To preface, I'm a photographer myself and am very self conscious of my "angles" when getting my photo taken. Tim (and his wife Dom) are absolutely incredible portrait and headshot photographers, and some of the only people that can consistently capture my "good side." TL;DR: Talented, efficient, modestly-priced photographer in San Diego BOOKING TIM My team held our Offsite in San Diego this September. Since our team is distributed around the world, we wanted to have our corporate headshots refreshed with everyone together. During the vendor sourcing process, I spoke to about half a dozen photographers that serviced San Diego, and more specifically the Little Italy area, where our hotel was located. While every photographer I interacted with was responsive and incredibly friendly, as all San Diego locals are, Tim was the only one who had researched our company, understood our team's mission/vision, and offered astute recommendations for our photo session. It also helped that he shared a recent portfolio of a Silicon Valley company that we were familiar with (and greatly respected), and loved the overall feel and style! A major bonus that his pricing was reasonable, if not lower than most of the other quotes I got. TIM In person, Tim is as friendly, professional and nimble as he was in all of our email correspondences... and we had A LOT! O_O, primarily from my end :D. When it came time for the photoshoots, we were as prepared as we could have been, since Tim provided thorough instructions in advance of our live sessions of any and every question we could imagine, we were still making changes, albeit minor, on the spot. Tim was really flexible and receptive in accommodating them. In the two mornings of interacting with Tim, I picked up his working style as quick and assertive, yet easygoing (a rare combo to find in a professional photographer!) Corporate photos are usually pretty awkward and uncomfortable, and Tim made the sessions only as long as they needed to be (~5 minutes/person), pleasant.. and fun! Additionally, a handful of our colleagues are from or have roots in Colorado, where Tim is originally from, so the connection helped put them at ease as well. We also had a team member who could not join all the activities that week, and conveniently lives in South OC, so Tim willingly scheduled a trip to take his headshots. We paid for the headshots (naturally :) ), though Tim generously waived the travel fee as it was along the way to another photoshoot in LA. That's what I call service! FINAL THOUGHTS After all is said and done, I feel really lucky to have hired Tim, especially on relatively short notice (within 2 weeks). We were delighted by the high quality of the final product, turned around in record time: within a week for 15 individuals + group shot. Per our request, he even touched up some BTS/casual shots and handed those off to us in the "Fun" folder. Let me start by saying I have never liked a single headshot that has been taken of me, until Tim King! I can't tell you how beautiful, confident, and skinny I felt after I saw the pictures that Tim took of me. Picking a photographer for a wedding is stressful, there are so many! What I had a hard time was not with the quantity of photographers out there, but the quality of the photographers work.
