We saw Tim Hortons at every corner we turned in Toronto. Curiosity got the better of us and we had to stop by just to try to the food when we were by Niagara Falls. We didn't realize it was a coffee shop like Starbucks but with better food, moreso than like a McDonalds, but we could see how it would be walking in, with the donuts in the front. I ordered the Turkey Caesar sandwich on multigrain bread, toasted. It was pretty damn good! At first I was upset I didn't see any Caesar or dressing or sauce on the sandwich, which isn't very big, but once I took a bite, I could taste the crispness of the bread, the freshness of the turkey, and the slight taste of the dressing. One sandwich won't fill you up, so you'll have plenty of room for another item on the menu. There's plenty of indoor seating at this location, but when your hotel room faces the Falls, you'd rather feast on Tim Hortons sandwiches there. For some reason, they don't take Visa, so be prepared to bring another kind of credit card or cash. read more

Well, we thought it was important that we stop at Tim Horton's at least once while in Canada! We knew what to expect, donuts and coffee, and that is what we got. It was really busy but the staff was very efficient and we didn't have to wait very long at all! And just as we got to the counter they were bringing a new, fresh tray of maple frosted donuts out, so that was a bonus! Just an aside, we are fans of the television show "How I Met Your Mother," and on one episode famous Canadians are talking about Tim Horton's donuts, that being said we had to stuff a timbit into a strawberry vanilla per Jason Priestly, it was delicious! For being in such a high use and tourist area this is one of the slowest Tim Hortons I've ever been to. We walked up here after visiting the falls and waited in line for 10 minutes with less than five people in front of us. We all know that's not normal for a Timmy's. To top it off I asked for for sugars in my orange pekoe tea and there were none. However, my friend that ordered a iced coffee got those for sugars in his and he asked for no sugar at all. It looks like the B shift runs in the evening here. Hopefully this was just an isolated incident because we're big fans of this chain. Luckily, the Wi-Fi works great and we were able to keep ourselves with that while we waited for the coffee and tea to show up. read more

I heart Tim Hortons! This is what DD should be! I wish we had TImmy's (as my family and I lovingly refer to it) down here in FL, I'd be there all the time. We came in because it was something we wanted to try out while in Canada and instantly fell in love. The coffee is great. I had a sausage sandwich and it was really good also.. not greasy at all like in other places. My hubby ordered the Maple Dip donut... I tried it.. not gonna lie... and it was heavenly. We also tried the Tim's Bits later on in our trip and I have to say not one was bad.. my personal fave was the sour cream donut. I totally recommend this place. read more

They have a drive thru! The same delicious donuts found in other Tim Hortons can be found here and even their drive thru service was incredibly friendly. They are smack dab in the thick of the hotel area so this Tim Hortons was our choice. We came by on a rainy morning so the drive thru was absolutely appreciated. We were expecting lackluster service since there was a long line and, let us face it, drive thru service is rarely friendly. Bu they surpassed our expectations. All I can say is Tim Hortons needs to show the West Coast some love and open up some stores here. Yes, Tim Hortons is a fast food chain restaurant. And, yes, I am giving them 5 stars. We went here on a whim as it was close to the hotel we were staying at for a quick breakfast before hitting up the falls. We thought it would be a one time visit. But, boy were we wrong. We ended up going back for a late night snack the same day. Then, got some cider from here the night after. And then, got breakfast again before our drive back to Toronto. Their warm apple cider is absolutely delicious and addicting during the winter months (a splash of Captain doesn't hurt!). Overall, their food seemed freshly made. IMO, the breakfast sandwiches are better than McD's (not as greasy with better biscuits and muffins). The hash browns are not-too-greasy, crisp, slightly seasoned goodness. The also have coffee and donuts that are comparable to that of Dunkin' Donuts'. They also had some sandwiches that looked good, but I didn't get to try them out. I remember going to Tim Horton's when it first came out in Rochester and it was good. I really enjoyed it. Fast forward... tried it a few times again, each time kinda lost my interest. This last time was in Niagara Falls. My partner and I were heading up to Toronto and decided to stop at Tim Horton's to grab lunch. We ordered a grilled cheese panini on white and a turkey club on wheat. We also got some doughnut holes for the road. I was disappointed. First off, this location is HORRIBLE in terms of service. The cashier had no personality and acted as if he didn't want to be working. Right after taking our order he decided to walk out in the middle of his line of customers to take a smoke break. He also never gave us a receipt or number. Low and behold, he had messed up not only the person before me but our order. Our panini came on multi-grain bread instead of white, but at this point of multiple mistakes we decided to let it go. The sandwiches weren't good. They were sloppily made. The grilled cheese was decent. Not the best. The turkey sub was smothered in a sweet sauce and tasted odd. The doughnut holes were good. I think they only thing they are still good for is the doughnuts and coffee - but even the doughnuts are not the best. If I had a choice, I would have gone elsewhere. The quality of the coffee for this place is really harsh and bitter. It's hard to tell whether or not it's a drip brew or instant. Either way I am never coming back for their coffee. The sweets though is on point. Don't come here if your looking for low grade robusta beans. read more

We bought a couple of things in their bakery as well, donuts, muffins, scones and croissants but our favorite is the French Toast Breakfast sandwich which is so delicious!! My trip across the border yielded four trips to a Tim Horton's. I'm reviewing this location because it's the one I remember the most, although all our Tim Horton's trips were similar in experience. For me, I would consider Tim Hortons a cross between Dunkin Donuts and a Panera, with less emphasis on being healthy, although there are healthy options. Foodwise, this place blows away Dunkin Donuts for sure. The coffee is really good, as is their pastries. Unfortunately, the baked goods are no longer made fresh on site, as they are pre-made elsewhere, and finished off in-store, but I'd definitely consider the baked goods an upgrade over anything you get at Dunkin. The iced mocha drink is also decadent. I checked on their website and unfortunately, have no plans to expand into my area in the U.S. Looks like I need to head back to Canada soon! read more

Unfortunately, there aren't any Tim Hortons in my city. So this was a first for me when i was visiting Ontario for Niagara Falls. What I gathered was that it's basically the equivalent of Dunkin donuts in Miami. I was in the mood for a quick bite and some hot cocoa to warm me up since it was freezing outside. When I asked for hot cocoa, I was pleased to be asked if I wanted white or traditional chocolate. I had to try both because I've never really tried hot chocolate made with white chocolate. It was kind of frustrating that I had to wait about 15 minutes before I could start drinking it because they served lava in my cup instead of a drinkable hot chocolate. I get it though, it's freezing outside and you want to maintain the warmth of it, but ouch!! It was way to hot I burned my tongue. When I was finally able to drink it, I was in love. They both had a rich chocolate flavor. No issue of a watered down hot cocoa at all. Just right. As I said, I wanted something quick and simple since we were on the go trying to soak in as much of the city in the little time we had, so I had a bagel and it was enjoyable. Nothing out of this world, but good. This place is a good place for a quick bite and some good cocoa. Didn't try the coffee, but there was a lot of people ordering and it seems to be a specialty of theirs so I'm sure it's good too. read more

As far as Tim Hortons go, this one is a gem! The staff people are the friendliest I've ever met at a Tim's location, and they are fast and efficient! They care about the food and beverages they are serving. Is it just me, or is that a rarity in "fast food" establishments? Anyway, day or night, this place is a hit. There are always a few people sitting at the tables inside, even at 2 a.m.! Is it because Americans have more appreciation for Timmies than we do? I bet this location sees more U.S. patrons than Canadian... I wonder if that's that why the staff seem to love their jobs so much? read more

Tim Horton's has been the surprise hit of our trip to Canada. What's not to like about fresh donuts, tasty bagels and great service. This is what donuts were intended to be (don't even get me going about the fall of dunkin donuts). For gosh sake, try the Canadian Donut with white frosting and small red maple leaf sprinkles. If you eat in the store, they serve you on a real plate for crying out loud "The one constant through all the years, Tim, has been donuts. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But donuts have marked the time. This cake, this frosting, is a part of our past, Tim. There's nothing like the comfort of a hot drink in hand while looking out on the Falls. Tim's is affordable and hits the spot. This location is big, with plenty of seating. It's not too far from the lookout and easy to walk to as it's central. Since it's cheap, it can get quite packed. More than often, they don't have the means to accommodate the line. I think they could improve the service because the associates can become forgetful of your order and when prompted don't apprieciate it - but honestly I didn't get my doughnut! Their selection is good and they have their baked goods stocked most hours. They have a pretty good system, although sometimes it seemed the employees really couldn't be bothered. read more

On our trip to Niagara Falls, Clifton Hill, I was jonesing for a coffee. This was the only place I could find that was open. We don't have Tim Horton's near where I live in the Pittsburgh, PA area. So, rather than dine at the overpriced and overrated IHOP inside the hotel, we walked on over to Tim Horton's to dine as the locals dine. In pure and utter maple bliss. Even as it rained and thundered, people were lined up out the door to get their coffee fix. I was very impressed and catching breakfast here helped us keep our food costs down while visiting Niagara Falls. One of the days, I even tried their sausage/egg breakfast sandwich. This is the closest Tim Hortons drive thru to my work so I've been stuck going to this one. Just this week I've been late for work twice because of their slow service. I got a hot chocolate. It was HOT. No really, it was burn your mouth/hand/anything you touch the cup with HOT. So... after about 10 minutes, I finally tried my hot chocolate, and it was good. They have free wifi, and they give you back Canadian change when you pay with US dollars. I'm not sure if that's a good thing in general or not, but I liked it because it saved us a trip to get our money exchanged. I'm an American tourist who has discovered poutine on this trip. I was looking forward to trying Tim Horton's take on this heart attack in a box, and was disappointed when the man taking my order told me that they were out. Okay, I've worked enough fast food to know that you run out of things. I'm not upset about that. What upsets me is that, aside from inadequate seating and staff, is that I waited in line for twenty minutes to be given misinformation. My friends ordered from a different cashier and got poutine. They all seemed to really enjoy their poutine that I was told they were out of. My cashier also seemed confused with the payment (I asked if I could use American currency and he told me there was a $2.80 upcharge after telling me yes I could and that I'd get Canadian currency back) and he didn't seem to understand that I wanted a simple turkey and cheese sandwich to go for my mom back at the hotel room.
