This review is actually for the Danville location next to the Taco Bell cantina in downtown Danville. My daughter was in classes at Tiffany's for 6 months and performed one recital where she performed with her class and she performed a daddy daughter as well. Pros: -Free trial class -Teddy bear, dance bag, dance journal are free when signing up and I'd you sign up early you can get even more free items like the leotard and tights -classes after work for working mamas -45 min classes teaching ballet and tap Cons: -Poor communication -seems challenging to get details about things from them -Curriculum/teacher seems to make it soo difficult for kids (age 3-4) to be engaged. There's always melt downs, potty breaks, kids sleeping on the floor, ponding on walls etc -teacher doesn't seem to have control of the class -recital super disorganized, costumes came last minute, daddy daughter in person practice was over Memorial Day weekend which lots of folks can't make due to being out of town. Biggest gripe is that it was an outdoor recital in June in Livermore. It was over 90 degrees. -no ventilation in waiting room (so hot in June) Overall I think my daughter did improve her dance skills but I'm rooting for them to really improve their admin issues before re-enrolling. read more

We've been attending the 3-4 yo classes at the Danville location for 3 months. The experience has been appallingly bad. After 3 months of weekly attendance, where my daughter was the first to join the course in July, the teacher STILL pronounces my daughter's name wrong and doesn't recognize her. That's because there are new students every week, and way too many students in one class (10-12 kids for one teacher). It takes 10 minutes to finish roll call and measure new students for outfits out of a 30 minute class. The class itself is chaotic with so many students, some crying and screaming, pounding on the walls, bored and doing their own dance moves... The waiting room is baking hot, which is pretty dangerous if you have a baby waiting for their older sibling to finish class. The whole place centers around getting your money for outfits, performances, etc. The only thing do well is making it easy to sign up for a free trial online. They sent an email bragging their founder got into the Wharton School of Business which tells you all you need to know. Please don't waste your time. read more

This review for the San Ramon location is way overdue. My daughters have been taking ballet and jazz dance classes with Ms. Atalya for a few years now, and I must say that Ms. Atalya is one of the BEST teachers that has taught at Tiffany's. Under her tutelage, my daughters have grown so much as dancers. She pushes her students to learn new skills yet maintains a very professional, positive, fun class environment. She is honest with her opinions. If your dancer is not ready for the next level, she will be honest with you and kindly explain what areas need improvement. ... Sure, the studio's waiting lobby area can use some work but they are working on it. The walls just received a new coat of paint. Like any small business, the studio took a hit during the pandemic but the good thing is that students are coming back. The comment about the bathroom having no hand towels was just a one-off issue. read more

I attended a free trial last Friday and it was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. We arrived 7 minutes early, which was great considering I have a rather rambunctious 3 year old, to only be told at the "front entrance" that we can't enter here. There was only 1 other kid in the class (I found out later) and so the studio was pretty empty, and I was EARLY. But she made me walk all the way back to my car, put my daughter in her car seat, and try to find the back parking lot. We finally find it and there are only like 15 minutes left in the class. But the lady working that day didn't tell me this nor invited me in. There was a dad there that was like: this is probably her class right now. And I was like oh, should we go in? The lady says sure you can. We enter, the teacher basically is annoyed and tells us we can't do that. What?? I was here early for a free trial, she then tells me to park somewhere else, I end up being late plus person working front desk doesn't inform me of what to do, what's the point of her job? The teacher says we are not allowed in if we are late. What? But you kinda caused me to be late. She had been non stop texting me for days about whether I am attending Friday but NEVER once told me about the weird parking situation?? I arrive at front door and she runs over to tell me I can't come in! Ok fine so I go around and park in the back (putting my daughter back in car seat sucked!) Ok brush it off I tell myself, I mean I didn't want to disrupt the current class (ONLY 1 kid though in the room!) The woman working the front did no tour, no explanation, NOTHING. The Dad sitting there answered all my questions. I was furious when I left. I've never been treated so badly before and I want the owner to know this. I will never return. The teacher has major OCD for someone working with young kids. NO THANK YOU! Their door is also mislabeled in the back. The one that literally says Tiffany's Dance Studio is the wrong door. So I'm like knocking because it's locked. So that added time too. The woman is like: that's the wrong door. Next time use this one--a completely blank unlabeled door. OKAY! No thanks. read more

TDA has done an amazing job at keeping dance going during covid. They have offered so many free classes, have fun zoom classes, virtual and in studio recitals, and even in-person classes. We loved TDA before covid but have even more respect for them as they've figured out how to keep things fun and consistent. My daughter attended this school 2 years ago. Miss Ruth was not there yet (would not have given 5 stars in that case) there was another wonderful, kind lady, who was a pleasure to work with and so helpful! Ms.Ruth is no longer in San Ramon, now she is in South San Francisco and makes changes for the worse there. I hope San Ramon has a nice person in the office again. Well, my daughter did love her classes. Ms. Claire was wonderful. She is such a tallented teacher. I would say that she was our favorite! She is so patient and kind with little girls and does miracle organizing them, and her classes are so much fun. It does feel like they have a well-built system to get as much money as possible from the parents, but at the show, after you see your little princess on the stage and then Daddy & Daughter dance, it feels like it was worth it. After the show you can buy stage images from them online starting at $1, which is not too bad, given that even when you bring your camera it is impossible to take a good picture because the stage is so bright. If you take more then 1 class a week, they will give you 50% discount for the following class, which not many places do. read more

My 2 year old just started Tiffany Dance and she loves it. Miss Claire is soooo great with the kids. I know that it seems like a lot of money for their gear, especially when they grow out of it so fast - but these priceless memories and moments are worth it. Be forewarned to spend a lot of money on the required class "dress code" that constantly changes as they change the class and schedule every season. It is a whole money making machine for the school as the outfits and costumes are not cheap. I wish I read the past reviews before enrolling my daughter as I did not know that other parents felt the same way. My 5-year old daughter was enrolled in a class for about 6 months. After the season was over, I had to re-enroll her, but I was told that I had to buy her a new required "dress code" again. This was after I just spent about $300 on her outfits alone for her lilac tutu, shoes and costume which I was required to buy at their costume store. The teacher, Ms Tyler, was great. She kept the class fun and taught the basic ballet beautifully to a bunch of toddlers. Ms. Tyler reminded me of why I loved ballet and why I wanted my daughter to learn it. I wish she teaches in a dance school where the love of dancing is the main focus and kids can just wear pink tights, leotards and used costumes. However, I am so turned off with how the school is so money oriented that a 3-star rating is way more than generous. Lastly, don't fall for the photo day before the recital. Another overpriced money making activity. Just take a photo of your kid with their costume. read more

I liked the program for my older daughter. But, I have an issue with the younger 2 year old class. My daughter who is only 2 wanted to bring in a small tiny toy into class and hold in her hand. On two occasions Ms. Tyler ripped the toy out of her hand without warning. Well anytime you take something away from a 2 year old without warning, you end up with a crying child. Ms. Tyler then just pushed my youngest out the door cause she was crying. I understand why she doesn't want a crying child in the class, but let the 2 year old bring in her safety toy that makes her comfortable OR just give a warning to the child or put the toy to the side. Seriously it isn't like it is a competitive class. We are moving both our girls to another dance studio in the fall. read more

finally remembered to write this up to give you an insider's view. tiffany's does earn its one star because it is a dance studio and the kids do learn here. they get kudos for that. but here's why it doesn't get any other stars. i'll keep it to the points 1.tiffany's is very much business-oriented meaning they are all about making $$. at the recitals, the studio asks parents to donate time and baked goods, so they can sell them for a profit. really?? even after you charge for tickets, $30+ for the DVD, you want to make $$ on donated baked goods? also, a friend told me they now have a recital minimum for tickets. So if it's just you and your spouse, you will not have spent enough on the minimum to watch your child in the recital. better think about buying more tickets! 2.the recital DVD and pictures you must buy from them.......they prohibit you from taking video and pictures.....why? for the "safety" of your children because if you take pics/video, it is too easy for you to share via social media and there are kids involved, blah blah blah. what is the difference between sharing your pics from your camera versus purchased pics/video? nothing except they took your money if you bought from them. it's not about the kid's safety, it's about making more $$. Let's not try to BS paying customers. 3.costumes, they take your child's measurements, you go to THEIR website and enter in measurements and it tells you what size to buy. they take growing children's measurements about 8-9 months in advance. when you get your costume months later and it doesn't fit, they will not take it back. they will exchange it......for a fee. yes, i understand the costume is custom made but as a professional dance company, theytook the measurements, suggested what size to buy and then you have to pay the fee to get it changed. way to squeeze more $$ out of customers! 4.the office manager, yes, comments are true about her. she is not the friendliest, you can see it in her face. i really think she's there so you are afraid to voice an opinion, so they can keep making $$ off of you. we left a while ago, when we found out you can learn from other academies AND not feel like the company is trying to take every penny she can from you and your family. and i'm the only one that feels like this, what do you think the parents do while watching their children, they complain about how $$ hungry this company is. i will say the only reason we stayed there even though we felt this way, our child and we loved ms claire. she is a main reason why many parents overlook the $$ hungry company. again, many people's sentiments read more

I flew in from out of town to see my Granddaughter perform in her first Nut Cracker, and I was extremely disappointed that it wasn't all about the kids. Instead, It was all about the production and adults who performed, who were not paying students. Even more upsetting, and honestly, quite disturbing, was that the children were pushed to the back, while the adults (who were clearly hired by the dance Company), took the final bow. The children were simply pushed to the back, as if they didn't exist. I didn't fly out to see non-professional hired dancers - I flew out to see the children perform. What a disappointment for all the kids hard work, and the parents time and money, to make it all about anything other than the children. I enrolled my 3 yr old daughter because she enjoys dancing and I liked that they had recitals. Class time was only 30 minutes. Teacher was ok, granted it's hard to manage 3 yr olds but sometimes she was late or they'd have a sub which was ok but not ideal. Not much interaction between the teacher and parents. Mostly I disliked how disorganized this company is run. The website is confusing and piece-meal info is handed out in the form of random, last-minute emails regarding recital info/ costumes/ photo days. Dates and times were given at the beginning of the season and then changed. Basically I never knew what was going on. Needless to say we will not be returning. read more

I wouldn't even be giving Tiffany's Dance a star if I didn't have to.... I enrolled my daughter in their "Twinkle Babies" class this summer as it was basically the only one that offered a class for 2-3 years olds during the summer months. We wanted to do a fun class with her best friend who is 3.... Unfortunately, before the first class even started my daughter's friend was bumped up in to the next class due to her age (ok, fine). But when my daughter did turn 3 just a month after enrollment, she wasn't allowed to move up to the class with her friend (which was the whole point of enrolling in the first place). The director sent out an email prior to the class with the "required" attire... pink tights, pink tutu, etc. We were advised by someone who had previously attended the studio to buy the items through a dance store in Walnut Creek as it was cheaper then what the studio charges.... The first day of class the director very rudely "let me know" that I HAD to purchase the clothing items through them or my daughter wouldn't be allowed in the class. They changed their policy this year but NEVER specified in the ONE email that it must be purchased through them. So I had to go and buy more stuff through them.... The teacher, Ms. Tyler, is great with the little ones. She's friendly, fun and super sweet. The class itself did get a little repetitive but my daughter enjoyed going. Parents are not allowed inside the studio, so you have to sit in these metal chairs and watch through windows with blinds on them. You can barely see through them and certainly can't take any pictures. One day we arrived and Ms. Tyler told us it was "parent day"! Yay!!! We get to go inside.... the only thing was, is that they never told us ahead of time and no one had a camera, etc. People were PISSED. They spent half of the class describing how the recital would be run (9 months from then!!!!) and we watched our girls dance for about 15 minutes (of a 30 min class) The director is extremely rude and unfriendly; I'm not sure how to get on her good side (if she has one). The last time we attended class there, my 3 year old daughter was having a rough morning. She was crying and said she didn't want to go in the class. The director was standing at the door and watched everything. Several of the Mom's were so sweet and tried to encourage my daughter to go in there but she just stood there with a bitchy look on her face. My daughter finally stopped crying and said that she wanted to go in. Great! I walked her to the door and the director blocked me and said "she can't go in now". Flabbergasted, I asked why and she told me that "it would be a distraction to the other dancers and she has to wait until the song changes". Ummm... they are 2 years old; you are not running the SF ballet!!!! Several children weren't even looking at the teacher, one had a hula hoop around her neck and there was NO WAY that my daughter walking 5 feet to her spot in front of the teacher would be a "distraction". Kids are in and out all of the time to go to the bathroom, get a snack, etc. Not to mention, that just 2 weeks prior to this incident- there was a little girl who was also having a hard time going in to the dance studio. The director HERSELF attempted to escort the child in numerous times (while the child refused)- giving NO REGARD to the song changing, distraction to the other kids, etc. What a joke! Well, by the time the song DID finally changed my daughter was over it (so was I) and we packed up, left and haven't looked back. Unfortunately, my daughter's friend has also had terrible experiences with the director (worse that I experienced) and we've both pulled out of the program. I could go on and on about other incidents with the director but all in all- I have no idea how she still has a job... The whispers run rampant among the mother's who sit and watch their dancers. Everyone rolls their eyes, tells stories of how rude she was to THEM, etc. It is unfortunate because most of her rudeness affects these little girls who just want to dance. read more

Our daughter has been attending TDA for 2 years. She seems to like it, she enjoys goofing with her friends, loves her teachers, she was lucky to have Miss Ashley and Miss Claire. That being said, the management is horrendous! Miss Ruth, the director is the worst and rudest person you will ever have to deal with. They should call her Miss Rude. She has absolutely no respect to the parents, has zero customer service skills and her overall attitude is short of slapping you in the face, literally! TDA is run like a cash machine, there is no loyalty to current customers/families, you have to pay for every little thing, you have to commit to the recital months in advance and purchase the dress months ahead, you must purchase X tickets to the recital in order for your child to be eligible to attend, you have to use their Costume Manager to buy costumes, tickets, DVDs... On and on... They have the worst email communication in the planet. If it wasn't for the convenience of the location and the fact that our daughter has friends on the class... I would leave this place in a heart beat! I can honestly tell you that every parent I know feels the same way and I am surprised that their are only so few reviews to express the level of discontent about the service and attitude at this location. read more

My daughter has a lot of fun here. She dances with Ms. Stephanie and loves her! We are not in it for my daughter to become a professional ballerina. She just wants to dance with no pressure, and feel like part of a team/family. At this studio she can dance in a relaxed atmosphere with a couple of recitals a year. Yes, the costumes can be a little pricey, but hey, it's only twice a year. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a no pressure, fun dance class for their toddler/tween. read more

Not pleased with Tiffany's at all. My daughter enrolled in the program and it was a big disappontment. She is almost four years old and in a class with kids her age and the teacher doesn't really teach anything. She just gets up at the front and dances quite quickly and somehow expects the girls to be able to catch on? We had ordered our costume already for the June performance and even though I pulled my daughter out by January they did not refund the money which is silly. read more

Time to write review on TDA Yeah, when you go to this place, you feel - omg, how adorable are those lil girls. but that is it... Once you sign up, be ready to spend $$$ on all the drama and no dance. 1.TDA is the most business-oriented place I have seen. They know how to make money and how parents like us become money making machine for them. They have class practice costume, recital costume, other mandatory accessories, make-up..the list goes on. Unfortunately, if you enrolled in class and later plan to change the day/time, the costume may change (i.e. more money) and how would you let your child look left out. 2. Minimum $$ to be spent for recital tickets. 3. Picture day and then buy those pictures for $$ 4. The recital DVD and media pictures to be bought from them for $$. That too if you don't pre-order, prices go up. Sorry you cant take pictures/ video and it is not safe and distracts the kids/audience. Oh forgot to mention, and we can't make money. 5. Costume - That's all another story. Order ages before and remember you have growing kids. and if they don't fit them later.. not a problem. Can be exchanged for some $$. And we are taking about $80 recital costume for 4 year old to be worn once. 6. They let you enroll in the middle of the season. And then they tell you - sorry you have ordered your recital costume not in our safe window, so you may not get them by picture day. whaaaaaat, you should not let people enroll if you have such deadlines. It would be all worth, if you can see a performer getting emerged. I have not seen any attention to details or even trying to make those kids learn. God knows, what these kids do on recital days. If you don't care about your $$ and just like to see your girls have fun in the class and look pretty ... then this place is perfect (one star for making those little girls look adorable, but hey.. aren't those little adorable anyways). Tiffany's Dance Studio has an unrelenting and unrealistic attendance policy. They do not allow for make-ups, even for sick kids. They will charge you upfront for all sessions in a month. Mothers know that we cannot predict when our kids will be sick, but Tiffany's Dance Studio seems to think you can. They also cancelled my kids' class with only a few days notice, but we have no monetary consolation for when they rescind on their commitment. This is my second and final year with Tiffany's. My girls started in their Twinkle Stars class and continued on to the next level of classes this year. I've been very unhappy with the lack of attention and information from the studio's management this past year. There has been a revolving door for the studio director, we've have three different office managers this past year and there is no consistency whatsoever. There was a time where there was no personnel in the office for weeks and parents were not properly informed of the personnel changes going on in the office. The office seems disorganized and parents are always left wondering what's going on... The company charges you for classes that are held on major holiday's such President's Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day. Their dance sessions run through the end of June and start up again two weeks later in mid-July. Tiffany's is the only dance studio that I know of that has this type of schedule. The costumes for their year-end recitals are very expensive and they charge you for everything. They even require you to purchase a ticket for your dancer if they want to stay and watch the rest of the recital after they've performed. There is no interaction or feedback from the dance instructors and classes often start late. There are other dance studios in the San Ramon/Danville that offer more quality dance classes with a sufficiently and competently staffed office. We will NOT be returning to Tiffany's after this June. read more

I had good experience last year and my daughter made a good progress. Though this year I like the teachers here but the management lacks business ethics. My daughter was enrolled in 6 to 9 year HipHop class. The management combined the class with lower age class without informing parents. Now we have 20+ students from age Pre-school to 10 years in a call. The senior students just waste time with beginners and that is why there is very little improvement in performance. My child is attending TDA and she always comes home bubbling with excitement. She has a lot of fun and she is learning a ton. This is a successful dance school where the kids are having a good time and learning the skills to become real dancers. Angelica loves Miss Ruth and asks to go to dance class every day.
