My annual physical is more like catching up on my health with a good friend, rather than an interrogation. My labs are always thoroughly reviewed, and the actual examination is very thorough and professional. In the rare cases where there is a more serious issue to be evaluated, Dr. Li is always available for a thoughtful consultation. He sets a high standard for the practice and the entire team consistently exceeds that standard. A few years ago, following a late evening emergency appendectomy, Dr. Li made it a point the next morning to stop by my room at Rose Medical Center to check on me -- and he had not even been involved with the acute evaluation and procedure! The fact that there is a LabCorp location in the office, keeping me from waiting to get blood drawn elsewhere, is an extra added bonus. Despite a recent move to another state, my plan is to continue my relationship with this practice, even if it means paying for flights and hotels. It would take a lot for me to ever change doctors again.

Dr. Strohl was at the hospital the day of my cerebral hemorrhage. She spoke to the neurosurgeon when things didn't look good, and he chose to operate even when others said I was 'too far gone.' I am convinced that if it weren't for her, I wouldn't be here. She is passionate about her patients. She advocates for them. That's what you need in a doctor today. God definitely broke the mold when He made her.

I then tried to make an appointment through UC Health's app, and found that there were very few openings for new patients within the next month. I found a doc that was low on my list and made an appointment for five weeks out. Then, I decided that I would diligently check the doctor availability on the app everyday to see if things would change. I was happy to see that once Saturday morning arrived there were new appointments available, and after refreshing the list of openings throughout the morning, an appointment came up with one of the doctors at the top of my list. I quickly grabbed that appointment and canceled the first one. My appointment was today with Dr. Anne Safley, and I was absolutely thrilled with her! She is personable, caring and has the emphasis on preventive medicine that I was looking for. She patiently listened to my concerns, validated them, and ordered the tests and screenings that I was looking for. I am so so happy to have found her. I also have to say that her nursing staff was also very personable and caring. Such a relief to feel like I have found my forever doctor.

I highly recommend him for several reasons. First and more importantly, he listens, totally listens to what we have to say. His answers are well thought out and always right on target. Secondly, he is extemely understanding. He understands what we are trying to tell him and answers every last question we have. We are in our eighties, so we have had the normal number or more than normal issues that those in their eighties experience and he really takes the time to answer us. His recommendations for specialist are excellent! Lastly, his staff is excellent. We are able to talk to someone and are able to schedule appointments easily. Lab reports come back to us in a very reasonable amount of time. In conclusion, we would not drive four hours to see our primary care doctor if he was not the absolute best doctor. We highly recommend Dr. Christopher Courtney and believe that you will, too.

I've seen other practitioners who would only prescribe basic hormone replacement and wouldn't run labs or consider bioidentical homones.
