A few months after starting up a run session I joined their group session in the pool. I had never swam more than playing in the water as a kid. It didn't take too long before I was doing free style swimming without the aid of swim equipment (buoys, fins, kick boards). Next I jumped into biking and increased my skills there, even learning how to change out a bike tube in time for my first triathlon race (where I happened to need that skill).
