The playground is awesome. Taylor Swift went to high school in Hendersonville. So she herself paid for the playground equipment for the kids. And I must say the playground equipment itself is super cute! Love the castle. It's awesome to see celebrities give back to their hometown. And they have a take a book leave a book library for the kids. Amazing! 2. Such a great spot for a quick fishing trip. I always see lots of people on the shore fishing and a few in their kayaks as well. On our most recent trip, my father in law caught a small bass. Of course we let it back into the water, but my kids were so excited to see their grandpa hook one. 3. There's also a handful of tennis courts that were being perused. The walking trail is a great way to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and get some exercise! And with the scenery, it's a nice spot for a date or picnic with the family. Just be careful where you step since there are a lot of ducks roaming the area. 4. And the bathrooms are spotless!!!!! I had to throw that in there. This is such a great place for families and to enjoy the fresh air.

It's out in Hendersonville on Old Hickory Lake, and it has a handful of pavilions (five I think) as well as several picnic tables. There is a boat ramp at Rockland, and a lot of people fish or launch their boats from the area. I've been to a handful of picnics and large, organized "get-togethers" (as my family calls them) at Rockland. There is plenty of room for the little ones to run around or for a game of football or frisbee. Rockland has a pretty nice view of the lake, and it's right beside the Old Hickory Dam. There's a great stretch of shore near the dam that makes for some of the best fishing in the area, and it's a lovely place to just take a walk or enjoy the scenery. Not my favorite park in the greater Nashville area, but possibly my favorite in Hendersonville.

The park itself is huge covering close to 150 acres, and features multiple sports complexes for different sports including baseball, football, soccer and even volleyball! In addition there is a paved walking trail that stretches over 3 miles from entry to exit, and gets even longer if you walk the parking lots that connect the two! The walking path is one of my favorites as it is fairly scenic for a park walking path with portions covered, shrouded in trees and alongside the creek, while the other part is open-air surrounding the soccer fields and dog park, but also still next to the creek. There are also gazebos, benches, picnic tables and playgrounds scattered throughout. The above are things that you naturally find at local parks, but a bit upgraded I would say...and in addition Moss Wright has a fairly newly constructed outdoor gym spot to help with a quick circuit workout. Lastly, this park is full of history from the Bowen House to Mansker's Station plus this park is location to the Goodlettsville Welcome/Visitors Center. Parking is plentiful. No matter which entrance you come in through or what area of the park you are after, parking is available. The park and all the facilities including the restrooms are very well kept from a cleanliness and condition standpoint. Overall, Moss Wright Park is a favorite of mine...funny enough, I am headed there to get a few miles in after submitting this review!

Overall I am very impressed with the marina and the people who work there. They take care of the docks and slips and are very friendly to you. I like the extra security of all the docks being locked up. Located in Hendersonville on Old Hickory Lake, Creekwood allows you to easily get onto and around the lake from its location. There's plenty of parking for you and friends if you want to spend a day on the water. Slips can be pricey, but that's kind of part of owning a boat. And you see all different kinds of boats at Creekwood, from small fishing boats to huge houseboats. And there's a place to gas up right at the end of the docks before heading out for the day. It's location protects you from really choppy waters and there are plenty of little inlets to anchoring your boat and floating that are very close to the marina itself. Also, side note, there's a gas station right across the street if you run out of beer. I have always enjoyed my time and Creekwood and my friends who have slips here have been pleased as well. If you are interested in docking here give them a call. Also, they are part of the Nashville Boat Club, in case you want to take one of their boats out as a member...they have reasonable hours for those as well. I would recommend this place to seasoned or new boaters.
