Also at the price of admissions every Guest should be offered a ballon upon leaving. As for the Staff- it seems as their only concern is to process your payment. It's also obvious they do not want you to preview the space before entering. They are also are quick to give mumbled directions, and are inattentive to guest and seem to have no experience or patience dealing with groups and young people. Finally, there is no direct way to contact/speak to anyone from the iMuseum as their phone number is inactive and there is no immediate response from their contact form or instagram messenger. Regardless of all of this, the only positive thing I can say about the iMuseum is that its rooms are really cool to take pictures, but I do wonder if they are regularly wiped downed and cleaned as it's a touch experience.

Generally, you had a good mix of things. I could have taken more time and spent more in the American or Mediterranean. I do see you are a woke institution, which was not enjoyable to me. You can have a separate room or wing for what black women in the neighborhood years ago went though; then, in the name of reality, other months cover Italians being called "niggers"; Irish being indentured servants; Armenian and Jewish genocide; Greeks being slaves under Moslem Turks for 400 years; actual Nazis and crazy Communists like Stalin killing millions; Cyprus being split in two by Turks in 1974; Pakistanis and Indians killing each other; Koreans being discriminated against, etc. This country has many different people in it, don't they deserve equal coverage? ;) If I go apple picking, I want apples, not bananas or a monkey wrench out of nowhere. If I want to see furniture in an 1800s house, I don't want to see people who were not owners on the wall or Halrme or Chinese or Shakesperean or Oklahoma farm or even a Plainfield home (not Newark), etc. furniture or photographs on the wall. I think every culture has something to teach us. And I prefer my own, as I am sure many others, like Chinese, black, etc., even from certain countries or regions of countries do. I'd love to learn about different Indian tribes as I did in the seventh grade. However, insinuating someone died of myeloma due to being disregarded or white supremacy insults my intelligence. I am sure there has been discrimination, but without specificity as to that example, it is propaganda and a false narrative. I had a very close relative die of that and they were white. Perhaps science just does not have the cure, and also, many doctors are dumb in the moment and make mistakes. Also, in the Mediterranean exhibit, Egyptian had to be put in front of Greek or Italian. The Brooklyn Museum has no Greek or Roman art, I think. Perhaps take turns with put different ones in front of the other in different times. All of this is driving people in the country apart.

Local gem and creative events…read more Visited with some family going to see some of the local history. Staff were super welcoming and I was blown away by the photos of the Inwood/Washington Heights before the subway was introduced uptown. The vast swath of farm land and this farmhouse is one place to see how it looks in that bucolic time period. The backyard had a hessian hut of what the military groups used during the historical time period. It is fascinating to think about so much history that took place across the last four centuries in Manhattan and previous to the European arrivals. Thank you for having a local spot for people to learn about history. Great value.

The Farmhouse was closed but it was still worth visiting and mulling over how they farmed on all that rocky terrain.

I knew a good bit about Basquiat before this exhibit, but now I feel like I know him as a person…read morerather than a phenomenon. This exhibit, curated by his family from their personal collection, is a colorful multi-media feast for the eyes. It not only boasts lesser known or unknown works, but large works that take up entire walls. One of his last paintings, a gift to his father, is also on site. Some of his more overtly political pieces are there. There are recreations of his home living room and dining room, as well as his studio spaces. There are multiple video interviews/testimonies with his family members that share who he really was. What he meant to the people who really knew him. I was touched by the address/note book carried by his father with his goals written in it. I teared up at reading about how his father fought to protect Basquiat's legacy for his entire life. I also love how music and the 80s are woven into this space. There is a very cool "club" setup with TVs playing 80s music and showing candids from his clubbing days. It was the perfect end. I really loved this exhibit, and I'm glad I went. I paid the huge markup fee for the "skip the line," but I got there first (I arrived at 9:45 for a 10 AM time). A line did form behind me. The flow was pretty good and not too crowded. Please make your online reservation beforehand.

I'm a super fan of Basquiats work so I was head over hills when I heard this exhibition was coming to Chelsea. I had tickets for 1pm and the line was wrapped around the block. They have skip the line tickets but I don't think it's worth the price unless you're in a rush. The line moved quickly and they honored my 1pm ticket time. The exhibition and works of art was curated wonderfully allowing one to delve deep into the life of Basquiat even giving us a glimpse into his art studio, the apartment where he grew up, and countless audio visuals of his family speaking about how legendary he was and continues to be. The only con I had was the souvenir shop which was a bit under stocked, a tad corny, & very expensive. I live for souvenirs & couldn't wait to add to my already existing Basquiat collection but I wasn't impressed. The t-shirt I did want was $75 and living in the times of inflation, I couldn't bring myself to buy it. There wasn't much else to be desired. Forgive me for comparing this exhibition to Van Gogh's Immersive exhibition but they had amazing souvenirs as well as a cafe that was inspired by his works. I left with posters, cookies, an umbrella, pens, a cute tote that was reasonably priced and was able to eat lunch & dessert. Despite me not purchasing any souvenirs :( I still had a great time.
