I came across U.Cake because my date is a local. She bought a box of macarons for me. I had one of…read morethem with her and instantly fell in love with them - I went on U.cake's Instagram and messaged the owner, Nick, on WhatsApp and another box to bring back to Toronto to be shared with my family. U.Cake perhaps has one of the BEST macarons I have ever had in my life. Unlike the traditional French style, U.CAKE's macarons' crusts and feet were less "chewy" but more airy, soft, and crispy. I really liked this style as it didn't stick with my teeth - my mouth was just full of the flavour each of the macarons had. The filling was the highlight of these macarons - it was remarkably delicious. Every single macaroon flavour had very dynamic, creamy, yet fruity profiles, completing the entire "picture." They were sweet and rich, yet without being cloying, extremely refreshing and satisfying. Every single flavour I've had (passion fruits, crème brûlée, chocolate, raspberry, strawberry, tiramisu) was crafted masterfully to perfection, visually as well. I talked to the owner, Nick, when I picked them up at their house (shout out to you Nick) - I hope U.Cake can open a location closer to the GTA sometime soon, or at least in London ON. I cannot wait to come back and visit.
