We called maybe 3 times today to check when they were open to - we were leaving early tomorrow morning to go back home. This place not only said they would stay open but that they were waiting for us. We came all the way from Murrels inlet to this place not only because of the hours given but because the guy on the phone was so sincere. We even called on our way and they said they would be open. We got there, shop closed & someone inside saying they were closed after we described what we wanted on the phone. I work in the customer service industry & don't think I have ever written a review. The fact they literally told us they were staying open and going to do our tattoos so that we traveled 30 minutes, just for them to close. Can't speak on their work or what they do if you would be there earlier but the lady on the phone and the service we got when we arrived 45 minutes before closing was actually wild. read more

I came on 8/15/2023 last year to get a tattoo and it was the worst experience ever! The artist was OVER a hour late to even unlock the door, once I finally got inside it took almost another full hour to even get a stencil going, they had to run to Office Depot to get more stencil paper. The artist smelled like cat piss (obviously on meth or some other drug) his line work and shading is shit. No apologies for being late, no discount, nothing! Still had the nerve to charge $200 for this shitty art. Save yourself the headache and go to a reputable artist with good reviews. I'm so glad that Myrtle Beach Ink provided horrible service since they're the reason why we ended up at Tiki Tattoo. As soon as we walked into Tiki, we were greeted by a super friendly staff. So at 52, I decided I was going to get a tattoo! After careful research with the many parlors here in Myrtle Beach, I saw that Tiki Tattoo was one of the best on the strip! And our experience did not disappoint! I was so nervous. They were simple designs, but I didn't know what to expect. My husband already has tattoos, but this was new to me! We were walk ins, and we were lucky enough to have Gerassimos available to translate and complete it right then. He took his time to tweak the design and have it just the way we wanted. You can see the care he put into making sure we were happy. Because of the simplicity, they didn't take a lot of time, but the time we did spend with Geras was so amazing! He was great to talk to and to call him a very interesting person is an understatement. It was a tiny bit uncomfortable, but nothing like the pain I thought it would be. LOL! I think too that the whole laid back atmosphere of the place and the kindness of the people made it easy to relax and just enjoy the experience. In addition, we were lucky enough to meet the owner, Art. We spoke with him for a while while Geras was preparing the tattoos. Art is the definition of an "old soul". I was there 10 minutes and I knew we were at the right place. If you're new to getting a tattoo, this is the place for you. If you have a lot and want more, this is the place for you! Thought we did our research, read reviews, etc. but I walked out very unhappy once I actually looked at my tattoo up close for longer than a minute. Lines are far from straight, connecting lines overlap each other, squiggly lines, etc. Paid $200 plus tip for a tattoo that I now have to get fixed back home. read more

I came in with multiple pictures of ideas and asked her to draw up something she loves too. The tattoo I ended up with was better than any of the reference photos. Tiki tattoo is clean, safe, and professional work. Staff is so friendly and reassuring. Kayla told me multiple times, "if you need anything at all please let me know I'm here to serve you to the best of my ability!" Kind, funny, outgoing and beyond talented. All five of us got there as soon as it opened to make sure we could all get in. as soon as we walked in they were very rude. this was all of our first tattoos. the upfront fee was $100 and all of the tattoos we had in mind would have taken around 10 minutes apiece. that to me sounds crazy. one of the friends with us already had 5 tattoos and his were way cheaper, more detailed, and bigger. when my friend showed her design, witch was a cross, the guy started laughing and called her a "karen". needless to say we left and will never be returning. find another place in myrtle beach to get a tattoo! read more

Decided to get a tattoo while on vacation. The place I normally go was booked, and we were leaving the next day. I went into tiki tattoos not even thinking it may not have been a reputable place because I got right in. The artist slapped the marking on my arm and seemed to be in a hurry. He didn't tell me to get up to check the placement. I guess it was my fault for not getting up to look in the mirror. Well, he got done with the small tattoo- about 2-3 inches- in about 4 minutes. When I went out to show my husband, he said, "omg it is uneven and crooked! The tattoo I got next door was bigger and I was $80. This place charged me $200! I was so mad but wanted to get out of there. The girl who took the money was actually waiting for a tip! I emailed the company many times after, and the Keene was RUDE and didn't care that I was happy. This is something I am stuck with, and they just wanted their money. They are a rip-off! read more

I am so sorry I have to edit my review.. I got my tattoo and it scabbed I followed the instructions to the letter for caring for the tattoo. I called them and told about the scabbing and all I recived was it was my fault that I had done something wrong. I explained to her that the writing came out fine it was my silhouette of the picture which was the size of dime that scabbed into a horrible scar. She said I would have noticed scaring of the tattoo before I left. She said to come in and see what we could do, but not as pleasant as she was in the beginning. So I asked her should I wait till it heals to come back and she said it was up to ME..WHAT?!!! This was my first tattoo and I was told if I had any questions or concerns to give them a call. I guess that was before they got PAID. I really was fooled by the level of care I thought was there. Now I'll have to get another tattoo to cover this one.
