All I can say is that this is a beautiful, peaceful area that is well maintained by local park/county officials. They've built a modern bathroom that is kept clean (when open) as well. There are no trails here--just several picnic tables, grills, playground equipment, stone tables, and a boat ramp. It's a good place to pack a lunch, watch the boats coming and going and observe the animals.

I have been to this park several times with my wife to cook out and fish. The fishing is not awesome or anything however it is very relaxing and fun to get outside. The area is always clean and the charcoal grills are usually always cleaned and ready for use. There is a playground area with swings and a multi purpose jungle gym. There have been as few as one other car load of folks to very populated. Even when loaded with folks, you can find a table and grill area open. There is a covered section with tables. I have seen birthday parties on multiple occasions. There is ample parking for the size of the area. I have posted some photos of the area so be sure to have a look. It really is a great place to get away to and have a picnic if you plan on grilling out or bringing sandwiches.

Tucked away north of…read morethe city in Goodlettsville, Moss Wright Park has all the quintessential offerings of a city park plus a few extras! The park itself is huge covering close to 150 acres, and features multiple sports complexes for different sports including baseball, football, soccer and even volleyball! In addition there is a paved walking trail that stretches over 3 miles from entry to exit, and gets even longer if you walk the parking lots that connect the two! The walking path is one of my favorites as it is fairly scenic for a park walking path with portions covered, shrouded in trees and alongside the creek, while the other part is open-air surrounding the soccer fields and dog park, but also still next to the creek. There are also gazebos, benches, picnic tables and playgrounds scattered throughout. The above are things that you naturally find at local parks, but a bit upgraded I would say...and in addition Moss Wright has a fairly newly constructed outdoor gym spot to help with a quick circuit workout. Lastly, this park is full of history from the Bowen House to Mansker's Station plus this park is location to the Goodlettsville Welcome/Visitors Center. Parking is plentiful. No matter which entrance you come in through or what area of the park you are after, parking is available. The park and all the facilities including the restrooms are very well kept from a cleanliness and condition standpoint. Overall, Moss Wright Park is a favorite of mine...funny enough, I am headed there to get a few miles in after submitting this review!

The park offers all the staples from baseball/softball fields, a walking track, a pond, multiple playgrounds and of course ducks! We don't live too far, so we bring the pup here to change the scenery up for our walks. We hit the walking loop that surrounds the pond, where 2.25 loops equals one mile. The pond is fishable, and it is always active with amateur anglers. Everyone is friendly and seems to follow the rules. Surrounding the pond is a first come first serve pavilion with picnics, a playground and a detached swing set. Park is plentiful around the park as a whole. This comes in handy when the fields are all in use. The park is fairly clean and well maintained. Overall, we enjoy having Cedar Hill Park nearby. You will definitely find us cruising around the pond multiple days throughout the year!

But it was expensive, didn't work well, and steamship utilization drops. Nashville Parks and Rec took over managing it this park in 1956. It has 5.73 acres, overlooking the Cumberland River. It was actually hard for me to get a good picture of the river, because there were so many people fishing! This is the first Nashville park we've hit that had people fishing, which was fun to see. It has a playground, a boat launch, and the original lock keeper's house.

I've made friends, ran races, had full character development arcs, and I see the same deer so often that we're basically on a "head nod" basis. I've named them. They know my schedule. One of them owes me money. Honestly, Nashville Parks should either sponsor me, put my name on a bench, or issue a restraining order.

I have been making my way to all the Metro parks and Shelby Park sits high on my list right now, and for good reason! The park is well equipped with all the park staples and even a few specialty areas. I come here for the trails, as I love wandering around the park, through the woods, by the golf course and around the water. Just something about it all that makes the walks a bit more enjoyable. In addition to the trails the park offers the classic park offerings such as playgrounds, gazebos and sporting fields. The park is well kept and clean. All parks are a bit worn and dated, but it is not enough to detract from the park itself. Nashville does a good job keeping the parks in good working order, as well as clean. Overall, I am a fan of Shelby Park!

If I could give this business 10 stars I would. This was a great idea! The previous review was A1,…read moredef stop at a gas station after the 2nd exit before or after the trip. Billy is a cool cat! Call at least a day or few hours ahead in case they are slow, he is very helpful with directions. We paid $45 for a tandem and everything was perfect. The scenery is so beautiful and water is nice for a swim. One thing there is a TON of spiders and snakes so be ready to avoid the fallen branches and whatnot. It's also very quiet aside from one local we had the entire river to ourselves. Adventures like these are what memories are made of, thanks Billy!
