He also offered drinks and snacks, which I really appreciated because I definitely needed the caffeine boost that day. He washed my hair and gave me the trim I desperately needed, removing all my split ends while still keeping my hair long just like I asked. I'm always nervous about losing too much length, but he really listened and delivered exactly what I wanted. His station was also very cute and calming, with plants around the mirror and a dream catcher. I deal with anxiety, so I really appreciated his relaxing energy during the appointment. I usually get my trims done in Beverly Hills with my longtime stylist, and I was pleasantly surprised that the price here was about the same -- $120, which is pretty standard for a good trim in Beverly Hills as well. Since I happened to be in the area, I thought "why not?" and I'm really glad I did because it turned out to be such a pleasant experience.

I've had many color treatments and balayages in the past and this has never happened to me before, so I'm very concerned. I love my hair, but the skin damage makes this a really tough experience. To keep my review honest and transparent, I do want to note that the physical reaction I experienced was a clear chemical burn, with localized areas feeling burning and oozing. This might have been an oversight during the process--such as product being left on a bit too long or not rinsed out thoroughly. The stylists here are undeniably talented, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time during the appointment itself. While the physical reaction was unfortunate, their effort to communicate with me is appreciated.

Plus, Rae is the nicest, most down-to-earth stylist, so it's always good to see her, and the space in Highland Park is very chill. After my first and only appointment, she left me with bangs that had some strange long pieces on one side that went over and kept poking in my eye. Not only did it not look right aesthetically (others later confirmed what I was seeing), it was physically annoying. Although everything else was great as far as the cut, this was clearly an oversight that, for whatever reason, neither of us did noticed at the time of the appointment. Frankly, although Rae does not charge as much as many very expensive hair stylists, she is *not* inexpensive and this was the most that I've ever paid for a haircut. I felt that I should not have to correct anything myself plus I did not want to mess with her work at all. After contacting her about this very small matter, as I was willing to make the effort to go back to her to have this corrected, she ghosted me. Instead of being agreeable and embodying all of the positive things she purports to believe in and represent via her Instagram page, she apparently decided that I would be "a difficult client." (And apparently this is a thing with hairdressers, as I found mention of this on a hairdressing professionals site.) There was absolutely no consideration for my feelings. I am far from a difficult client. But the client should be happy, and she could've done a couple of snips and that would've been that. Instead... After receiving no reply via phone after leaving her a couple of messages, I finally had to find her on Instagram and sent her a photo of my obviously uneven bangs. Apparently now fearing that I would post something negative to her account or leave a bad review somewhere, she offered to refund the entire cost of the haircut rather than make this quick fix. I was floored. While happy to not have to end up paying my hard-earned money to someone who basically was cruel to me via her respect for only her feelings with none for me, I knew that she was paying me off. As I didn't want to spend any more time or energy on this or her, she's been successful with that until now. But she's come up again, and I can see all of these great reviews and the feelings of rejection have returned. So I must be such an asshole to deserve to be treated like one, right? No. Our session together was perfectly normal, and Rae just cannot accept that she could make such a small oversight and that a client may not be 100% happy with her work--i.e. she exists beyond reproach. She's an artist, mind you! If you can be happy with that, yes she does good work and it seems that most of the time she gets it right with clients (particularly if they have lots of Instagram followers, I suspect but cannot ascertain) or they just don't bother or feel comfortable mentioning any dissatisfaction. I just don't like people thinking they can treat others like trash because they are an artist in some high-priced field. It's a fucking haircut attached to a human being. Just be a nice person and have some grace.

OMG, I could not be more excited and honored to write this review! My name is Nichole Bloom, and I recently got married at the Ebell of Los Angeles! I was super nervous about getting my hair and makeup done because I had never had professional hair or makeup before and had also been dealing with some unwanted hair-loss issues. I wanted to feel beautiful, confident, and, frankly, full of hair, lol!! From the moment I connected with Theresa and Kohner, I was treated like an absolute queen. My mom also had some concerns about her hair and makeup, which Theresa graciously addressed while ensuring that my mom felt comfortable, safe, and supported throughout the entire process! I had a huge bridal party, and several of my friends are fashion, hair, and makeup girlies who have always helped with my glam and made me feel beautiful for all of life's biggest moments. So, I wanted to make sure that, on the wedding day, they received the full glam experience and left completely satisfied with their results! And wow--I have to say that Theresa and her team absolutely killed it! My seven bridesmaids, two moms, and man of honor walked out of that room looking AMAZING! I cannot rave enough about all of Kohner's artists. They are incredibly talented, kind, and personable. Theresa is also a scheduling mastermind. Everything ran perfectly and smoothly throughout the entire morning, with zero stress or delays. :) Now for my bridal glam: Tokiko. What an icon! From the moment Tokiko came to my parents' house for my trial--which I scheduled before my engagement photos and was a total hole-in-one, hehe--I instantly felt so comfortable and seen by her. She understood exactly what I wanted without me even having the words to describe it, lol. From her flawless makeup and insane eyelash application to her absolute hair wizardry, she is truly one of the most talented and kind people I have ever worked with! On the wedding day, it felt like we picked up right where we had left off. She was so kind, calm, and understanding, and she made sure I had a peaceful and relaxing morning before all of the festivities began! And lastly, the hair!!! I had never worn clip-in hair extensions before, but I was inspired to try them after my trial with Tokiko. I sent her and Theresa a selfie of my hair, and OMG--it turned out perfectly! The extensions matched not only my natural hair color but also my highlights and balayage. I have genuinely never felt or looked better, lol! All I can say is that the Kohner girls are truly fairy godmothers! I am endlessly grateful to Theresa, Tokiko, and the entire amazing team for their kindness, talent, and absolutely iconic work. I had my bridal hair and makeup trial with Tokiko, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! From the moment we started, she was incredibly patient, kind, and easy to work with. When I first met with Theresa, I thought she presented herself well; hair styled, make up nicely done (which is something I wish I can do to myself). And that's a great start. Her studio was also very inviting, it was decorated and designed appropriately. Nothing beats meeting a vendor at their home base where it's comfy yet professional, and clean. Every first impressions count! In terms of the company's forte, they definitely excel in the 'natural, effortless look.' Theresa was excellent! Not only in her knowledge and execution of her craft but also in her attitude. My daughter doesn't normally wear makeup and i wanted her to have it for her wedding day. Kohnur is a luxury service. Was I concerned about how expensive it was? Yes. Do I have any regrets about booking with them? NOPE! Immediately after I met Theresa for the first time I knew I had found the perfect beauty team for my wedding day. This splurge was absolutely worth it. We had Johanna, Lindsay, Nik and Leslie as our incredible team. The bridal party had nothing but good things to say about how they looked. I can personally attest my hair and makeup wore beautifully throughout the day. My eye makeup and lashes survived my happy tears and was fully in tact before I went to bed that night. We had a trial session where I met Manning, and she was so warm, chatty, and approachable from the very beginning. The session was lengthy (I think 4 hours?), but it flew by quickly because we were having a nice time. On the actual wedding day, Manning and her team graciously accommodated to the chaos of the situation (I have a toddler at home, and we had just moved to a new house with minimal furniture - and should I mention I accidentally overslept as well??). She also gave my hair the small special touches I didn't know it needed by fashioning a hair piece from some florals I already had at home for my tea ceremony, and also magically produced another beautiful hair piece that would match my bridal dress. She literally saved my hair that day!! My bridal party was very satisfied with their hair & makeup, and everyone's H&M lasted for more than 12 hours on the big day with minimal touch ups. I was given a bridal touch-up kit as well, which was so thoughtful and had everything I needed. I appreciate Manning's detailed makeup and hair technique - she really makes you look like the elevated and best version of you in a very natural way. I'll remember how she patiently added small bunches of fake lashes with artistic care so it looks like I had been blessed with good eyelash genes naturally. That said, if you are into very heavy, dense makeup with giant false lashes that will give the very drastic "before" and "after" look, then this is not for you (but why would you want that for your wedding anyways). They provided a very clear schedule that laid out which person would be with each staff member and approximately how much time each person would take. They brought 3 staff to assist with the make up for our wedding party. One was specifically for the bride and groom and the other two staff member were for the bridesmaids. They were extremely friendly and the service provided was excellent.
