We went through the whole online quiz to find out core attachment patterns and though the information and initial consultation was oddly insightful, it didn't fully address the elephant in the room; the affair. We went straight through to addressing our past traumas, and it sincerely didn't help that I apply in almost all types of trauma listed. In the few sessions we had, it helped us understand a few things about ourselves, but with work and priorities, it became hard to practice outside of the appts and unfortunately we never discussed a chance for each of us to talk to her separately. And this was the one thing I really wished was required. Would marriage counseling be able to detect abuse? I really wished they did every time, cause then we can talk about my suicide attempt and being on suicide watch on two separate occasions, we could've talked about how my boss mentioned signs of domestic abuse and I scoffed it off but it planted a horrible revelation. We could've talked about how I'm feeling so afraid and so controlled, I was convinced I shouldn't have even felt this way, that immediately after stating my suspicions of being an abusive relationship I was told to be very careful what I'm accusing, and the one person who can see all that with me can't. My trauma now becomes the final blow in every argument, I'm emotionally muted, and I'm trying so hard to feed the fire of my will enough to stay alive. Even my prior therapist said she isn't a good therapist. I wish I spoke up more about it with her, I suppose I have no excuse. Anyways, if you're going through a domestic or emotional abuse, don't go here.

I've been sitting on this review and trying to figure out how to describe my experience with Austin. In a nutshell, indescribable would be easy to say, but also the immediate feeling right after the session. I can breathe a bit better if not easier, weight on my shoulders feels lighter. And overall feels like I am freed by the 'mental shackles' that has had its hold on me for a long time. Like a veil has been lifted and I am now more at peace with myself, zen like state which is something I thought I had but this is completely different. I was battling with a 'sense of failure' as a father/husband/person due to what I thought was from financial pressures and a lack of empathy, accountability with my was breaking down my relationship with my wife. His counseling experience and deep knowledge of behavioral therapy identified a possible 'Complex Relational trauma response' disorder that my wife showed signs of displaying. Justin helped me understand her trauma response and how I was reacting to her issues with my own issues which triggered her fear, abandonment, frustration, mistrust, and gravitation to conflict which induced my own defensiveness reactions and anger. He provided me with my own personal tools to deploy on a regular basis. These helped me be nice to myself and appreciate my purpose and that I was actually doing my best to improve myself and provide love most importantly. Its his ability to land these strategies/tools on point and get you to understand how to employ them to get better/improve/develop yourself With this guidance I've noticed I've become more empathetic, less reactive and more self caring so my family can continue to heal, and our relationship and welfare of ourselves benefits our family.
