I went here for the first time Friday to get my hair cut, when I got home I noticed it was uneven. I called back because I didn't like my haircut, when the barber ,who's is the owner as well Tre Tillman, told me to come back so he could fix it, I told him no and that I wanted my money back. He said Hispanics like me always want a free haircut and that I had f'ed up hair to begin with. So we insulted each other for a few minutes, he challenged me to come back so he could kick my a** and to watch my back because I didn't know who I was messing with. It didn't stop there, he threatened my livelihood and said he knew where I worked. You should not threaten people. Do not go there because the customer is never right. read more

Awful! This was the worst haircut experience of my life. When I sat in the chair, I started to show the barber (Christine) pictures of what I wanted done (my last haircut from up north a month ago). She exclaimed, "Oh, God, I hate pictures!" and then rolled her eyes. I was just about to get right back out of the chair, which is really what I should have done. Then she went on, "they don't tell me anything about length. I get it, you don't wanna be bald, OK." Then, before I knew it, she had the clipper going and attacked my hair. The damage was already done. She was "singing" along badly and incorrectly to the music on the radio -- making up her own words -- and just destroying my hair. I was praying for it to be over. Then she got off on a political rant, "The Democrats want to give medical insurance to all the damn illegals and my daughter has cancer!" Lady, I didn't come in for a political tirade. I just wanted you to give me the haircut in my pictures, which every other barber I have ever been to has appreciated seeing very much. Now, I look like someone who got their hair cut by a person who was drunk. It's awful. This person woke up on the wrong side of the bed and now I have to look like I'm the one who did for the next two weeks until it grows out enough for me to do something about it. I urge all potential customers to steer clear of this barber. I am not posting pictures because I am too embarrassed. My next stop is Ron Jon's to buy a hat to wear for the next week or two. I never wear hats, but this time I will make an exception. That's how bad it is. read more

Came here for a vacation haircut. Glad I did. Trey Tillman is a Philly guy just like me! Gave me exactly what I wanted. The shop is tucked in a corner of a strip mall with Publix as the anchor. Had to drive fully around the back to get where I needed to go. As I was getting my cut, four others came in. Trey needed to get some help! And, he seemed to know everyone who came in, so you know he gets repeat business which is a good thing. Conversation was good about sports and stuff of the day going on in Philadelphia - he knew all about our convicted District Attorney! Ha! Came out of here the first time with a med skin fade and hard part, pretty simple and quick. Took an hour and a majority of my hair was uneven or cut an odd length up top with ... idk... feathering? I figured okay whatever maybe they had a bad day. Came here a second time and asked for the same thing, the lady spent almost an hour and a half on my hair. Never showed me the back and I could feel her nervously trying to do a hard part. Came away with a "fade" that is basically half my head shaved. If you DON'T know how to do something, DON'T do it. Place is dirty and unorganized, which also struck me off as they had zero customers inside. Clean the place up. Won't be back. Don't waste your money unless you don't care how your hair looks. read more

Traveled into Coco Beach from Texas for an annual conference. I was truly in need of a cut. Contacted Tillman's and Kat was able to provide me one of the greatest grooming I have ever had on short notice. Professional, courteous and experienced. Kat is a fantastic barber who new exactly what I wanted and provided me the perfect cut. When I'm at home I general move between two barbers, but I felt right at home in Kat's chair. If I could give 0 stars I would. I walked in today and waited over an hour to get a cut. A kid walked in AFTER me and immediately he and Kat spoke in Spanish to each other. She told the kid in Spanish that he would be next. Kat did take the kid next and skipped over me. Not knowing that I speak Spanish, I did wait to see if she would do the right thing. She DID NOT. This is my first and only 1 star. Persuaded by the high reviews, I popped in for a much-needed haircut while passing through town. I believe my barber's name was Terry. While she was very nice and engaging, my hair was butchered, and, what's more, it took to the tune of an hour. The virtually-no mask rules and inappropriate conversations from the gents in the seat over didn't help the overall disappointing experience. I just came up on a month and went in to my regular barber for what he referred to as, "damage control." It doesn't bring me any joy giving this rating, but it will honestly be remembered as the worst haircut of my life. read more

The hair cut was okay but the haircut took almost 90 minutes and the barber charged me a long hair fee even though my hair was not long. It felt like she just charged it because she felt that she deserved it because she took so long. There was a patch of skin on the side of my head that was inflamed for two weeks after I got my hair cut so they need to clean more often. read more

Had surgery a few days ago on my dominant right hand. I'm unable to shave due to my hand. Went in with over a weeks heavy beard growth. Kat took me right away. My beard was so heavy that she had to first use the clippers and electric razor. Then she moisturized it and put on a hot towel which she then steamed. Moisturized again then completed the shave with a straight razor. She then used a cold towel and finished cleaning my neck,ears and eyebrows. She spent a lot of time. It came out fantastic. The good old American barber shop isn't that common these days. I don't need a lot of hair product, nor do I need a lot of brass and neon. We were clients of Great Clips, but were referred here and thought would be nice to try a proper barber now that my son (13) is getting older. I'm glad it's just hair and will grow back. Zero conversation, handled rough, and left him with a shelf and bald patches. On the plus, it was a quiet Saturday and they were able to take him right in. Cute place, clean. But better atmosphere and talent at Great Clips. So will have to let it grow out a week or two and take him to Great Clips for a correction. read more

It's not easy to find people who can do a pixie cut on curly hair. In my experience, alot of hairdressers can do many long hairstyles on women but struggle with shorter cuts. This is why I'm not keen on trying new places. However, I didn't have time to get a hair cut before my trip to Cocoa Beach and I badly needed to fix my over grown used-to-be-pixie. After being in Florida since March, and having tried several other "Barbers" in the Merritt Island area, I gave Tillman's a try in what I thought would be another disappointment in the search for a good, classic Barber. Now, to be fair, I'm from Philadelphia and my Barber there was an 80-something Italian man under the el - the oldest and last business in a lost neighborhood - whose clients came from City Hall all the way out to North Jersey. He was that good - the kind of guy that never forgot a name once he heard it, had the what's up on the entire city, and did your ears and neck with warm lather and a straight blade every time. Super detail type, loved what he did, and did it exceptionally. So to be fair, I have a high standard. Tillman's reminded me of Nunzio's under the El. In fact, the owner, Tre, is from Philly. So far, this has been the only place that knows what "tight" means. A lot of joints call themselves a Barber Shop - I don't know if it's in vogue or what - but a good Barber gets his trade from another Barber, not a beauty school. I don't know where these two learned, but they act like they came up in it. Super friendly, knowledgable about the area, a great clean cut, and focused on making sure the cut's right. Christine did a high fade - blending in my beard - that is straight, tight, and clean. Nothing much to say about it other than it was perfect. The search for a Barber is finally done.
