I was passing through the area on vacation with some friends, riding non-electric bikes. One of us had an issue with a headset, and I had a bent derailleur hanger and needed shifter cable tension adjustment. On a rush basis, Huston Jr put both of our bikes back in perfect working order. The grandson of the…read moreman who founded it (didn't catch his name darnit) was picking up our trash today and helped me out when I was out picking up our trash which had been pillaged by raccoons and flying out all over the neighborhood and floating in the water of the drainage culvert in front of the driveway. Needless to say it was a nightmare and this was my introduction to Oregon and their trash removal system here. He helped me by explaining how raccoons manage to tip over the trash cans and drag the bags into the culverts to forage through them. Then he gave me a bungee cord and showed me how to bungee the lid into place so it never happens again. I'm still picking up trash as I see it but now feel confident this won't happen again!
