My husband really enjoyed the Dunkel beer. I ordered the chocolate mousse, but was disappointed as it tasted like a Jello pudding mix chocolate. Not the rich dark chocolate mousse I'm used to. Overall a nice experience. The music playing in the restaurant was a German song on repeat! It played the entire time we were there...yikes! For my main course, I ordered the Steak Neptune and requested it cooked medium rare. It arrived medium instead. While the steak itself tasted good, it was more done than I had asked for. My son ordered the chicken parmigiana and said it tasted like it had been microwaved--it was hot in some spots, cold in others, and overall just mediocre. Another member of our group ordered a medium-well steak but received it well done. She said it was okay, but not what she ordered. The remaining steaks ordered medium also arrived well done, so there seemed to be a consistent issue with the kitchen getting steak temperatures right. Service from our waitress was the highlight of the evening. She was friendly, attentive, and did a great job despite the problems coming from the kitchen. Unfortunately, the wait time was also unacceptable. It took about an hour for our meals to arrive after we placed our order, which is far too long. The atmosphere also didn't live up to expectations. It felt more like an inexpensive family restaurant than the higher-end dining experience the restaurant appears to market itself as. Overall, this was a very disappointing meal, especially for a family celebration. Between the long wait, inconsistent cooking, and poor quality of several dishes, I won't be returning. There are many better restaurants in the area that offer better food, better value, and a much more enjoyable dining experience.
