I'm not sure what the prices were, but it was a bit under $10 for everything. The lemon brownie was like a lemon square and was simultaneously tart and sweet. It was lovely. The croissant was flaky and tasted fresh. The cookie was a bit too salty for my liking, but wasn't bad. They have gluten-free and keto options too. The man serving us was nice. Worth a visit if you find yourself in Carleton Place, or of course if you live there ;) Street parking only. Of note: Google maps took us to the wrong location and actually to a parking lot nearby for other businesses. The address is on Allan Street so turn on Allan, don't turn southwest on "Mill Street" from Bridge Street like Google Map told us to (Mill Street only runs northeast off Bridge Street, so turning southwest is turning more into an alley way and not really a street).

After rolling it up, they added a few cubes of pineapple and sprinkled on shredded coconut and drizzled on some pineapple syrup. I would have loved some whipped cream, haha. It's just a bit pricey for my budget, so nice for a once in a while treat, but I won't be a regular lol. However, it's about the same price as at Roll'd Up, which is the only other place in Ottawa that sells rolled ice cream, so I guess that's what the market will bear. Back in January we came across an article about Personal Service Coffee in Kanata that offered over 500 varieties of kcups. My wife and I visited the store and were in total amazement at the setup and the selection. There Wall of Coffee is really amazing, It's like a candy store experience but for coffee drinkers. What I personally like about Personal Service Coffee is the fact they have such a huge selection of kcups that no one else in the city offers. Plus they offer some really nice premium blends that are definitely not available anywhere in Ottawa. The super cool factor about buying coffee there is that they offer individual kcups, that means yo can mix and match any variety of coffee you want. My wife prefers the milder blends, I however prefer a more rich and bold coffee. They have fair trade coffee and blends from all over the world. We usually pick up a box of a preferred coffee like the Nantucket blend from Green Mountain but I then mix and match on Sumatran, French Roast, Blue Jamaican, Kona, and a few others. Nick and Louise are the owners and they go out of their way to make you feel welcomed in the store. Oh and before I forget, every time you go to Personal Service Coffee you are offered a free coffee of your choosing, freshly brewed for you on the spot, yikes, I love it. I waited a few months to make a comment about them because I wanted to see if they were going to live up to their promise and so far not disappointed. If you live in the Ottawa area especially Kanata and the surrounding areas like Stittsville, Carp, Nepean the drive is quick and well worth going there. I told a few friends on the other side of Ottawa in Orleans and they said it was really worth driving for the selection. Anyways, this was a good find and a much needed store because the other places selling kcups are so tied into the limited choices that are just boring and finally we can choose and pick like our US counterparts can, a real treat. for me its even better because I live just minutes away . . .yippie. The variety of blends and roasts packaged in KCups is the greatest I've ever seen.

Sure enough, the convenience store had a lovely display of baked goods with fairly reasonable prices. Cookies were $1.75, some squares and tarts were $2.50 and the fancier tarts were $4.45. Service was very friendly and welcoming, but I didn't feel too great that the staff member touched the pecan butter tart I bought with his bare hands and then went and processed my transaction at the cash register. I saw no handwashing before or after he handled my food. The other items I bought had a cupcake liner and so he just touched the liners with his hand, but the butter tart had no liner. I would have preferred if he wore gloves or used tongs. I bought a Peanut Butter Nanaimo Bar ($2.50), a Milano's Monkey Ball ($2.50), a Lemon Meringue Tart ($4.45), and the aforementioned Pecan Butter Tart ($2.50). All baked goods were delicious. The Peanut Butter Nanaimo Bar had a rich peanut butter taste to it. My husband who loves Nanaimo bars really enjoyed it. The Milano's Monkey Ball was great. I'm not entirely sure what all is in it, but I tasted chocolate, coconut and walnuts. It's like a dense cake. I'm guessing there's also bananas in it, but I didn't taste any strong banana flavour. The Lemon Meringue Tart was my favourite. The meringue was more like a marshmallow, so thick and gooey. I loved it. The lemon part was tart and really rich. I think they call it a Lemon Butter Meringue Tart because the lemon part is buttery and opaque, it's not like a translucent lemon curd. I do prefer the latter though. The majority of the dessert was the marshmallowy meringue, so I was good. I wasn't crazy about the crust though. Too buttery for me, lol. As for the Pecan Butter Tart, well I'm a germaphobe at the best of times, and we were not in the best of times during my visit (Covid Pandemic and all), so when I got home I re-baked it in my oven. And because I'm an impatient glutton, I had to cut it up and sample a quarter of it right away as soon as it came out of the oven. Since it just came out of the oven, the inside was all runny and the outside was all crispy. It was pretty good, but I didn't like the crust of this tart either. Again, I found it too buttery. I had the rest after it had cooled down and the filling solidified. I actually prefer it cooled. The filling had more of that gooey texture that I like. The desserts were excellent. Staff were courteous. My only dissatisfaction was with the hygiene, so minus one star for that. There's free parking out front in the plaza parking lot.
