Juicy soup dumplings & this swirling cheese, egg & butter action in this boat shape bread(Acharuli Khachapuri)! Overalll I was impressed. Service was fantastic and they were pretty busy considering it was Monday. Next time want to try their sizzling meat platter.

First time having Georgian food and so glad to have found that restaurant! Delicious food and service was great given how busy they were. The Georgian kebab with potatoes was my favorite dish of the evening. Indoor and outdoor seating. There is no wait list but the line for a table went quickly. The cheese bread took about an 1h15m to come out but was worth the wait.

Small family-owned restaurant, big Georgian pride. We've never had Georgian cuisine before, and Tiflisi welcomed our curious and hungry tummies with open arms. We went here for dinner and tried: - Assorted Pkhali: Colourful balled up vegetable spreads with walnuts. Super refreshing, tastily nutty, and great with bread. - Khachapuri Acharuli: OMG this was good. It was basically a lake of cheese in a boat of some of the best bread in the city. There's a yolk and butter sitting on top which you mix in with the cheese, making it even more thick and gooey. Not sure if this is the Georgian version of fondue but it was waaaaay better. Everything about this dish was so good! - Traditional Khinkali: Dumplings with soup, with a thick outer skin and a small patty-like filling inside. The beef and pork mix was pretty tasty, and I really loved the thick coating. - Chashushuli: Essentially, beef stew on a hot plate. While I would have liked the beef cubes to be a bit more tender, the hearty stew packed them with flavour. - Cake Napoleon: Light and flaky and buttery. Just a really good dessert. - Pelamushi: A traditional Georgian dessert. Consistency was jello-like, but sweet and much more gritty than I'm used to. But that's what's awesome about trying new cuisines right? Getting exposed to things that look seemingly familiar but taste entirely different. Service was super welcoming and helpful with recommendations. Kitchen was quick despite it being packed. Prices are not cheap but reasonable for what you get. Place itself is small but interesting and has a great casual atmosphere. I'm no expert on Georgian cuisine but I've definitely fallen in love with it because of this spot. Will be back for sure!

One of my favourite Georgian restaurants in the GTA!! All the dishes are so beautifully made and they taste incredible!! My favourite dish are the Khinkali and the Khachapuri! The service is one of the best here! The staff and owners are really kind and thoughtful! The ambiance is always happiness! I always have the best time at Tiflisi!

    * 5 Stars are solely dedicated to the Traditional Khinkali (Georgian soup dumpling). First time to try Khinkali in my life and I LOVED this. Massive, full of meat, spices, and broth. Khinkali felt doughier than other types of dumplings especially the top knot part. But learned that this part is just a handle to hold the dumpling, and not supposed to eat. Make sense! They were boiled perfectly - the dough around the meat was soft and elastic. The inside was minced meat which was coarsely ground, and with the perfect amount of spices - super hearty. The broth was plenty and rich. One of the most powerful, flavorful and dynamic food that I have eaten ever. Served no frills. The simple deliciousness demonstrates the good quality of the ingredients and authenticity. SOOO Happy!!!!!

What a great little place! Wonderful service and excellent food. I strongly recommend you call ahead and make reservations. Note, you will need to pay a deposit for the reservation. I'm guessing the restaurant has had too many people not show up for their reservation and losing out on potential walk-in business. The food is super taste. They seem to use quite a bit of cilantro, and if you are not a fan of it, like myself, the servers were great with providing recommendations of things I might like or dislike. We were a group of eight, so we were able to order a variety of items. Some of the highlights for us were: * Penovani - Puff pastry with cheese inside * Georgian Bread * Traditional Style "Khinkali" - Soup dumplings with beef & pork (this is one of the items with cilantro in it) * Chkmeruli - Fried chicken covered in a cream sauce with garlic (goes great with rice or bread) * Mixed Plate with Pork - comes with tried potatoes, marinated vegetables and rice. The menu says the platter seats 4 but we all agreed that I could easily feed 6 of us. * Strawberry Kompot We had a wonderful time, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Georgian food is probably one of the world's most underrated and under-appreciated cuisine in Toronto. It has distinct flavours comparable to Greece and the Mediterranean as well as influences from Turkey and Persia. Toronto doesn't have a lot of Georgian restaurants so we're happy that we can at least try Georgian comfort foods at Restaurant Tiflisi. If there's one dish that you should try here - it's gotta be their Khinkali. Think of Khinkali as a comparison to a Chinese Xia Long Bao. The main difference being is that Khinkali is boiled while Xia Long Bao is steamed. Khinkali's dough is also much thicker which is similar to a Turkish Manti. Ordered Tiflisi's Traditional Style Khinkali and it was the real deal. The ground beef/pork filling was well seasoned and encased in a light and fluffy dough. It was pure heaven biting into one of these dumplings with delicious juices flowing into your mouth. Kachapuri Acharuli is another favorite here. It's a Georgian cheese boat bread with egg yolk in the middle. Buttery, cheesy and doughy, this cheese-filled bread ticks just about every comfort food box there is. Tiflisi is also a meat lover's paradise as their main dish menu is a plethora of meat and potatoes ranging from barbecue to stews. Their Chicken Shashlik and Beef/Pork Georgian Style Kebabs tasted juicy, moist and flavourful. Authentic comfort Georgian food, Tiflisi also now carries the Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction which is awarded to restaurants that offer multi-course meals at reasonable prices. An award that is well-deserved indeed!

It's so hard to come to beaches and not eat at Limon, the restaurant next door which has been our favorite for a while. Finally, we made the leap and came here because we are big fans of the rich khachapuri. I think this is the only Georgian place or one of the few ones in GTA. Kachapuri was outstanding. It came out nice and hot and the cheeses and the eggs and butter were just perfect. The restaurant has a beautiful decor. Everything was smelling great. Wish we had a larger appetite to eat more. I know there will always be a next time. I would definitely categorize this place as fine dining. The service is very slow. That's the only reason I knocked a star off. The restroom is downstairs and has steep steps to go down.

We made reservations for 6:30 on a Thursday. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and has nine tables. Although small it is modern and clean. Our server was really nice and gave us some suggestions as to what to order. We ordered several items as we were out for the authentic Georgian experience. For drinks we had the Feijoa compote, two semi-sweet Georgian red wines and a shot of chacha. All these were great The red wines tasted like real grape juice made into wine. Slightly sweet and delicious. The compote was refreshing and was a little like guava. Food: Georgian salad-tomato, cucumber, onion with walnuts and cilantro-deliciously fresh and great tasting. khachapuri #4 (cheese boat with egg yolk)-bread was freshly made and the cheese and egg yolk-wow!? khimkali traditional-stuffed dumplings with soup-nice and spicy-yummy! and chkmeruli (fried chicken with garlic sauce)-nicely fried with a creamy garlic sauce!!! This was my first experience with Georgian food and hopefully not my last....dont think I'm going to be able to find it in my area.

yummy georgian food although they did spell the name of the restaurant wrong !! love the decor talia says "what about yelp"

This spot is incredible. The food is so delicious and hearty, and the atmosphere is filled with Georgian paintings, pottery, and TV. The service was very kind and showed us how to enjoy the soup dumplings properly. The khachapuri acharuli is a must try.

Absolutely delightful, eye-opening experience. (Wild to see a non-East Asian culture have soup dumplings!) Played it relatively conservatively (in terms of selection) for a vegetarian friend, but I'm excited to come back and try all the options. Service and decor were lovely as well.

I read about Tiflisi in an article from BlogTO about new restaurants that opened in Toronto. I have a friend from Georgia so I was super excited about trying some Georgian food. It isn't everyday that you get to try Georgian food. I picked up my order from the restaurant and it looked like a super nice venue. The staff were also ver friendly. The food, was amazing. My friend recommended we order Khachapuri Acharuli, the traditional style khinkali, and the Chakhohbili, some classic Georgian dishes. We enjoyed all of it. Our favorite was the Khachapuri Acharuli, soft delicious pide-like bread topped with Georgian cheese. It was absolutely breathe taking. I'm sorry to break it to my Turk friends, but I think I enjoyed the Khachapuri Acharuli better than Pide. I'm sorry.

Kachapuri (cheese & egg yolk in the middle) - savoury deliciousness!

A lot of beatiful European-looking clienteles (and we are the only non-European one). lol. Upon sitting: Free bread and pickled spicy beets/cabbage are provided, along with 4 different types of sauces. We ordered: 1.khinkali (dumpling beef and pork). 3 HUGE pieces of dumpling. Theres broth inside the dumpling. Taste yummy and homey 2. Goergian bread with chese and runny eggs in the middle. best to eat while it's warm. the bread feels fluffy. cheese is not heavy as i thought. 3. (medium-grilled) baby lamb rack comes with side dishes & bread. tender. 'homey' taste (not overpowering like typical food in restaurant). 4. walnut cake comes with vanilla ice cream. cake doesnt feel condesed/heavy like typical cake! and definitely great mix with ice cream. Overall, food taste 'homey', which is good/different experience. But didnt feel compatible with high-price (receipt with food name&price are attached for reference). We will not be back as there's nth really memorable/oustanding flavor-wise..(except for the great service!) With same spending, we feel it's more worthed to spend in different restaurant. The schnitzel that I ordered (Wiener Schnitzel) was enough to feed 3 people. Mine was with the potato salad that you pay an extra $2 (worth it in my opinion) or you could get it with rice and fries. It also comes with a salad. We also ordered the Potato Dumplings (Halusky) which brought memories of my trip to Slovakia a while ago. We also ordered some Pillsners Urkell to wash down our food. The schnitzel is a bit on the salty side so the Halusky, potato salad and salad provides a nice balance. The food took a very long time to arrive so that's something to be aware of. I'm not sure if it was a one off or if it's a regular occurrence. The food was worth the wait though. My advice will be to come as soon as they are open. The decor needs improvement but you are not coming here for the ambience. The food prices might seems expensive but when you compare it with the amount of food that you get, it's really not. There's parking at the back and the restaurant it's a bit lax about their opening time which is 5pm. We arrived at 5pm but needed to knock so they could open for us. It's in the same block as Dairy Cream so it was convenient for us. We did not finish our food as we were saving room for the ice cream. It's worth a visit if you are fan of schnitzels!

The Pork Borscht was hearty and comforting, and I loved the traditional pampushky bread. The appetizer portion was very generous. The Adjarian Khachapuri was beautifully presented. The egg and cheese combination tasted delicious, but unfortunately the dough was slightly undercooked. It felt like the kitchen may have been overwhelmed by how busy service was. For dessert, I ordered the Sour Cherry Varenyky -- dumplings filled with sour cherry and served with sour cream. This dessert didn't quite work for me. I can imagine it being nostalgic for those who grew up with it, but the filling lacked sweetness and the addition of sour cream made it taste even more tart. That said, I usually enjoy sour flavours, so this one just didn't land for my personal taste. I tried honey cake thst my friend ordered and I was not disappointed though. I would like to return and give this restaurant another try, as the extremely busy service may have affected both food execution and overall service quality.

This restaurant was Ukrainian style, good location in Downtown Toronto. Their website was updated to reflect new dishes and menu. We booked a reservation at 11:30am on Saturday, and they only allowed to stay for 2 hours (the waitress told us we could stay until 1:30pm when we arrived around 11:45). The lunch winterlicious included 1 of 3 Appetizers, 1 of 3 mains, 1 of 3 desserts. We got a Pork soup (Borscht), deep fried chicken (Schnitzel), and honey cake with customized caramel walnuts. We also ordered Deruny Benedict with Smoke Salmon. The soup was coming with some bread and sour cream, but a bit salty for us. As an appetizer, it was ok. The Benedict with Smoke Salmon, somehow the smoke salmon was fishy that the pancake at the bottom was also fishy. Salad within the Benedict and the sauce were great. The fried chicken was no sauce, it was a bit dry for me. At last, the honey cake came in the middle of our meal, too early. There was walnut on it, we didn't realize until see it, my little one has allergy with nuts, we didn't ask at the beginning. About their service, when we just arrived, she mentioned 2 hours limit for the dining period. I feel like she doesn't want us to stay, because we have a kid that we might not able to finish our lunch in 2 hours, or we might occupy the table too long. As first time comer, she didn't ask if we have any allergies. Lucky that we caught it. We finished within 50mins, still have enough time to go washroom and pay the bill. But we have to watch the time. Maybe we would like to relax a bit more next time.
