We had the best experience with Tiffanie! We felt totally safe and cared for. Tiffanie delivered our first baby at home, after my wife had a frightening experience at the hospital during her first trimester. We definitely feel that we made the right choice and learned a ton from Tiffanie.

I heard of Tiffanie after mentioning I would like to learn about home births during my second pregnancy. Interviewing her brought so much warmth inside me that I knew this is who I wanted. Always sure of herself and welcoming to all questions. I had a hospital birth before and was seeing my previous OB but as soon as a l switched my care over to her as a midwife for my prenatal visits I knew I had met someone I trusted. Tiffanie gave me so much knowledge and guidance during my pregnancy even though I decided to have a hospital birth for my second that when I went into labor water therapy helped me achieve my non medicated birth I so longed for and didn't get with my first. My second came unexpected on his own with me surprising the hospital staff at how far along I was when I came in and was born as soon as I got to the hospital it was perfect and reassuring that I could do it all along. As soon as we wanted to try again for a third baby I reached out to her and she reminded me that it would happen when I was ready and to not overthink it. When I got my positive test months later she was the first person I told I knew I would hire her again this time having a home birth. We went over my plans and after my second birth being so quick she reminded I had to tell her right away when I felt I was in labor. Unfortunately fate would have it that I would be alone once that time happened thanks to weeks of false labor I just didn't know when to tell her to come over but it didn't matter because I was guided by her that I just let my body do what she always assured me it would do and birthed my baby in my tub at home like I had dreamt about and Tiffanie would tell me to manifest. I will never forget the look in her face when she came in to see I felt the excitement and the "I told you to call me right away" look as she also shared the importance of what just transpired. If your looking for a midwife I highly suggest interviewing with her. I can't imagine not having her as my birth supporter so happy I get to have her services her in the valley She is always just a text or call away even supporting me as I went through postpartum or baby questions.

Tiffanie made our baby experience magic from the very moment we found out. We were so excited (and nervous, as she was our first baby) to have a home birth, especially with such an amazing midwife! The close, personal, and intimate experience to have with a midwife is something my husband and I would recommended to all birthing moms out there! I have the privilege of calling Tiffanie Gonzales my very own momma, and if we weren't already close before, to go through my home birth experience with her, not only brought us closer, but showed me that she is exactly who you want by your side when bring your little one into this world. She has had effortless maternal instincts from a very young age, on top of here 10+ years of experience, her skills as a midwife surpass any expectations. Not only in my own experience, but to witness her in action, in 5 other births which isn't even the tip of the iceberg for her, she was incredible!

All 3 of my home birth babies with Miss Tiff! We love that the WHOLE family is welcome during office visits!

My husband is the smart fellow who had researched the history of birthing and knew a home birth would be right for us. But the first midwife we interviewed took a while to answer basic questions such as, "What complications would necessitate us leaving the house for the hospital?" When asked the same question above, Allyson immediately listed several instances. She even brought out a doll and a 3D model of the pelvic bones to demonstrate. That's my kind of professional! Direct, organized, and eager to share her knowledge. I knew Allyson would be the perfect midwife for me. Like most women, I did not experience any complications during the natural birth process. Allyson and her apprentice, Romina, expertly and lovingly guided us through 18 hours of labor in the peace and quiet of my downtown apartment. I was 36 at the time of delivery, which is considered high risk, but everything went as smooth as it could. Post birth experiences with Allyson were also invaluable. She is as concerned for the mother as much as the baby, which is a level of service unique to midwives. Allyson's post birth home visits are a luxury I wish every family could experience. My experience with Allyson has changed my perspective on medical care, in general. I feel much more empowered as a patient, and know what good care looks like. Allyson spent one hour, I repeat, one hour with me during every visit. This provides ample time for me to digest information and to ask questions. Unlike the OB I had visited previously, Allyson proactively provides the information you don't know you need. Through Allyson I have also learned about home remedies, herbs and more.

She involved my significant other in the entire pregnancy, made sure that my labs were normal, that my baby's labs were normal, that I had whatever kind of birth I wanted and even if on that day it had changed, it didn't matter. She had a ton of reading, audio and video materials to loan to mothers-to-be from her library. She also recommended classes that we could take to learn more about Lamaze, breathing technique, or breastfeeding. She had tips for how to cut baby's nails, how to get started on cloth diapers, and how to care for myself after the birth. I told her I didn't want an epidural and that I at first wanted a water birth. I ended up doing my prelabor in the bathtub then laboring on the bathroom floor in my own house. She was supportive of all the animal grunting sounds I was making and cheered me on. She gave me olive oil to rub on the baby's head, gave me fresh coconut juice when I needed rejuvenation, took some memorable pictures for me and my new family, counted his fingers, toes, took his measurements, had my significant other weigh the baby, and she even did the footprints. She was great with prenatal and postpartum care. She told me what diet I should be on, but also that I should just eat whatever I felt was right. She encouraged me to be me as much as I could be me during the pregnancy with respect to having a healthy pregnancy. She gave me suggestions during my seventh month as to what exercises I could do in the pool since the treadmill was starting to become too hard on my knees. Whenever she wanted to incorporate a teaching moment for other doulas or learning midwives, she would always ask for permission first. She respected me, my son, my significant other and our beliefs. She gave me lactation consultation and helped my son to latch on. She was great about scheduling if anything ever came up and fit me in even when she seemed like she couldn't. She was always reachable and was never more than a few hours away by phone or email. I am glad that I went with her versus going to a doctor or a hospital. Even when I had thought about having the birth in the hospital, she was still supportive of my decision and was ready to do the patient-transfer paperwork and then was supportive again when I decided that the hospital thing was not my cup of tea. For my hundredth review on Yelp, she's whom I'm writing about and Great Expectations Midwifery Care is what I care about. She did an awesome job and if I were to have other children in the future, I would definitely go back to her. I would recommend her to any of my friends and family.

Jillian was the best resource I could have asked for during my pregnancy, labor and postpartum period as a doula. Her calming personality is professional yet so personable. Their website is helpful and informative, and we were able to submit a form to be contacted - we met Jasmine on site to hear more about their doula services and other offerings. If you know early on that you're interested in using a doula, contact them sooner rather than later, as they have Open House events where you can meet their various providers to see who might be a good fit for you. I ended up getting induced a week later and did not end up using a doula - while my delivery went just fine without, it's worth looking into if you can afford it, and there is evidence that their involvement can shorten labor and improve outcomes. As first-time (and probably only-time parents), we were more concerned about having someone able to fully explain options to us and advocate for what we wanted in the hospital environment. That being said, WRM has more than just doula services - they also have midwives and a lactation consultant, as well as several classes offered onsite that you can take before, during and after your pregnancy. My husband and I took their 2-hour Newborn Care Class and it was helpful to hear the most important info and ask questions right before we had our baby. The class included a helpful book with free access to an app, and was led by their lactation consultant, Rory. It also served as a good way to get to know her in case we ended up needing LC services.

I, however, did not, and I'd like to share my personal experience. I really appreciated the weighted feed. It was about the only real valuable portion of the consultation. But for $200, I probably could have asked my baby's pediatrician for a weighted feed for free. Autumn was very nice during the consultation, but I felt like all of her advice and direction was very generic. Nothing she recommended was specifically tailored to me and my particular situation. The whole appointment consisted of the weighted feed and showing me two nursing positions (side lying and laid back) that are easily found online. That's it. She kept repeating phrases like, "Nose to nipple, tummy to mummy," and "Turn baby like a rotisserie chicken." Phrases she reiterated anytime I had a question after the appointment. Nothing about the appointment felt personalized or curated to me and my baby's specific needs. I wanted some pumping advice, so I brought my pump and parts, but she didn't seem at all interested in helping me navigate my questions. Included in the fee was two weeks of unlimited communication. I started messaging her with questions the very next day because I wanted to make sure I got the most out of the two weeks. Every response felt like I was bothering Autumn. She'd repeat the same phrases she said at the appointment. When I asked for a more personal approach, she accused me of being a stressed mother. That was the final straw for me. I realized I wasn't going to get the help I so desperately needed. Needless to say, I've had to end my breastfeeding journey at this time and have gone back to exclusively pumping. I was grateful for my home births and I cared so much about Sherry and did my best to support her out of love, when her family faced a huge tragedy. We became friends, or so I thought. In Dec. 2023, she told me she received texts from a number that she didn't recognize, from someone who would not identify themselves. She asked me if I was sending the messages. I told her that I was definitely not the one sending them. In Jan. 2024, she told me she'd received an anonymous letter. I again told her that I had nothing to do with it. She clearly didn't believe me and blocked me on social media. She then started texting my husband. She sent him screenshots of her text conversations with unknown numbers. She told my husband that her daughter and students were receiving messages too. In one screenshot, the person texting identified themselves as "Chelsea". She saw this as evidence that the messages were from me. The messages in the screenshots were horrific, and full of obscenities. They were full of spelling and grammatical errors and said things that have never come out of my mouth, yet she was convinced they were from me. What came next presents a character issue that you may want to consider prior to hiring her. She told my husband I have postpartum depression and need therapy. She expressed sudden faux concern as my "care provider". This was an entire year after her role as my care provider concluded. With no evidence of any of the messages she received being from the actual me, she told my husband that she was going to get her attorney involved, as well as the police and CPS. She said that's because she's a mandated reporter. My husband told her to call the police and figure out who was sending the messages, as it was not me. She repeated her plan after I again explained that I had nothing to do with the messages she was receiving and I asked her to stop contacting us. I then called the police and filed a report to explain what I was being accused of and shared the messages she had been sending to my husband. The following day she called CPS, who had the police reach out to my husband and I, to ask if I wanted to harm myself or my children. I referred to my earlier report and they asked if I knew anything about her mental health status. Imagine for a moment that the care provider whom you trusted with your life and your children's lives at the time of their births, decides to report you to CPS with false accusations while using their professional role to try to bolster their baseless claim. Unprofessional is one word for it, gross is another. She then asked if we were at home as she wanted to bring us a "gift." She followed that with a screenshot of texts that included a selfie of herself, giving the middle finger, and a paragraph of words unbecoming of a care provider who cares primarily for women. Finally, she called my husband twice. He didn't answer and she left a voicemail. In her voicemail she identified herself, my husband and me by name and threatened to come over to our house and make me stop sending the messages she was accusing me of sending. Her final words to him were to "get control of your f-ing wife." I had blocked her and just recently realized that she had left me two voicemails a few hours prior to the one she left for my husband. In them, she was mockingly sweet and one said "Hey Chelsea, it's Sherry, your bestie. Why don't you give me a call when you can, I would love to hear from you, just wanna hear your sweet, sweet voice..." I'm glad she didn't show up to my house after threatening to, because my oldest kid loved her and wants to be a midwife someday. I didn't want my child's view of Sherry to be marred. Alas, one of the greatest benefits of hiring a midwife can be one of its greatest drawbacks as well. Your midwife gets to know your whole family. Consider this carefully, before you introduce your family to Sherry. I've never had someone call me a four-letter word that starts with c, ends with t, and is a vulgar way of referring to a woman. I guess she thinks she called me that. She sent a screenshot of the conversation she thought she was having with me. I don't know who she actually called that, but my guess is that he lives with her. This isn't about his choices. This is about her words and actions, which she is fully responsible for. I have reclaimed my birth stories in my memories, I was the powerful woman who birthed my babies, and my family was at the center of my births. I am grateful for what I learned from her, about humans like her. I do wish that I'd learned in a less painful way. She told me that everyone abandons her when she doesn't meet their expectations. I realize now what a convenient excuse this is. I hope she seeks healing for herself, so she stops hurting those she uses and controls.
