When I visited they were one of the finalists in the running for Brisbane's best coffee, best barrister and best breakfast so they obviously have been turning a lot of heads. Served in a sundae glass it felt a lot more "naughty" and calorie-laden than it actually was and the frozen whipped banana (a great recipe with ridiculous ease) gives this a creamy sensation without the regret later in the day! Verdict: The coffee is consistent and for commuters stoping enroute to the train, this is key. The menu is cute and quirky and from my experience today backs it up with the goods. Four weeks in since opening, locals have clearly adopted this new kid on the block as their own and there's already customer / barista first-name-basis relationships in action. But, to be honest, it didn't blow me away. It's a great staple for locals but not for a trip to visit here alone.

These guys tell and serve it to you like it is. Order off the menu. Additions cost $, deal with it. Don't be on the phone when you order and don't bring you three wide pram and park in the middle of the main thoroughfare. If you are one person, sit at a table appropriately sized for your oneness. Coffee is Genovese and is consistently great. Food is tasty and reasonable portions for reasonable prices. There are often specials on the board so check those out.

I decided to go there for breakfast on a Sunday a while back (when my intention was just to go to Woolies and grab some milk), so I wasn't really dressed for an outing. It had been a long while since I visited a cafe myself and had a bit of me time. Reverends Fine Coffee is situated in the Fortitude Valley neighboring a bunch of other cafes and restaurants. I ordered a skinny cap and one lamington. The coffee was amazing and I really appreciated that they used real chocolate on top instead of cocoa powder. The coffee was silky and smooth. It didn't give me that bitter and acidic aftertaste, which was to my appealing. As for the lamington, I liked it too but the cake was a bit dry but the chocolate coating and coconut shreds compensated the fact that the cake wasn't moist enough. But the good thing was the lamington wasn't overly sweet. Another thing I liked about the café was their interior design and layout of the cafe. The café is divided into indoor and outdoor seatings. I chose a table inside as shown in the pic. I loved the industrial vibe the room provided (that brick wall was everything) and the art works on the wall were well appreciated and gave an artistic feel. The music playing in the background was also really soothing and relaxing. The service was alright, but not outstanding. Except for the the brief moments where I placed my order, there was basically no more interaction with the staff. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. Will go back some other time.
