usually have two secretaries working at the front desk, so why is there two telephones but nobody will answer.!?? Second pet peeve is they unexpectedly cancel your scheduled class time and they won't notify you. For example: Last week there was a problem with the pool chemicals and they needed to dump in a bunch of soda ash to bring up the pH levels or something they said like that. The next day it was still super cloudy, and my child had to swim in it. After words, my child could not stop coughing because of accidentally drinking some of the water. The day before that, all classes were canceled because there was a serious problem with the pool chemicals. I wound up, traveling all the way down there because they didn't notify me in enough time to say the class was canceled. So when I went to the front desk, they told me on the following week on Monday, they were gonna give me an extra half hour for that canceled lesson. So here it is.. I go to the place on Monday and the place is all closed up! I never got a phone call, a text message or an email stating why the school was closed. I left a voicemail message explaining my concerns about what happened and why they were closed. I'm more than likely certain 100% guarantee that they won't call me back because they never call you back! Also, when my husband was setting up the swim lessons, they told him that if there was any problem with them canceling appointments, they would refund money. I feel like this won't even honor that especially with the way they're acting here. This location in Turnersville is acting like a fraudulent place. This place just loves taking your money, but they don't care if they cancel your classes and you wind up pay for a cancel class. And to add- Today 7/22/2925.. I went down there to figure out why this week my child's classes are all canceled. They changed their store hours without notifying me that some problem or issue has happened. On here it states that the store hours close at 12 PM, but I physically went down to the place so I can talk with the front desk to get everything resolved, but the building was already closed at 11:20 AM and the store hours written for this week on the store window shows for Tuesday that it closes at 11:30 AM. My child's scheduled swim class time is 12:45 PM. So why can't this place notify me that the class has been canceled and/or moved to another time? So my child has missed a swim class today and yesterday because of them messing up and canceling our time scheduled that was planned from the beginning. **FYI: the picture below is the schedule for 7-20-25 through 7-26-25
