DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY. RUN, DON'T WALK: BEWARE! They are the worst! And after taking $5k from us to handle our taxes w the IRS & FTB, they did NOTHING for us. We had to arrange for making installments with IRS & FTB directly after Timberline promised they could get it reduced and we'd only pay a fraction... NEVER HAPPENED. SO WRONG! AND... our acct guy, Zarek, barely returns calls, is impossible to get a hold of and has never once, picked up a call when we call... always days later with excuses that he's so busy. Example: We have emails from him apologizing for not getting back to us for 8 days after promising to get answers, then another email promising to get back to us 3 days ago... still nothing. And yet, I had no problem getting through to FTB myself. when he allegedly has a direct dial into them. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR DOG & PONY SHOW OF NICENESS AND COMMUNICATION. ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY, GOOD LUCK... YOU'LL BE DOING THE WORK. THEY GAVE US ZERO EXPERTISE ADVISE OR ACTION THAT THEY ORIGINALLY PROMISED. WE'RE EXACTLY WHERE WE WERE BEFORE WE HIRED THEM!!!! IN SHORT, TIMBERLINE & ZAREK SUCK!!! Addendum: Just got a call from Zarek threatening to have their legal team come after me if I don't take down this review. Really??!! My personal experience and my ex-partner's experience are our own and should not be manipulated by them. The basic info we're asking (balances in writing and sorting out which accounts have installments) should only take 15 mins tops, yet he's spending the time to argue and justify, instead of just providing the information and having the best chances of closing this out on friendly terms. This company is heaven sent. I had previously been working with a larger tax assistance company that lacked results, communication and extremely expensive for no results. I and our company was in a serious downward death spiral from the worst case of "Napoleon" from an IRS agent. The IRS agent screamed, cursed, emptied our bank accounts, berated our employer and put a loan on our house. I received a Solicitation call from Timberline. The Timberline team showed the highest level of professionalism in handling my tax case and provided a thorough overview of what they would do. They only spoke in real terms and did not promise anything they could not deliver. I appreciated that because my case was a complex one! I had been hiding in the sand for years without dealing with my tax bill. It's only been a few hours since Timberline informed me that all of my tax issues have been resolved and I am still in a state of shock that this nightmare is finally over. It is as though I have just taken off a heavy winter jacket lined with stress that I've been wearing for years.
